New screens for DDO Unlimited Update 4

Ever since the recent DDO Unlimited "State of the Game" last week the fourth update really can't come soon enough. Lucky for us, Turbine has released some more screens that showcase some new content, which includes lots of fantasy sword swinging and some particularly nasty looking baddies to fight, as well. Now that we think on it, perhaps the images aren't as lucky as we thought, because now we just want patch day to be today.

Well, at least April -- the scheduled month for Update 4 -- is just around the corner. And if that's not good enough for you, we'll be demoing the update this Friday during PAX East. So expect to find heaps of new images and information in short order. Until then, please enjoy the new DDO Unlimited update 4 gallery.

New LotRO Vol. III book 1 screens include awesome dragon

Turbine knows how to please a crowd, as evidenced by these new screens for Volume III: Allies of the King, Book 1 for Lord of the Rings Online. Who doesn't love dragons? Well, okay, probably not the party currently under siege by one in the screenshot above -- but everyone else for the most part. At least, everyone else loves them until they're attacked by one.

Anyhow, check out the rest of the screens. We especially recommend this one particular screen, where you'll find some other non-dragon enemies that look more than ready to tear apart your character in-game. Yes, we know, we've got a problem with dragons today. Don't worry, we're done now. Honest.

The Daily Grind: What inspires you to take screenshots?

It takes two button presses for a screenshot, most of the time -- one to hide the game's UI and one to take the screen. It seems so extraneous that it's almost a wonder it's in there, but we can all take a visual log any time we want. And more often than not, even if you're chronically bad about taking photos or remembering your camera in real life, you've got a few special shots in there.

Of course, as our daily One Shots feature proves, everyone has different reasons for taking a moment for a picture. Some go for poignant moments, some aim for something silly, and some people snap whatever moment looks the most epic. Players try to arrange screenshots, pose everything just right, and give the best possible look to a frozen moment of game time. Today, we ask you what inspires you to take a picture? Are they commemorative, amusing, visually impressive, or some mix of those three?

Asheron's Call celebrates its 10th anniversary

Whenever an MMO hits the big ten-zero, we tend to get a little misty in the ocular slots on our heads. Asheron's Call holds a special place in many a person's heart -- because everyone has a first -- and so this post is for all of you players both past and present who cherish and adore your little personal slice of gaming love.

Turbine has plans to run live events throughout the day as part of their celebration, which includes bringing back some of the most loved (and feared) characters and villains. We hope the event is fun for all, and if any players happen to attend why not take some awesome screens and send them into our One Shots feature?
