<em><a href="http://www.ddo.com">Dungeon's &amp; Dragon's Online</a></em> players are getting two new things as of late: the free Module 9 update and <a href="http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=178171">a new executive producer by the name of Fernando Paiz</a>. The update isn't out just yet, <a href="http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Release_Notes_Lamannia_Update_9.0_Official">but its preview notes are</a> and they're pretty substantial. Players are getting level 20, which brings tons of new feats and powers, along with DX10 graphics support, combat, UI and many other improvements.<br /><br />If you're wondering who this new guy is, Fernando has actually been with Turbine for over three years and seems rather excited to be working with the team. We don't doubt that it's partially because he's now working with his wife, Kate.<br /><br />Mostly though, Fernando appears to be pretty excited about both Module 9 and what he calls, <em>"an aggressive push to grow the game in 2009"</em> We'll be curious to see exactly what that means. Will players be getting epic levels starting with 21? Seems like the thing to do at this point in the life-cycle of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Dungeons-and-Dragons-Online/">Dungeons and Dragons Online</a></em>, but we suppose that we'll just have to wait for the official announcement.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/04/07/dungeons-and-dragons-onlines-new-executive-producer-comments-on-m/">Dungeons &amp; Dragons Online's new executive producer comments on Module 9</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 07 Apr 2009 17:20:00 EST. Our <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/massively-speaking-podcast-episode-31/ ">most recent Massively Speaking podcast</a> featured an interview with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/kate-paiz">Turbine's Kate Paiz</a>, Senior Producer for <a href="http://www.ddo.com/"><em>Dungeons and Dragons Online</em></a>, conducted by our <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/bloggers/michael-zenke">overlord Michael Zenke</a>. The interview hits on some details of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/turbine">Turbine's</a> plans for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/dungeons-and-dragons-online"><em>Dungeon and Dragons Online</em></a> in Module 8 (namely 'hirelings') and beyond. <br /><br />But there's more -- <a href="http://www.gamebanshee.com">GameBanshee</a> recently ran a Turbine interview detailing how <em>DDO</em> has changed in Module 8 over its previous iterations. The <a href="http://www.gamebanshee.com/interviews/dndonline6-1.php ">GameBanshee interview gives us some additional details</a> on Module 8's hirelings, and focuses on the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/16/dungeons-and-dragons-online-module-8-the-new-player-experience/ ">new Character Generation system</a>, a story-based introduction to the game, and content for higher-level players.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/13/more-details-on-dungeons-and-dragons-onlines-module-8/">More details on Dungeons and Dragons Online's Module 8</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 13 Nov 2008 18:00:00 EST. If you missed the news last week from the release of <a href="http://www.ddo.com"><span style="font-style: italic;">Dungeons and Dragons Online</span></a>'s new <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ddo-module-8">Module 8</a>, we thought we should probably point you to <a href="http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Release_Notes_Module_8_Official">the complete patch notes</a>. These notes show everything that's been added to the game with this free content upgrade, including the highly-anticipated Hirelings and DirectX 10 support!<br /><br />Also, you may want to check out our <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/massivelys-tour-of-dungeons-and-dragons-online-module-8/">exclusive early coverage of Module 8 with a dev tour</a> last month. This dev tour gave us the opportunity to get some <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/ddo-module-8-tour/">early screenshots</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/massivelys-tour-of-dungeons-and-dragons-online-module-8/">video footage</a> of the new content, as well as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/16/dungeons-and-dragons-online-module-8-the-new-player-experience/">a feature article on the new player experience</a> that has changed so drastically in Module 8. This is an enormous patch, containing many improvements that cater to both the hardcore, experienced <span style="font-style: italic;">DDO</span> players, and those who may be looking to get into the game for the first time. Be sure to check out the complete patch notes after the cut below.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/04/ddo-module-8-complete-patch-notes/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>DDO Module 8 complete patch notes</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/04/ddo-module-8-complete-patch-notes/">DDO Module 8 complete patch notes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 04 Nov 2008 13:30:00 EST. We've spent many a happy hour gathered around a table, adventuring with friends while fighting over possession of the snacks. So we love to see screens from <a href="http://www.ddo.com"><em>Dungeons and Dragons Online</em></a>, where people play out campaigns -- just in MMO form! Today's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/One-Shots/">One Shots</a> comes to us from Massively reader Bam! who sent along this gorgeous screenshot from <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Dungeons-and-Dragons-Online/">Dungeons and Dragons Online</a></em> along with the following note: <em>Though I wanted to capture the moment where the dragon is walking in the ice tunnel below you, I missed it, so here it is. This is the cause of all the trouble in the new starter area for DDO mod 8. Without spoiling too much of anything, we're here to turn the balance in the fight between the mindflayer and the dragon. The changes made in Mod 8 (including DX10) are fantastic. I hope it will attract some new players!</em><br /><br />Do you have a screenshot that takes you back to a great memory? Perhaps you have screens from when you first started playing MMOs and would like to share your stories of what it felt like to step into that world? One Shots is about community, and that means we need your screens and stories! Want to contribute but don't know how? It's easy. Just email your screenshot along with whatever you'd like to say about it to <strong>oneshots AT massively DOT com</strong>. Include your character name (server and guild optional) along with the game so we know who to give credit to. Pretty simple, no?<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/">One Shots</a></strong></p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2704109"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os864_eq2_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2700179"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os863_fe_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2695825"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os862_lotro_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2691569"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os861_co_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/one-shots/#2687909"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.massively.com/media/2010/02/os860_wow_1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/01/one-shots-roll-for-initiative/">One Shots: Roll for initiative!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 01 Nov 2008 14:00:00 EST. During the interview, she said that the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/01/04/codemasters-announce-connect-2008-mmorpg-event-for-europeans/">Connect 08 event</a> that will take place in just a few days time now will showcase one of the main features of this content update, the brand new Monk class. This will not just be a video -- there will be a playable demo available to attendees as well.<br /><br />Apart from the Monk, Module 7 will bring a new high level wilderness and raid based in Shavarath, and some improvements to the crafting system, with more crafting love promised for the future. TTH also asks Paiz about how the 4th Edition D&amp;D Ruleset will affect <em>DDO</em>. Without going into all the detail here, she basically says that they will work out what fits with <em>DDO</em> only after the Wizards of the Coast iron out the new feature set, which is not set in stone just yet. Check out the <a href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/28638">full interview</a> for more on that and Module 7, with just a hint of Module 8 at the end.<em></em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/03/12/kate-paiz-discusses-ddos-module-7-monk-demo-at-connect-08/">Kate Paiz discusses DDO's Module 7; Monk demo at Connect 08</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 12 Mar 2008 13:00:00 EST.
