While still <em>technically </em>beta, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/neverwinter"><em>Neverwinter</em></a> joined the rank and file of MMOverse three weeks ago with a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/04/30/neverwinters-open-beta-soft-launches-today/">soft launch</a>. Since then, the game has experienced its share of issues, bugs, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/05/08/neverwinter-counters-foundry-exploit-by-nerfing-xp-rate/">exploits</a>. To address those, as well as give players a heads-up on what's incoming, Lead Producer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/andy-velasquez/">Andy Velasquez</a> shared the fantasy game's first <a href="http://nw.perfectworld.com/news/?p=896631">State of the Game address</a>.<br />
<br />
Velasquez jumped right into discussing the bugs and exploits that have affected the game since open beta started and outlined the fixes that were implemented to squash them. He went on to talk about the top issues that the team was working on currently and then reveal what players can expect to see in the next few weeks. A Public Test Shard is coming to <em>Neverwinter</em> (to hopefully catch bugs and exploits before going live), as is new endgame raid PvE/PvP content called Gauntlgrym. It doesn't matter one iota what I had planned to talk about today, regardless of how phenomenal it may have been. The fact that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/The-Last-Train-to-Cairo/">The Last Train to Cairo</a> has pulled into the station means I'm hopping on it! Yes, <em><a href="http://www.thesecretworld.com/">The Secret World's</a></em> latest update hit this week with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/03/13/the-secret-worlds-issue-6-launches-tomorrow/">barely a day's warning</a> and (thanks to my lifetime membership), I've been sinking my teeth into it since last Thursday.<br />

However, in the interest of full disclosure, I have to say that I have not boarded the actual train part of the adventure. I had no interest in blowing through the new content in just a couple of days; I prefer to savor the new goodies. In fact, the next content update will be hitting servers sooner than many expected; <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/The-Last-Train-to-Cairo/">Issue # 6 The Last Train to Cairo</a> is scheduled to go live in the beginning of March. While no exact date has been given yet, paid members will get two days of early access to the content.<br />
	<br />
	What awaits denizens of <em>The Secret World</em> in this latest issue? A new storyline, a new foe (of raid proportions), the new veteran reward system, PvP ranking, and a new auxiliary weapon are all a part of this update. A new recruitment system will also be implemented, granting points equal to one month of membership for every new recruit.<br />
	<br />
	In an effort to contain the evil spreading through the sands of Egypt, players will delve deeper into the past of the desert land by actually traveling back in time to uncover powerful artifacts. Remember that petrified undead arms dealer, Said? Tap into his wisdom for advice on working against the cultists and their dark prophet Abdel Daoud. With <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Path-of-Exile/"><em>Path of Exile's</em></a> open beta well under way, players can expect changes here and there as issues are addressed and bugs are squashed. Yesterday, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Grinding-Gear-Games/">Grinding Gear Games</a> rolled out a new update that included reworked audio and updated artwork as well as added 11 new types of maps. Full details can be found in the <a href="http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/137281">0.10.1 patch notes</a>.<br />

Although not deployed yet, players can also expect other changes in this patch series including minion targeting, high-level mods in items, and improved livestreaming features. Then the next big patch, 0.10.2, will mark the beginning of the open beta content schedule that promises even more core content.<br />

I do not play <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Warhammer-Online/">Warhammer Online</a></em> any longer, but it holds a special place in my heart. I greatly enjoyed playing the game when it was selected for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Choose-My-Adventure/">Choose My Adventure</a> back in the day, and I still hold out hope that the game will emerge from its slow stagnancy to be some sort of WAAAGH-based phoenix. The odds of that happening are low, but I'd love to see it happen just the same.<br />
<br />
Games have a life cycle, and after a certain point, even the most beloved online title slips into a maintenance mode. But we all have titles that we'd love to see get updates once again, allowing us to relive the glory days. This isn't about games that had been shut down; this is about games that are still running but are no longer at the forefront of the gaming zeitgeist. So what game do you still hope will be revitalized, even if you don't expect it to happen? Not all regions are created equally, and that's something <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> devs are fixing. No, that doesn't mean all regions will be boring carbon copies. But it does mean that devs are adding content to the eight different areas known collectively as the Drone Regions to bring them more in line with the rest of the New Eden cluster.<br />
<br />
When the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/retribution"><em>Retribution</em></a> expansion hits in December, the Drone Regions (so named for the special drone content located within them) will be getting four officer spawns, five officer modules, and hauler spawns scattered throughout the sectors. Salvage from NPCs is also getting a buff to increase it to the levels seen elsewhere in the game, and rogue drones will give sec status.<br />

Being able to fly is all well and good, but why fly through the skies unaided when you could sit safely inside the chassis of a heavily armored warplane? That's the idea behind <a href="http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/11/05/champions-onlines-vehicle-system-revealed-goes-swoosh/">the new vehicle system</a> coming to <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Champions-Online/">Champions Online</a></em> later this week, which will offer players a variety of new rides and ways to enhance those same rides. After all, you deserve to give your legs a rest. Or your arms. Or whatever muscle you flex to fly with no visible means of propulsion.<br />

The vehicle system will start off by offering players just two choices -- jets and hovertanks -- but more will be available in the future. Each vehicle chassis offers a certain set of base stats, which can be further improved by slotting in vehicle equipment from the new vehicle missions. Players were so excited about some of the announcements made in yesterday's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/everquest-ii"><em>EveryQuest II's</em></a> panel on mechanics for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/chains-of-eternity/"><em>Chains of Eternity</em></a> at <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/SOE-Live-2012/">SOE Live</a> that the room erupted into applause multiple times. What types of goodies brokered this response from attendees? How about new tradeskill specializations (including a separate AA pool and a gathering sidekick that can harvest rares!), new guild amenities, new adornments, and even adornment removers?<br />

Of course, those aren't the only incoming changes. The community team behind <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></em> hosted a livestream, and as you can probably imagine, the whole session has been recorded already by the team from <a href="http://www.darthhater.com">Darth Hater</a> for your viewing pleasure. For those currently playing, HK-51 can be expected before the end of the year, with Cathar getting a somewhat more ambiguous release of whenever the species is ready. There will also be other species to be unlocked when the free-to-play conversion goes live, along with moddable gear (without endgame stats), mounts, and pets. The team is also looking into implementing a hood toggle for the Force-using classes of the game and scaling content down in difficulty for smaller groups of players. The Wild West is coming to <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/uncharted-waters-online/">Uncharted Waters Online</a></em>, bringing with it the chance to explore and discover national monuments in the prairies, grasslands, and steppes of the North American continent. The <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/The-Great-Plains/"><em>Great Plains</em></a> expansion, the third chapter of the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/tierra-americana/"><em>Tierra Americana</em></a> expansion, also introduces a new colony that is the only place in the world where certain grains can grow, which encourages players to build their own cities in that region.<br />

What else can seafaring adventures expect in this expansion? The chance to visit the scholarly city of Oxford, the ability to learn the pirate code, new vessels, and new ways to store stuff are all included. <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Ultima-Online/">Ultima Online</a></em> is preparing a continuation of the game's latest global arc with <a href="http://www.uoherald.com/node/597?utm_source=twitterfeed&amp;utm_medium=twitter">tomorrow's patch</a>. Act VI of The Awakening asks players to assist in crafting a number of alchemical preparations, with a number of rewards available for players who actively try to crack the puzzle of the correct ingredients. More information will be available from the official site as well as an in-game NPC. If you need more time to prepare, don't worry -- the quest is going active in July and lasting until mid-August.<br />
<br />
If you're not willing to wait, the new patch also sees a revamp of the Covetous Dungeon. The first floor remains largely unchanged, but levels two and three both feature a new system for the game in which players accumulate points for defeating monsters that can later be turned in for new rewards. Shields generally aren't thought of as a weapon; they're usually seen as the exact <em>opposite</em> of a weapon. But in the superheroic milieu, all that changes. A shield is something to be used offensively, and in <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/DC-Universe-Online/">DC Universe Online</a></em>'s next major update, players will begin wielding the shield for their own superheroic (or villainous) capers. <a href="http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/17/exclusive-behind-the-scenes-look-at-dc-universe-onlines-next-weapon-type-the-shield/">A recent interview</a> with creative director <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Jens-Andersen/">Jens Andersen</a> discusses the intended role of the shield in combat.<br />
<br />
Andersen explains that while the new weapon comes along in a very PvP-centered update, it's not meant to be used specifically for PvP; the team just wants to have something new for players to enjoy no matter what. In play, shields are similar to a staff weapon, but unlike most other weapons, the shield can continue to build a combo after a heavy strike by moving back to light strikes. It's really hard to imagine anything in the saccharine world of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Spirit-Tales/">Spirit Tales</a></em> being properly termed a crisis, but the game's newest update is aiming in that direction. <a href="http://forum.koramgame.com/thread-60427-1-1.html">The Crisis of Jade Forest</a> goes live on May 23rd, giving players a chance to tackle an extra-difficult version of the normal Jade Forest area with extra boss-enriched goodness. Successful players have plenty of motivation, however, as the reward for completion involves a chest that could contain items normally reserved for the game's item mall.<br />

Groups of up to five players can enter the battle once per day, which fills the area with deadly monsters and 10 special bosses. Converting a game from a subscription model is hard work. That's the theme throughout <a href="http://www.startrekonline.com/node/3148">the latest installment</a> of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Trek-Online/">Star Trek Online</a></em>'s regular <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Ask-Cryptic/">Ask Cryptic</a> feature: The reason that the game has gone for so long without major batches of new content is that the team has been wholly focused on switching models. But there's more coming to the game in the near future, starting with the major <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/sto-Season-6/">Season 6</a> patch hitting the test server soon.<br />

The coming patch will feature new ground and space missions similar to STFs without being quite the same sort of content. The primals are among the greatest forces within Eorzea, something that <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantasy-XIV/">Final Fantasy XIV</a></em> players are no doubt acutely aware of after the clash with Ifrit. The second primal battle is coming, pitting players against Garuda, deity of the Ixali. That means another pitched battle against a superior foe in the Howling Eye, a battle which the official site has <a href="http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/topics/detail?id=2db6ff94d8971fb061085efefc0bcefe4ae333c8">just recently previewed</a> with a video of the fight in hard mode and a video preview of the new weapon rewards.<br />

According to the lore, the Ixali revere Garuda as the Empress of Birds, a soaring deity who maintains an appetite for the flesh of land-dwelling creatures. She is the incarnate strength of the bird-men as well as a source of great terror. But just as with Ifrit, players who defeat her can expect to have a variety of fantastic weapons, as illustrated in the video just past the break. Just be careful -- if you aren't on the ball when you fight her, you could find yourself <a href="http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/topics/detail?id=2db6ff94d8971fb061085efefc0bcefe4ae333c8">completely blown away</a>.<br />

Yesterday, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/bioware">BioWare</a> invited some members of the press to take part in a guided tour of the latest update for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. In recent <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hyperspace-beacon/">Hyperspace Beacons</a>, we've covered everything from the user interface changes to the crew skills system. However, the specifics of some of the new story content have been a bit sparse. Thanks to help from BioWare, that's now changed.<br />

Beyond the break, we have put together a 15-minute video describing the ins and outs of the latest flashpoint: The Lost Island. The most basic superhero stories are pretty simple -- a villain is attacking the city and the hero has to go stop him or her. That's the spirit behind the new SMASH Alerts coming to the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Champions-Online/">Champions Online</a></em> test realm, <a href="http://www.champions-online.com/node/595669">quick instances that pit players against signature villains in a straight-up brawl</a>. The villain may or may not have any minions, but the real test is to see if the heroes can knock out the villain within the time limit.<br />
<br />
Players will notice that the new Alert system also has gained a new minimap icon and improved queue functionality, allowing you to sign up for a quick and dirty brawl with your nemesis of choice from anywhere. There are also new team-up GRAB Alerts available for testing against paired villains, which should give every hero a chance to pop in and beat the living daylights out of a villain up to no good. I've tried to be patient. I really have. I even avoided any wayward glances at <em><a href="http://na.aiononline.com/">Aion's</a></em> Korean <a href="http://gameguide.na.aiononline.com/aion/Korean+PTS%3A+Initial+3.0+Patch+Notes">patch notes</a> (translated, of course) for 3.0. That way, I could contain my excitement a little better. I mean, we already know I am dying for housing, and I also know mounts are involved. But there is always so much more, and I was trying to make the wait more bearable. I stood firm in my resolve.<br />

Then I broke down. I peeked. And oh how the many-tendriled beast of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/03/07/wings-over-atreia-anticipaaaaaaaaaaaation/">anticipation</a> took hold of me once again! Of course there is always the requisite "fixed this bug" and "changed that appearance" filler, but when mining deeper, you also find some definite valuable nuggets. <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/aion">Aion's</a></em> next patch has some "how cool," some "oh wow, that's really unexpected," and some "about time!" thrown in as well. The devs have provided a handy summary post and a bit of an explanation for their narrative goals as both <em>Guild Wars</em> and its highly anticipated sequel move forward.<br />

ArenaNet also acknowledges the community feedback regarding the difficulty of the Winds of Change content, and the firm says that initially "the difficulty was getting in the way of people enjoying the story, making it far more of a slog than we'd intended and actively undermining their enjoyment of it."<br />

We knew that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/allods-online"><em>Allods</em></a>' latest expansion was coming soon. We didn't know exactly when, though. Thanks to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/gpotato">gPotato</a>, we're now comfortable penciling in February 15th on our free-to-play fantasy calendar.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/game-of-gods"><em>Game of Gods</em></a> is "the biggest expansion ever to hit <em>Allods Online</em>," and it will bring a new Bard class, objective-driven PvP arenas, and new raids to the table. New weapons and armor, new allods and astral layers, and some sort of loot-drop lottery card system are also on the way. That's not all, though, and the game's official website has a full listing of the patch's features and functionality.<br />

What's next for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/rift"><em>RIFT</em></a>? Well, the 1.7 patch, for starters. The update is called <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/carnival-of-the-ascended">Carnival of the Ascended</a>, and if it sounds a bit festive, it is. Telaran weddings are in the offing, as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/trion">Trion</a> is introducing a marriage mechanic to its fantasy MMO. There's also the new River of Souls Chronicle, which the official forums bill as an "undead adventure for two."<br />
<br />
A new master mode dungeon is coming too, as is an expert dungeon overhaul with more options and better loot for endgame avatars. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a> is less than a week old, and many players are already wondering if and when <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/bioware">BioWare</a> is going to add new content. Yes, there are some 50s on the servers already, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/james-ohlen">James Ohlen</a> has <a href="http://www.swtor.com/blog/sneak-peek-james-ohlen">penned a post</a> on the game's official website that should excite those who have already rushed through the game's content.<br />
<br />
For starters, January will bring a new flashpoint to the game as well as an expanded operation instance. The former "takes place on a brand new world and involves some pretty epic battles." The latter "takes the existing Karagga's palace scenario and more than triples it in size."<br />
<br />
Ohlen says that's just the beginning, too, and BioWare plans on releasing similar new content with regularity. Finally, players concerned over the company's ability to add new story (and voiceover content) will want to check out writer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/alexander-freed">Alexander Freed's</a> post on the <a href="http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=692033#edit692033">official forums</a>. In a nutshell, he says not to worry, as BioWare does have voice actors under contract and can proceed with development without adding much time to the content creation process.<br />

It's not really a proper fantasy game until you've fought your way through animated fungi, right? That's the premise of the newest dungeon in <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RuneScape/">RuneScape</a></em>, the <a href="http://services.runescape.com/m=news/polypore-dungeon">just-added Polypore Dungeon</a>. Deep within the dungeon lives a solitary skinweaver who was born to be a healer, but she's turned her powers to creating animated fungi for her own amusement. With her only other companion an ancient merchant that no longer has all of his faculties, her domain isn't a prime vacation spot... unless, of course, you're a skilled adventurer looking for new items and new craftable armor.<br />
<br />
The new dungeon can be reached north of the Duel Arena bank, with most of its contents requiring a high level in various skills. The inhabitants are non-aggressive, however, allowing any and all members to take a look at the place freely. Comic book geeks rejoice! Well, digital comic book geeks, that is. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/champions-online"><em>Champions Online</em></a> has just announced the first issue of its second Comic Series content update. The new stuff is called Whiteout, and like the previous series (Aftershock), it spans multiple weekly issues that take the form of free content packs.<br />
<br />
The <em>Champions</em> website says that Comic Series are designed to take you on an "exciting adventure in which you'll encounter new creatures and environments, all the while playing through an intriguing story." <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/cryptic">Cryptic</a> executive producer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/stephen-dangelo">Stephen D'Angelo</a> has posted another <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-trek-online"><em>Star Trek Online</em></a> Path to F2P dev diary. For the 23rd installment (yes, 23!), D'Angelo outlines a near future roadmap for the game as the business model transition continues.<br />

D'Angelo says that <em>STO</em> will boast a Featured Episode Replay event for the remainder of November on the live server. The first week of December should see a new game build migrating to the live shard from the Tribble test server. It's patch day in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/martial-empires"><em>Martial Empires</em></a>, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/gamigo">gamigo</a> has a hellish road in store for fans of the free-to-play action MMO. The Path to Purgatory update features a new survival mode challenge that pits players against hordes of monsters as they carve their way through 32 levels of a gigantic tower.<br />
<br />
There's also a big nasty waiting at the end of the challenge, and that's only part of the package. The update also features various mounts and battle pets, guild research functionality, and a new quest series that stretches from level one through 55. gamigo is also planning a number of in-game events, according to its latest press release, and you can learn more about <em>Martial Empires</em> on the game's official website.<br />

<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp">CCP's</a> feel-good post count has been building to a fever pitch in recent weeks, and today the company has announced the ultimate win-back promotion in the form of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online's</em></a> 15th major expansion. The content drop is called <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/eve-crucible"><em>Crucible</em></a>, and it's currently scheduled to debut on November 29th.<br />

"<em>Crucible</em> evolves the graphics, interface, and game mechanics with over three dozen updated and improved features based on feedback and challenges put forth by its players. This is <em>EVE</em> re-forged," CCP says on the expansion's teaser page. Get ready, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/runes-of-magic"><em>Runes of Magic</em></a> fans. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/frogster">Frogster</a> has unveiled a brand-spanking-new trailer for the fantasy title's upcoming Souls of the Past content patch. According to a developer post on the game's <a href="http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?s=acaaa134c376cd40f8d8efd86d78f45e&amp;p=483414#post483414">official boards</a>, the update will go live on November 22nd and will feature a level cap increase as well as a new adventuring region.<br />
<br />
Players will be able to advance from 67 to 70, and they'll also be able to explore Tergothen Bay, a royal coastal town near the foothills of the Redhill Mountains. The trailer is short, but it shows off a few of the big nasties awaiting players in the region's new dungeon. It also touches on the lore behind the new content, and specifically how the demon Sismond continues to manipulate the citizens of Taborea. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/bounty-hounds-online"><em>Bounty Hounds Online</em></a> is talking up its AAA characteristics in the latest press release from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/wicked-interactive">Wicked Interactive</a>. According to the blurb, the sci-fi MMORPG "brings triple-A quality to the free-to-play genre" and allows players to choose from five different mercenary class types while directing their avatars through "multiple worlds and environments."<br />
<br />
Beginning today, Wicked is rolling out a substantial update to the title's closed beta client. The new content includes five high-level Cambria group instances. There are also new missions and events on tap including objectives in the Wastelands that give both stat and skill point reset items. Finally, earned character titles now unlock unique stat-boost accessories, and XP requirements have been adjusted "so you'll spend less time grinding."<br />

Bugs and design issues are present even in the universe of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Trek-Online/">Star Trek Online</a></em>, ranging from irritating interface bugs on ship consoles to the apparently frequent bug that causes the holodeck to nearly kill everyone on the ship every few weeks. They also crop up in the game itself, of course, but as outlined in <a href="http://www.startrekonline.com/node/2681">the latest Path to F2P blog</a>, the development team is focusing in closely on trying to eliminate several bugs and design issues currently in the game.<br />
<br />
Patrol missions, for instance, are being changed from a flat sequence of isolated system missions into a more freeform system that scales with level. Crafting changes are also being put in place, giving players "material blocks" to work with that are purchase via dilithium, thereby allowing fleets and groups of players to shunt crafting resources toward a single player. <a href="http://www.startrekonline.com/node/2681">The entry</a> also hints at an entirely new form of content coming to the test server over the next month, although players will have to wait to find out what that means.<br />

Hey kids, it's a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/dawntide"><em>Dawntide</em></a> update! Yes, really. The fantasy sandbox from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/working-as-intended">Working As Intended</a> has been quiet since delaying its planned October 1st release date, but today the devs have issued a <a href="http://www.dawntide.net/2011/10/8962">brief blurb</a> on the game's official website that suggests a bit of hope for the future.<br />
<br />
As it turns out, the delayed release was the result of a funding shortage, but now WAI has secured a new source and the team has "reassembled to resume development." A new patch is due October 17th, and a new release date announcement should roll in before the end of the month. WAI also takes a moment to tip its collective cap to <em>Dawntide's</em> hearty faithful. "Thanks for sticking with us through the rough times, and we still intend to release the best sandbox MMO out there," the site says.<br />

If you're a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/forsaken-world"><em>Forsaken World</em></a> fan, you might be interested to know that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/perfect-world-entertainment">Perfect World Entertainment</a> has announced plans for the game's next content update. According to <a href="http://www.mmocrunch.com/2011/10/05/forsaken-world-announces-storms-of-war/">MMO Crunch</a>, it's unclear whether the Storms of War patch is a full-blown expansion or a smaller-scale update. Either way, there's new stuff coming.<br />
<br />
Some enterprising <em>Forsaken World</em> forum-dwellers have pieced together what they believe to be a feature list for the new content drop, but since Perfect World's Asian-market releases are normally months ahead of the American and European clients, none of the info has been confirmed.<br />

Listen up, Superman fans, as today's patch brings about the second phase of a three-part raid in which players must stop Brainiac from harnessing Kryptonian technology and using it to destroy the entire planet. The update, appropriately titled The Fate of the Fortress, features Superman's iconic arctic hideout known as the Fortress of Solitude, and the patch allows would-be heroes to team up with Kal-El, Lex Luthor, and their fellow players to tackle a challenging eight-man group combat raid.<br />
<br />
There's a bunch of new loot to be had as well, and today's update also features a new hard-mode option for the HIVE tier-two alert as well as a new Batcave PvP map. Finally, SOE has incorporated a new dueling mechanic into <em>DCUO</em>, so fire up your launchpads, button up your underoos, and get ready to save Gotham City and Metropolis from the clutches of the megalomaniacal Brainiac.<br />

<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/age-of-conan"><em>Age of Conan's</em></a> latest monthly development update is <a href="http://ageofconan.com/news/monthly_development_update_september_2011">hot off the presses</a>, and it's kind of a doozy. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/funcom">Funcom</a> game director Craig "<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/craig-morrison">Silirrion</a>" Morrison takes the gloves off and lists five major updates coming to <em>AoC</em> over the next year -- and he also offers a few disclaimers in terms of schedule changes and dates. As far as content goes, fans can look forward to new Turan boss encounters, the House of Crom dungeon, tier four raids, and a major Dreamworld/quality-of-life update prior to the end of the year.<br />
<br />
Moving into 2012, <em>Age of Conan</em> will be adding a new multi-feat specification system (apparently the feature was a landslide winner in the recent summer survey). The devs will also be giving Priest archetypes some "care and attention" as well as implementing the single-server tech that will allow for cross-server minigames and "all manner of cool things." There will also be new variants on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/17/the-anvil-of-crom-once-more-unto-the-breach-dear-friends/">The Breach</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/31/the-anvil-of-crom-a-look-inside-the-forgotten-city/">The Forgotten City</a>, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/18/the-anvil-of-crom-playing-through-dead-mans-hand/">Dead Man's Hand</a> dungeons, all balanced for high-level characters.<br />
<br />
Finally, the second quarter of 2012 is the tentative launch date for <em>AoC's</em> latest adventure pack as well as the tradeskill revamp. The list of features being added to <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantasy-XIV/">Final Fantasy XIV</a></em> in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ffxiv-patch-1.19/">patch 1.19</a> just keeps growing. Not only will players be able to ride on the back of a chocobo, but a new set of missions for caravan defense will let players <a href="http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/23775-dev1137-Caravan-Security?p=338362#post338362">beat marauding fiends away from those selfsame yellow birds</a>. And there are even Grand Company seals to be obtained in the exchange, which just sweetens the deal for players investing time and effort into the system.<br />
<br />
Each of the Grand Companies will have a different caravan to protect and will enlist the aid of full members in ensuring the caravan's safety during its march from an aetheryte camp to one of the nearby hamlets. Monsters will attack the caravan in turn, sometimes driving off birds and sometimes outright damaging the cargo, and it will be up to players to feed, calm, and protect the chocobos laden with supplies. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/wargaming.net">Wargaming.net</a> has gifted <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/world-of-tanks"><em>World of Tanks</em></a> fans with a development roadmap for the World War II-based action MMO, and a visit to the game's official website will give you a preview of what's coming down the pike over the next year.<br />
<br />
The post lays out quite a bit of information, most of it marked with vague release windows like Q3 2012 and so on. There's the standard "dates are subject to change" disclaimer, but it's nonetheless interesting to see what looks to be a fairly complete development schedule. What are the highlights? Well, more tank models, of course, followed by new game types including historical battle, escort, garage battle, assault, and company battle modes.<br />
<br />
There's also an expansion of the clan wars map in the works, as well as new customization options, vehicle physics, and more.<br />

Well, the latest dev update, for starters, and I apologize in advance for reneging on last week's promise to devote today's column to a deeper examination of the new <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/savage-coast-of-turan">Savage Coast of Turan</a> content. The last time we met, I gave you a quick rundown on the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/04/the-anvil-of-crom-savage-coast-first-impressions/">Ardashir Coast</a>, but with all due respect to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/funcom">Funcom's</a> content designers, the most interesting bit of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/age-of-conan"><em>Age of Conan</em></a> news from the last little while is the crafting revamp that Silirrion hinted at in the August 31st update letter.<br />
