You can imagine - once people heard that Onyxia was being retooled so that players could take her out and land themselves a shiny new pet - the frenzy was on. This image of insane amounts of Dragonkin carnage in World of Warcraft comes to us from Mr. P. who didn't send any other note along other than to explain it was from the PTRs outside of Ony's lair. That said, knowing World of Warcraft fiends like we do, we know someone out there with skinning is looking at this picture right now and twitching, just because there are so many skins to be had - and nobody is cleaning them up!

One Shots is in need of your screenshots, so while you're out getting your game time in, why not send us some of your images! It's easy to do. An MMO nerd logs into a bar and tells his online buddies, "Hey, did you hear Mark Kern was just appointed as the chairman and chief creative officer at Red 5 Studios?" To which they replied, "Who?" Mouth agape, the MMO nerd shoots his arms into the air and explodes with, "The dude who totally helped create World of Warcraft!" The friends look between each other, searching for a response to their fellows' immense piece of news. "Well, if he's so great, why isn't he still in charge of World of Warcraft?" they replied, satisfied with their obviously unbeatable intellectual retort.

The nerd replied, "Well that's simple, he wanted a creative challenge and working on the world's most successful MMO simply wasn't enough for him." Smug with a sense of victory, the nerd logged out and prepared a post.

But seriously, Mark Kern is taking lead point on development of Red 5 Studio's big secret MMO project. That means whatever game he's helping to create could be considered, in a way, as the spiritual successor to World of Warcraft.

Ingmar sends in this excellent shot of the dragon Onyxia in World of Warcraft, one of the game's earliest raid bosses. Forty level 60 players had to complete a lengthy attunement quest to enter Onyxia's lair and fight her, often finding themselves burned to a crisp by her fire attacks or overwhelmed by the young dragon whelps who would come to their mother's aid. Ingmar tells us that this attempt was a wipe, but "not because I was taking screenshots instead of paying attention to the raid." Hey, Ingmar, you don't have to explain yourself to us -- we've always found that being dead provides the best opportunity to take lovely screenshots of the world around you.
