Whether or not you're a fan of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Sony-Online-Entertainment/">Sony Online Entertainment</a>, it's hard to deny that the company's <a href="http://station-access.station.sony.com/">Station Pass</a> is a pretty good value for the money. For the price of two monthly subscriptions, you get access to everything from the original <a href="http://www.everquest.com"><em>EverQuest</em></a> to the recently launched <a href="http://www.dcuniverseonline.com"><em>DC Universe Online</em></a>. But if the deal isn't quite good enough for you yet, SOE has just announced that <a href="http://www.zam.com/story.html?story=26663">the access price is dropping once again to $19.99 a month</a>.<br />
<br />
Needless to say, the chance to get nine games at once for only slightly more than the normal subscription fee is a pretty enticing deal for any gamer. While the announcement is not yet reflected in the official site, which is still advertising the previous price, the update will be coming "soon" according to the company's representatives at <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/E3/">E3</a>. Keep your eyes peeled for more information about precise dates for <a href="http://www.zam.com/story.html?story=26663">the change</a>, which should be a boon to current and potential future customers.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/08/sony-online-entertainment-dropping-the-price-for-station-access/">Sony Online Entertainment dropping the price for Station Access</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 08 Jun 2011 18:30:00 EST. Are you one of the many people enjoying the new <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/free-to-play/">free-to-play</a> model for <a href="http://www.lotro.com"><em>Lord of the Rings Online</em></a>? Have you got a couple quest packs to pick up, or have you just been waiting for a sale or a specific need to purchase anything from the game's store? You're in luck then, because for October 13th <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Turbine/">Turbine</a> is letting the Lone-Lands, North Downs, and Evendim be sold for a song -- specifically, they're being <a href="http://www.lotro.com/lotrostoresale/856-24-hour-sale">pegged at 75% off</a>.<br />
<br />
Not only does this mean that all three packs can be picked up for a grand total of $6.50 based off the most recent pricing (and there's a <a href="http://www.lotro.com/lotrostoresale/852-lotro-store-point-promo">bonus point sale going on this week</a>, to boot), but it also means each of the packs contains enough "free" Turbine Points to make back the cost of each. That means that for less than seven dollars, you can walk away with all three quest packs, and after clearing them you'll be back up to where you started in money. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Lord-of-the-Rings-Online/"><em>Lord of the Rings Online</em></a> players are encouraged to <a href="http://www.lotro.com/lotrostoresale/856-24-hour-sale">take a look</a>, but the sale only lasts until midnight of the 13th.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/10/12/get-lord-of-the-rings-online-quest-packs-super-cheap-for-one-day/">Get Lord of the Rings Online quest packs super-cheap for one day only</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 12 Oct 2010 20:30:00 EST. The problem with testing things in any MMO is that so much is contingent upon who decides to log in to the test servers and how much they're willing to play. Ultimately, for all we hate untested dungeons or mechanics or whatever, the only real test for them is to have them go live. <a href="http://www.warhammeronline.com"><em>Warhammer Online</em></a> hasn't had too many problems with their <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/war-patch-1.3.4">most recent patch</a>, but the exact pricing of the newly-introduced RvR weapons has been a bit of a sticky widget. So they've done the most responsible thing possible: they've <a href="http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=1042">gone ahead and tweaked the pricing right away</a>.<br />
<br />
Low-Renown weapons are the most affected by the price cut, but every weapon has been given a nice drop in cost to make the more accessible. The <a href="http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=1042">full announcement</a> goes into some detail about the philosophy behind it, no doubt part of the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/warhammer-online-gets-a-new-producers-letter/">effort at increased transparency</a> from the development team. Best of all, there's no delay in the changes -- they've already gone live and can be enjoyed by all players. So if you feared the long march in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Warhammer-Online/"><em>Warhammer Online</em></a> for a decent weapon from RvR and for RvR, you've had a lucky day indeed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/03/03/warhammer-online-tweaking-their-weapon-prices/">Warhammer Online tweaking their weapon prices</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 03 Mar 2010 09:00:00 EST. When <a href="http://allods.gpotato.com"><em>Allods Online</em></a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/16/allods-online-launches-into-open-beta/">soft-launched on February 16th</a>, it had proven just how much buzz a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/free-to-play/">free-to-play</a> game could generate in a short span of time. Three days later, it proved <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/19/allods-opens-cash-shop-prices-drive-players-insane/">how quickly a game's reputation could plummet</a>, as the release of the cash shop prices sent most players into <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/22/the-daily-grind-soured-on-allods-online/">a paroxysm of rage</a>. The <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/19/allods-online-responds-to-player-concern-over-cash-shop/">official</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/23/allods-online-releases-updated-statement-solicits-player-input/">statements</a> (<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/24/massively-speaking-episode-90-allods-onlines-cash-shop-intervi/">and interviews</a>) were seen as amounting to "well, it's our game so pay up," and the crowd was quickly turning around and heading for the hills. So an age-old strategy has been employed: the powers that be are reversing their position<br />
<br />
The <a href="http://allods.gpotato.com/news/2010/03/01/upcoming-revisions-to-allods-online-item-shop/">official announcement</a> doesn't give any details, but it makes it clear that the community outrage has been heard, and the cash shop prices will be revised sometime this week. The structuring has been changed to make "<em>participation in this element of the game</em>" less onerous, and no doubt to try and reverse some of the animosity leveled against <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Astrum-Nival/">Astrum Nival</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/gPotato/">gPotato</a> in recent days. It remains to be seen whether or not the turnaround will mollify players or if the changes will be too little too late, but it's good to see that the voice of the players has been heard all through <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Allods-Online/"><em>Allods Online</em></a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/03/01/allods-online-announces-changes-to-cash-shop-pricing/">Allods Online announces changes to cash shop pricing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 01 Mar 2010 19:00:00 EST. The upcoming sandbox MMO from <a href="http://www.starvault.se/">Star Vault</a>, <a href="http://www.mortalonline.com"><em>Mortal Online</em></a>, is <a href="http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/31725-open-beta.html">finally entering its awaited open beta on February 1st</a>. While the game has been in testing for quite some time, getting beta access meant pre-ordering a copy of the game, which turned several people off from the idea. But not only is the game going to become easier to take part in testing starting on Monday, there are two carrots thrown in to help entice players.<br />
<br />
First off, any existing beta characters will not be wiped upon the commencement of open beta. That means anyone already playing, whether in the closed beta or as part of the game's recent stress test, will get to keep their character that they've worked on. Second, <a href="http://www.mortalonline.com/news/open-beta">while in open beta the game's price will be dropped</a> by five euros (about $7), which means that if you like the game, it's even easier to decide to make it a full-time home.<br />
<br />
Downsides? Only one - as community manager <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Maerlyn/">Maerlyn</a> <a href="http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/31725-open-beta.html">points out</a>, the testing will be based on a single server cluster in Stockholm, so their may be server caps or slight connection issues depending on distance. But that's hardly enough to take away from the good news. If you've been waiting for <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Mortal-Online/">Mortal Online</a></em>, your day is almost here.<br />

If there was ever a benevolent government in these rough financial times, it's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Conan">King Conan</a>'s monarchy. But we don't honor him for the order that he brings to the <a href="http://www.ageofconan.com">lands of Hyboria</a> and not for rippling muscles and barbarian tactics that he brings to the throne. We honor him today for the price drop!<br />
<br />
While the usual $15 a month price hasn't changed, the 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month <a href="http://community.ageofconan.com/wsp/conan/frontend.cgi?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=rss&amp;utm_content=front_page_news&amp;func=publish.show&amp;template=content&amp;func_id=3029&amp;table=CONTENT">prices have dropped</a>. The 3 month now offers a 20% discount, the 6 month is a 30% discount, and the 12 month subscription is now a 45% discount.<br />
<br />
This brings the prices to $99 for the 12 month, $63 for the 6 month, and $36 for the 3 month. Certainly good news for anyone who's been sucked in by the barbarians, or looking forward to the release of <a href="http://www.riseofthegodslayer.com/"><em>Rise of the Godslayer</em></a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/king-conan-lowers-prices-on-long-term-subscriptions-for-all/">King Conan lowers prices on long-term subscriptions for all</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 26 Oct 2009 11:00:00 EST. As a final humiliation to what might be, according <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/fury?q=fury">to the reviews</a>, the worst MMO of the year, <a href="http://www.warcry.com/news/view/79097-Fury-Christmas-Price-Drop-Promo">WarCry reports</a> that EB Games is now selling <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/fury"><em>Fury</em></a> for <a href="http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=647055">only $29.99</a>. Yes, for only $30, you too can play the game that reviewers said "fails on literally every front."<br /><br />Poor <em>Fury</em>. They tried so hard, and failed so, so badly. The devs over there are still <a href="http://www.unleashthefury.com/pub/newsletter/bossman-15112007.html">holding on as hard as they can</a>-- they promise that things will get better and that things will get fixed soon. But when retailers drop your game's price by $20 in the first month of release, the writing is on the wall. Better luck next time, <a href="http://www.auran.com/">Auran</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/11/19/fury-drops-in-price-still-sucks/">Fury drops in price, still sucks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 19 Nov 2007 19:30:00 EST.
