New outfits, ice guns, fiery hands and crazy Jim Lee-influenced jumping poses -- all these and more are in the newest batch of <em><a href="http://dcuo.station.sony.com/">DC Universe Online</a></em> screenshots over <a href="http://www.strategyinformer.com/ps3/dcuniverseonline/screenshots.html">at Strategy Informer right now</a>. We're really impressed with this blue armor-clad girl with her wind-swept hair and impressive poses. In fact, these are some of the first player-character screens we've seen and they certainly do impress.<br /><br />We're interested to see more of the character designs and hopefully the character creation process as well. If there's one thing we've learned over the years playing <em><a href="http://www.coh.com">City of Heroes</a></em>, it's that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/12/04/the-26-sheilds-of-city-of-heroes/">you can never have enough character</a> creation and customization options in a superhero MMO.<hr />

By now, we all should know quite a bit about <a href="http://www.lotro.com"><span style="font-style: italic;">Lord of the Rings Online</span></a>'s newest expansion, <a href="http://www.lotro.com/moria"><span style="font-style: italic;">Mines of Moria</span></a>, slated for release later this year. We know about the two new classes and the new area to explore, but what about the future after <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/mines-of-moria" style="font-style: italic;">Moria</a>? This has only been touched-on previously, but in two <a href="http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/09/26/interview-jeffrey-steefel-on-lotro-mines-of-moria/#more-3282">recent</a> <a href="http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/lordoftheringsonlineminesofmoria/interview.html">interviews</a> with Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel, we get word of Turbine's plans with the franchise.<br /><br />First, Steefel mentions the fact that they're aiming to release another expansion this time next year, and that there will be several new books released between now and then. While this has been discussed before, he mentions the act that these books will all take place in and around <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lothl%C3%B3rien">Lothlorien</a>. Does this mean we may see the next expansion focusing on <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohan">Rohan</a>? Oh, wouldn't that be amazing.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/26/lotros-jeffrey-steefel-looks-beyond-mines-of-moria/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LotRO's Jeffrey Steefel looks beyond Mines of Moria</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/26/lotros-jeffrey-steefel-looks-beyond-mines-of-moria/">LotRO's Jeffrey Steefel looks beyond Mines of Moria</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 26 Sep 2008 17:00:00 EST. The interview focused on two facets of the game: <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><span style="font-style: italic;">EVE's</span></a> economy, and the fact that with other sci-fi MMO titles like <a href="http://www.jumpgateevolution.com/index.php "><span style="font-style: italic;">Jumpgate Evolution</span></a> on the way, <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span> may face increased competition in the coming months and years. <br /><br />CCP's Lead Economist, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/eyjolfur-gudmundsson">Dr. Eyj&oacute;lfur Gu&eth;mundsson</a> talked with Strategy Informer about the game's economic depth, which dwarfs other titles, despite having a subscriber base that's a fraction of what <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/blizzard">Blizzard</a> enjoys. The interview touched on the possibilities of new trade hubs being established by players over time, the scarcity of certain technologies and their increasing prices, and how the market moves in general. However, the main aspects of the game he discussed were the player-run financial services that have sprung up in <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span>, what the community has come up with on its own.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/03/strategy-informer-interviews-ccp-games-about-the-future-of-eve-o/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Strategy Informer interviews CCP Games about the future of EVE Online</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/03/strategy-informer-interviews-ccp-games-about-the-future-of-eve-o/">Strategy Informer interviews CCP Games about the future of EVE Online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 03 Sep 2008 20:00:00 EST.
