Last summer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/xl-games">XLGAMES</a> COO <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/suk-woo-choi">Suk Woo Choi</a> told Massively in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/06/07/e3-2012-archeage-coo-on-cbt4-and-coming-to-america/">no uncertain terms</a> that the firm was "definitely going to service <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/archeage"><em>ArcheAge</em></a> in Europe and America." He didn't know the details at the time, though, and XL has been completely silent on the matter of localization since.<br />
<br />
Yesterday company founder and <em>ArcheAge</em> creator <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/jake-song">Jake Song</a> took to Twitter to <a href="https://twitter.com/appledelhi">reassure fans</a> that a western version of the game is still cooking. "OBT [open beta test] will be in Korean only," Song wrote. "We're working on the English version."<br />
<br />
While there are no dates involved, it's more confirmation that western sandbox fans will indeed be getting their hands on <em>ArcheAge</em> at some point.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/12/20/jake-song-were-working-on-the-english-version-of-archeage/">Jake Song: 'We're working on the English version' of ArcheAge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 20 Dec 2012 09:00:00 EST. This is one of those good news/bad news <em><a href="http://www.archeage.com/en">ArcheAge</a></em> articles. The good news is that <a href="http://www.xlgames.com/en/">XLGAMES</a>' sandpark title is absolutely coming to the West. The bad news, though, is that we still don't know exactly when.<br />
<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/xl-games"><br />
XL</a> didn't have an official presence at this year's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/e3-2012">E3</a>, but the firm was kind enough to set up a private interview with COO <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/suk-woo-choi">Suk Woo Choi</a> away from the hustle and bustle of convention ground zero. We talked at length about CBT4, game systems, and the challenges inherent in localizing <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/archeage"><em>ArcheAge</em></a> for Europe and America.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/06/07/e3-2012-archeage-coo-on-cbt4-and-coming-to-america/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>E3 2012: XL COO on ArcheAge, CBT4, and coming to America</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/06/07/e3-2012-archeage-coo-on-cbt4-and-coming-to-america/">E3 2012: XL COO on ArcheAge, CBT4, and coming to America</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 07 Jun 2012 13:30:00 EST.
