<div align="left">As some have noticed, the Smokywood Pastures goblins appear to be ramping up for the <a href="http://www.wowinsider.com/tag/feast-of-winter-veil">Feast of Winter Veil</a> in <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a>. Among the many things you can get as part of your treats is a snowman costume like in the above screenshot, sent in to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/One-Shots/">One Shots</a> by Veng, who plays an (ultra-rare) female Orc Warrior on the Lothar server. Of course, when you couple the costume with running an instance like oldschool <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a></em> 40-man raid favorite, <a href="http://www.wowwiki.com/Molten_Core">Molten Core</a>, things can get pretty interesting. This year we suspect we'll see a few more situations like this as players not only gobble up those Smokywood Pastures goods and chase their old world raid achievements. (Ragnaros is one of the boss kills that didn't retroactively credit in the new achievement system.) And hey - don't forget to bring your <a href="http://www.wowwiki.com/Eternal_Quintessence">Eternal Quintessence</a>, even if you are a snowman!<br /><br />Have you got an old-school screenshot from back in the day that you'd like to show off? Perhaps some type of holiday screenshot from last year's (or earlier) holiday events you can share with us? Whatever MMO you love to play, send those screenshots to us here at <strong>oneshots AT massively DOT com</strong> along with your name and a quick description. (Server and guild welcome too - even a holiday greeting for your guildies!) We'll post it out here and share the love. <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/">One Shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2704109"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os864_eq2_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2700179"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os863_fe_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2695825"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os862_lotro_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2691569"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os861_co_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2687909"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os860_wow_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></div>

Earlier this year, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/01/blizzard-wins-the-prank-wars/">Blizzard won the prank wars with <em>Molten Core</em></a>, a faux ATARI game based on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/world-of-warcraft"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a>'s Molten Core raid complete with eight directions of movement, glorious 2D graphics and, yes, sound. We bet you thought that was just a joke, and that everyone would have forgotten about it after a week had gone by, but guess what? It's back, and this time it's real!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.gamersuniversity.com/?page_id=209">Gamer's University made a "port" of the ATARI game for WIndows PCs</a>, and it includes all that was promised in Blizzard's trailer. One player plays as a priest, the other as a warrior, and each has eight movement directions and one action button (heal for the priest, attack for the warrior) with which to defeat the ten bosses. Hard to believe people used to pay big bucks for these sorts of games, isn't it?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=319065">Eurogamer</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/12/02/world-of-warcraft-molten-core-raid-for-atari-becomes-reality/">World of Warcraft Molten Core raid for ATARI becomes reality</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 02 Dec 2008 10:00:00 EST. <div align="left">One of the things that we heard about people doing over the recent holiday weekend was tackling legacy content. Why? Well, what we heard was mostly about how with people traveling, lots of raid schedules were changed. This meant "whoever can show up" groupings seemed to occur, with many of them heading for old raids (like the above Molten Core raid in <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a>) for fun. <br /><br />Of course, this got us to thinking.... Does anyone just run old content for the fun of it -- at least, beyond the occasional raid-schedule disruption? Are you more focused on progressing in your game of choice? If you do like to check out old-school content, what is it about it that draws you? Did you never do it before? Did you prefer the mechanics? Or maybe you just like the storylines better. Let us know!</div>

Well, what else would you expect from the company that brought you murlocs? April Fool's day is in full effect in Blizzardlandia, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a></em> isn't the only game to get the treatment, but it's a good place to start!<br /><br /><strong>Molten Core: for consoles</strong><br />Heavily trading on fond gamer memories of Atari's <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_%28Atari_2600%29">Adventure</a></em>, Blizzard brings us the console version of its popular 40-player raid dungeon Molten Core. The game's site features screenshots alongside concept art, and a trailer, even, with an <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8-bit">8-bit</a>, pixelated version of the company's logo. We won't spoil the show for you, but the best bullet point for the game has to be 'Has sound'. <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/moltencore/">Check it out</a> and wait for your chance to pre-order!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/01/blizzard-wins-the-prank-wars/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Blizzard wins the prank wars</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/01/blizzard-wins-the-prank-wars/">Blizzard wins the prank wars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 01 Apr 2008 20:00:00 EST. From electroshock therapy to involuntary isolation, take your pick.<br /><br />That's disturbing enough in itself, but personally? I've never considered internet usage to be addiction. Let alone MMOs, which are always at the heart of the argument. Would we send people to addiction clinics for watching too much TV? Reading too many books? Drinking too many smoothies? Of course not. Personal choice isn't addiction, even if it isn't good for you.<br /><br />But maybe we're too close to the issue. Judging from admittance to the clinic, anyone who has attended a Molten Core raid in <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/world-of-warcraft">World of Warcraft</a></em> is a die-hard addict. We've all heard -- or seen! -- one or two horror stories, as well.<br /><br />Do you consider over-usage of the internet to be personal choice? Habit?
