The blog <a href="http://sithinquirer.com/2011/10/31/exclusive-sith-inquisitor-interview-with-daniel-erickson/">Sith Inquirer</a> wrote in to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/BioWare/">BioWare</a> to, well, inquire about <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic's</em></a> Sith Inquisitor class story and received a response from none other than head writer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/daniel-erickson/">Daniel Erickson</a>.<br />
<br />
In the interview, Erickson said that the story for the Sith Inquisitor was entirely written by <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/rebecca-harwick/">Rebecca Harwick</a>, who drew inspiration from Emperor Palpatine as well as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/alexander-freed/">Alex Freed's</a> Blood of the Empire series. Inquisitor players will begin their saga by investigating "forgotten regions" on different worlds as they look for the secret of ancient Sith power.<br />
<br />
The team had a few issues writing around Purebloods being portrayed as slaves, although this was ironed out as BioWare placed a priority on allowing players to pick the race they wished. the class is being voiced by <a href="http://www.euanmorton.com/">Euan Morton</a> (male) and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1287143/">Xanthe Elbrick</a> (female).<br />
<br />
Will there be plenty of backstabbing, political or otherwise, as part of the storyline? "More than you can possibly imagine," Erickson replies.<br />
<br />
When it comes to the Sith Inquisitor's companions, Erickson tantalized fans by saying, "Khem has one of the most amazing storyline developments for a companion and the (as yet unseen) Inquisitor romances are not your normal fare at all."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/11/01/backstabbing-galore-daniel-erickson-talks-about-the-sith-inquis/">Backstabbing galore: Daniel Erickson talks about the Sith Inquisitor's story</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 01 Nov 2011 13:00:00 EST. <em>Star Wars</em> offers a setting with incredible chances at strong storytelling and it's for this reason I've been watching closely for any hints at the story elements in <a href="http://www.swtor.com"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. This <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/05/the-development-of-the-sith-inquisitor-in-star-wars-the-old-rep/">recent developer blog</a> on the driving forces behind the Sith Inquisitor's tale really dug its claws into my mind.<br />
<br />
Before now, I'd always assumed most choice elements within the story of any given class would be mostly binary. That was the easiest solution for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/BioWare/">BioWare</a>, who has created quite the challenge for themselves with the premise of a full singleplayer storyline experience for each class within the game.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/08/the-digital-continuum-can-story-supplant-grind/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Digital Continuum: Can story supplant grind?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/08/the-digital-continuum-can-story-supplant-grind/">The Digital Continuum: Can story supplant grind?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 08 Feb 2010 15:00:00 EST. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/BioWare/">BioWare</a> has been touting their focus on story with <em><a href="http://www.swtor.com">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></em>, and many a jaded MMO fan have scoffed and or rolled their eyes each and every time. <a href="http://www.swtor.com/news/bwblog/20090424_001">Ord Mantell's developer diary concerning the planet's creation</a> gives a glimmer of hope that there truly is a blurry line between the forces of the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire.<br /><br />Instead of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/04/11/star-wars-the-old-republic-reveals-ord-mantell-as-its-newest-pl/">making Ord Mantell</a> an Empire controlled planet with Republic rebels attempting to overthrow it, the development team went the other direction, sort of. They made the choice of keeping the planet under Republic control, but making many of the leaders less-than-honorable types. The locale has also been malnourished by its caretakers, as the Republic is seemingly only concerned with Coruscant after the war.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/04/27/the-old-republic-shows-potential-for-more-than-good-versus-evil/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Old Republic shows potential for more than good versus evil</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/04/27/the-old-republic-shows-potential-for-more-than-good-versus-evil/">The Old Republic shows potential for more than good versus evil</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 27 Apr 2009 12:00:00 EST.
