After a month that involved a polar vortices and a polar plunge (I'm surprised we didn't end up with polar bears!), I know a number of people who are threatening to carry out bodily harm to a certain weather-forecasting critter if he deigns to suggest that winter will be extended. Spring or the groundhog gets it! That's the cry I hear around these parts. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but if you have any furry friends show up on your doorstep this week asking for asylum, you just might want to grant it. What do you do when Mother Nature decides to dump enough snow on you to recreate a life-size replica of The Wall? Most of us would hunker down at our desks and dive into the sunnier realms of our favorite virtual worlds. We're gamers; that's what we do. But I've since learned that there are those who actually go out in that powdery white stuff and do something constructive -- and I don't just mean shoveling (which is pretty much how I've spent this whole new year so far).

Thanks to just such people, I have now experienced the Snow Shark. And I want one! If you haven't seen one yourself, you simply haven't lived yet. Now I am inspired to go do something with the foot of snow right outside my door, but what would I make? I may not be able to top a Snow Shark (who can?!), but I'm sure to get plenty of inspiration watching this week's Stream Team escapades on Massively TV.

WildStar
Carbine Studios recently hosted an hour-long WildStar livestream dedicated to showing off the newly unveiled Engineer class. In the stream, developers Hugh Shelton and Stephan Frost answered a variety of questions about how the Engineer works both in and out of battle.

The pair revealed that summoned bots will last until destroyed, that taunts from bots will affect players as well as NPCs, and that Engineers will have loose control over how bots move and react to targets. The full stream also includes a look at some PvP and dungeon content from the Engineer's perspective with commentary from the devs.

Carbine is planning a Saturday livestream dedicated to one of the classes in WildStar, and while the class itself won't be a surprise, the studio is promising a pile of new information as well as a glimpse of the class in action. Carbine also noted that Saturday's livestream will offer the public a glance of WildStar's "brand-new" game build, which is set to go live for beta players in December.
