Encore!<br />
<br />
<em>You are my expansion,<br />
My favorite expansion,<br />
You'll make me happy<br />
With a house and more.<br />
You have to know, dear,<br />
How much I want you!<br />
Please hurry the expansion to my door!</em><br />
<br />
Just when I thought I was getting a handle on waiting for <em><a href="http://na.aiononline.com/">Aion's</a></em> sorta-soon-to-be-released 3.0 patch, <a href="http://us.ncsoft.com/en/">NCsoft</a> went and announced a slightly less nebulous launch date of "<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/02/21/the-wait-is-over-aions-3-0-and-f2p-conversion-announced/">this spring</a>." Our patch-to-be even has the auspicious privilege of having a name: <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Ascension/">Ascension</a>. And you know a name means extra special! WOOO! I, of course, started a requisite wing-flapping celebratory dance, but my tune soon changed: As exciting as this news was, I quickly realized that the more concrete the knowledge, the more I wanted it to release already. GAH -- this wait is truly taxing my patience! There is just so much to look forward to.<br />
<br />
Last week I regaled you with a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/02/20/wings-over-atreia-ode-to-3-0/">stirring, soulful rendition</a> of anticipation for 3.0. Together we explored just a few of the goodies in store for patient and -- luckily for me -- not-so-patient Daevas alike. This week the recital continues, and as promised, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/wings-over-atreia">Wings Over Atreia</a> takes another peek at more of the features coming our way and highlights some of the more tantalizing additions and changes, including new fortresses with their own unique siege system, XP changes, mounts, and more.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/02/27/wings-over-atreia-ode-to-3-0-second-verse/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Wings Over Atreia: Ode to 3.0, second verse</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/02/27/wings-over-atreia-ode-to-3-0-second-verse/">Wings Over Atreia: Ode to 3.0, second verse</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 27 Feb 2012 16:00:00 EST. So you're an armchair game designer, eh? Well, <a href="http://everquest2.com"><em>EverQuest II</em></a> invites you to put your money where your mouth is -- at least as it relates to dungeon creation.<br />
<br />
While <a href="http://soe.com">Sony Online Entertainment's</a> venerable fantasy title is no stranger to player-generated content given its spectacular player- and guild-housing mechanics, this winter's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/age-of-discovery"><em>Age of Discovery</em></a> expansion upped the ante a little bit in the form of the new <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/12/22/soe-shows-off-eqii-dungeon-maker-video/">dungeon maker</a> toolset. The system is a bit rough around the edges, but it's nonetheless a fantastic first iteration that adds a lot of fun and replay value to an MMO that was already chock-full of both.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/20/some-assembly-required-a-look-at-eqiis-dungeon-maker/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Some Assembly Required: A look at EQII's dungeon maker</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/20/some-assembly-required-a-look-at-eqiis-dungeon-maker/">Some Assembly Required: A look at EQII's dungeon maker</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 20 Jan 2012 12:00:00 EST. 43,829 minutes. That's roughly how long <a href="http://aiononline.com"><em>Aion</em></a>'s been out in the West. Depending on your tolerance for grinding, it may or may not have felt like that amount of time passed. There's no doubt it's been a busy month full of ups and downs, so we'd like to take an extensive look back at the last 30-days and give our impressions on the game.<br /> <br /> <strong>Smooth criminal </strong><br /> <br /> <a href="http://massively.com/category/aion"><em> Aion</em></a> experienced one of the most technically smooth launches in MMO history, which was the result of hard work, innovative design, tough decision-making, and of course nearly a year between the Eastern and Western releases. Anti-cheat software, GameGuard, was stripped from the client <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/09/18/aion-say-goodbye-to-gameguard-for-now/">in the 11th hour</a>. This no doubt eliminated most of the open-beta issues that would have sent a lot of potential players packing shortly after release. Players just aren't as forgiving as they used to be.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/a-look-back-at-aions-first-month-and-impressions/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A look back at Aion's first month and impressions</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/a-look-back-at-aions-first-month-and-impressions/">A look back at Aion's first month and impressions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 26 Oct 2009 12:00:00 EST.
