One Shots: Straight flowing on a boat on the deep blue sea

When it comes to canvassing the lands of Vanguard, our occasional One Shots contributor, Vendayn (also known as TheExplorer here on Massively) has been sending in images of Telon for some time. Today, we have a sunny shot of one of the starting areas to check out, along with a brief note explaining how he wound up in this picturesque area. Here's what he had to say: "Hello, Vendayn here. I go by Isasis Wraithmire in Vanguard, on Telon. This is my first city I visited after leaving the trial island. I was taken aback by the size of this city, which is also a prime trading spot for ships and merchants. A perfect place for taking pictures."

One Shots: Calm before the storm

Soon we'll see Cataclysm launch, and Deathwing will rip Azeroth apart in World of Warcraft. While there are spoilers out there as to which bits will stay intact and which will be destroyed, some players are choosing to skip them and are instead taking their last chance to find favorite things and snap screenshots of them, lest they change. In the middle of all this exploration, other players are finding new things they haven't experienced, such as regular One Shots contributor Vendayn (or TheExplorer as he's known in comments here). He writes in to explain today's placid screenshot: "I started up World of Warcraft again to prepare for Cataclysm and made a Night Elf Druid. Usually I play Horde, but I wanted a change of pace. As I was exploring Darnassus, I was met with this amazing view inside the Temple of the Moon. I think I've found my new favorite city in WoW!"

We love to see MMOs from small to large, but we need you to send in screenshots of your adventures! Try as we might, we just haven't perfected a time machine so we can play everything we want to. One Shots: A look into the future, perhaps

The voting continues in the most recent Choose My Adventure poll. EverQuest II Extended is currently hanging out in third place. Tearing it up at second is the indie MMO, Ryzom. However, it appears that the Vanguard community has mobilized and its members in it to win it. With a week from today left on the poll that decides my next six-week adventure, it's going to be interesting to see if any of the other challengers will mobilize its fans and take the lead. In the meantime, we have this lovely Vanguard view from our regular contributor, Vendayn, for our enjoyment. Will this wind up being a location I get to visit soon? Time will tell!

One Shots: Trifecta!

Today we offer another in an unplanned series of waterfalls. Truly, it's a trio of tremendous terrain treats on One Shots! This gorgeous overland view comes to us from another of our regular contributors, Vendayn, who goes by The Explorer here on Massively, or as Isasis Wraithmire in the game we see today -- Vanguard. Between the fluffy purple clouds overhead, and the combination of cliffs, waterfall, and interesting foliage, we couldn't resist. Vendayn writes in to explain:

"This is looking out toward the West of New Targoner in Vanguard. [It is located] on the Thestra continent. I was taken aback by this beautiful landscape. The waterfall in the background, with the rock pillars...and the sun was just setting, which made it even more perfect."

One Shots: A beautiful day for a flight

While we may not often see the lush landscapes of Vanguard here, they stand waiting for those who are interested in checking out this scenic world. That's why we're glad to hear from the occasional adventurer who wanders into Vanguard -- and other off-the-beaten-path MMOs like it. Today, we have a great One Shots that comes to us from the intrepid wanderer, Vendayn, who sends us reports on his travels from time to time. He writes:

"Hello from Vendayn. I re-subscribed to Vanguard: Saga of Heroes recently and was amazed at how good the graphics still are. By removing fog in-game, you get an amazing view of the land like you can see in the screenshot. This was taken on Isle of Dawn, while I was doing the Pegasus scouting quest."

One Shots: The Burb

It goes without saying that the times in Fallen Earth are hard. What used to be a cheerful little town is now a jumble of burned-out buildings that have been cobbled back into some semblance of shape by survivors. As a new clone, players will undoubtedly pass through this area on the way to bigger, meaner things. This One Shots, sent in to us by TheExplorer (or Vendayn as he's known in Fallen Earth) shows off "a scenic view of North Burb and the surrounding land." At night it even kind of looks peaceful from the outskirts -- at least until a mutant prairie chicken shows up and tries to chomp on you.

We love MMOs -- from fantasy to abstract; from big name to indie titles. However, we need you to send your screenshots in and show off the games you're playing. It's easy to do. One Shots: And the moon looks down

While they say that life is tough on Atys, it certainly is very eye-catching as well. This alien science-fantasy shot from within the world of Ryzom shows off both terrain and something strange in the skies. It almost resembles an eye to us. That said, we'll let Vendayn explain the scene: I'm Vendayn, otherwise known as Vendeyn in Ryzom. The visuals continually impress me in the game. The planet can be considered one giant plant. Here you see the planet with a ring around it, with the planet's roots going overhead. [There is also] a peaceful view of an island.

We love to see MMOs from small to large, but we need you to send in screenshots of your adventures! Try as we might, we just haven't perfected that time machine so we can play everything we want to.
