Second icon to the right, and straight on till morning, or so the log-in instructions for Neverland Online go. For fans of the MMO, OPI Games is pleased to announce a new guild hall system that not only offers housing, but a communal focus for building the structure. Guilds will need to work together to complete three different types of quests to contribute to their guild activity, which may then be used to increase the size and function of the guild hall.

Ordinary quests are free to pick up, and require the standard "kill 10 rats" objectives that MMO players are used to doing. If guildies want to increase their activity levels, they can fork over silver and gold for Important and Mystery quests, respectively, for a bigger bump in contributions. Once the guild hall is upgraded enough, Neverland Online players can purchase gear from the guild mall that they can't find anywhere else.

The guild hall system comes on the heels of a whole slew of game updates that landed last month.

OPI Games announced the new version of Neverland Online due to reach us around the end of March. Neverland Online boasts thousands of players, a huge immersive world with thousands of quests, a robust pet system, gathering and crafting and casual game play. It's free to play and will run directly in your browser so it's easy to jump in and try.

The new version will add many welcome changes and additions to the game, here's a list of highlights:

  • A new mount system: Rebirth players can visit Tristone Taoist in Echo Dale to claim the quest of the Legend of the Beast, obtaining a mount after they successfully finish. Players can then learn more mount skills from Tristone Taoist
  • New bosses in the level 25-level 95 Wild map
  • A new Guild Lobby for players to hang out in
  • 3 new instances including Sabre Versus Sword for level 28+, Monsters Valley for level 80+ and The Burning Village for level 90+
  • New items like Heavenly Red Ribbon，Demon Binding Chain, Chaos Bag and more
  • New items like the Gold Rope or Taoist Jug that players can use to catch the Clam Sprite in the Underwater World

Chinese MMO developer Oak Pacific Interactive (OPI) has been enjoying great success at home, and now wants to expand that success. Their popular game Neverland Online, launched in China in June of 2008 is coming to North America and Europe in an English language version. Neverland Online is a browser based, side scrolling fantasy game set in a mythical ancient Chinese world. Your job is to defeat the threatening demon army with a wide array of pets and equipment to help you out.

Neverland Online is now in open beta, and you can register for an account here to give it a look. For a limited time, players can log in and receive a free "lucky bag" containing $100 worth of virtual items that will come in handy as you play. All beta accounts will be saved, so you will get to keep your freebies once the game goes live.
