	Heads up, ladies and gents; it's time for a special pre-<a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/e3-2012">E3</a> edition of <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-mmo-report">The MMO Report</a>. That's right, the biggest event in the industry is rolling out the proverbial red carpet next week, and MMOs have plenty on the slate for the big event. G4's fabulous <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/casey-schreiner">Casey Schreiner</a> has a look at some of the big pre-E3 MMO news, as well as a taste of what players can expect from the convention.<br />
	<br />
	For your appetizer, we have <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/16/the-elder-scrolls-online-factions-profiled/">a look at the three factions</a> of <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/zenimax">ZeniMax's</a> upcoming title, <em><a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-elder-scrolls-online">The Elder Scrolls Online</a></em>. You can wash that down with a tall glass of <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/trion-worlds">Trion Worlds'</a> MMO-television crossover game, <em><a href="http://www.massively.com/category/defiance">Defiance</a></em>. That should be sufficient to prepare you for the main course of <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/planetside-2">PlanetSide 2's</a> delicious <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/planetside-2-unveils-the-mechanized-assault-exo-suit/">MAX suit reveal</a>, as well as a few more post-meal treats. So what are you waiting for? Pull up a seat and check out the full video below.</div><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/the-mmo-reports-pre-e3-special/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Pre-E3 edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/25/the-mmo-reports-pre-e3-special/">The MMO Report: Pre-E3 edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 25 May 2012 18:30:00 EST. 	<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/04/12/the-mmo-report-big-news-edition/"><img alt="This is madness.  Just madness." src="http://www.blogcdn.com/massively.joystiq.com/media/2012/04/mmorpeort-epl-412.jpg" /></a></div>
<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a> has some big news this week, and no, it's not about the fact that it's secretly carrying your baby. Nor is it even tied to all of the various big news that the show has this week, and there is quite a bit of that. Obviously, there's the new patch for <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></em>, and there's also the first in-game footage of both <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Darkness/">World of Darkness</a></em> and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Defiance/">Defiance</a></em>, but those aren't the big reveal in the news.<br />
<br />
So what is it? Well, while we'd normally promise that there's going to be a new episode next week from G4 and Massively, this week it's not quite so clear-cut. The show is going on a brief hiatus for reasons that we'll allow the show itself to explain. So hop on past the break for more MMO news, and tune in when the hiatus ends for another episode. You can keep checking back here forlornly, however. We won't hold it against you.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/04/12/the-mmo-report-big-news-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Big news edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/04/12/the-mmo-report-big-news-edition/">The MMO Report: Big news edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 12 Apr 2012 21:00:00 EST. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Repor/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey tells everyone to stop whining about <em>Mass Effect 3's</em> ending, laments the loss of the "online" part of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/warhammer-40k/">Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online</a></em>, touches on the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Darkness/">World of Darkness</a></em> keynote, and outlines <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/">The Secret World's</a></em> preorder plans. He also reveals the identity of one of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/TERA/">TERA's</a></em> key voice actors: Michael Hogan (of Battlestar Galactica fame), who will play Samael in the final game. Finally, he pulls one measly letter from the mailbag and debates which class he represents in <em>TERA</em>.<br />

In tonight's ultra-short <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-MMO-Report/">MMO Report</a>, Casey complains that <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Phantasy-Star-Online-2/">Phantasy Star Online 2</a></em> will launch for mobile platforms ahead of PC, drools all over the integration of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/DUST-514/">DUST 514</a></em> and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/EVE-Online/">EVE Online</a></em>, maintains a weirdly neutral face while discussing <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Anarchy-Online/">Anarchy Online's</a></em> graphical overhaul, and regales us with an explanation of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/">The Secret World's</a></em> class-less game mechanics. He ends on a high note with a peek into Uncle Casey's mailbag and some mockery of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a></em> players' forum campaign to undo the latest round of Warlock nerfs. No one's ever done <em>that</em> before.<br />

<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Morgan-Webb/">Morgan Webb</a> dethrones Casey this week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, having made the journey to Anaheim to interview <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Blizzard/">Blizzard's</a> reps about <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft's</a></em> upcoming <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Mists-of-Pandaria/">Mists of Pandaria</a></em> expansion. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/J-Allen-Brack/">J. Allen Brack</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Tom-Chilton/">Tom Chilton</a> focus on the philosophy of this expansion and its shift from previous expansions' ominous tone to a more playful theme of adventure, exploration, and oh yeah, the war between the Alliance and the Horde.<br />
<br />
The pair also highlight changes to underdeveloped zones, pet battles, repurposed classic dungeons, phased farms (actual farms!), and solutions to the faction grind problem. Most interestingly, they tell Morgan that Pandaren came first... and the Asian motif followed. After all, they joke, it just wouldn't have made sense to put Pandaren in Aztec ruins.<br />

This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey cheers for the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Double-Fine/">Double Fine</a> Kickstarter effort, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/MechWarrior-Online/">MechWarrior Online's</a></em> first gameplay footage, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars-2/">Guild Wars 2's</a></em> preorder bonuses. "Shut up and take my money," he commands <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ArenaNet/">ArenaNet</a>. He also heckles <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/TERA/">TERA</a></em> for its new level cap and discusses <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic's</a></em> free play weekend before getting a bit confused about just how <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft's</a></em> revamped scroll of resurrection works (it does not, in fact, work on fresh accounts).<br />
<br />
The Beard ends with a dip into the mailbag and a geeky commercial that involves "8bit animation, puppets, and beer" and must be seen to be believed. And you can do so after the break!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/15/the-mmo-report-shut-up-and-take-my-money/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Shut up and take my money</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/15/the-mmo-report-shut-up-and-take-my-money/">The MMO Report: Shut up and take my money</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 15 Mar 2012 21:00:00 EST. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey caps off his <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Trion-Worlds/">Trion Worlds</a> tour by chatting up <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RIFT/">RIFT's</a></em> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Adam-Gershowitz/">Adam Gershowitz</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Adam-Hetenyi/">Adam Hetenyi</a>. Backed by enormous screens showing off the game's flashiest scenes, the two Adams discuss <em>RIFT's</em> upcoming 1.8 patch, giving previews of the goodies that will tempt hardcore endgamers in the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/08/trek-through-fire-and-flame-in-rifts-infernal-dawn-raid/">Infernal Dawn</a> raid (pro tip: Do not invite Maelforge to your birthday party). The pair also discuss the game's new skills -- fishing, trapping, and survival -- before teasing what players can look forward to after 1.8 has come and gone.<br />

<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a> returns this week with a special <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RIFT/">RIFT</a></em> edition in celebration of the game's first birthday. In this extra-long show, Casey visits the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Trion-Worlds/">Trion Worlds</a> studios in Redwood Shores, California for a beard's-eye view of the game as it turns one. He meets up with such Trion notables as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Scott-Hartsman/">Scott Hartsman</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Hal-Hanlin/">Hal Hanlin</a>, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Russ-Brown/">Russ Brown</a> as they chat about the Carnival of the Ascended, the anniversary events, the mobile app, and the record-breaking 20,000 marriages recently performed in-game. The devs also discuss how they balance fan feedback (endgame players are apparently the loudest) and claim that the latest patch features the "greatest balloons ever put into a game."<br />
<br />
Eavesdrop on Casey's tour in the HD video after the break!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/01/the-mmo-report-where-the-mobs-raid-you/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Where the mobs raid you</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/01/the-mmo-report-where-the-mobs-raid-you/">The MMO Report: Where the mobs raid you</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 01 Mar 2012 21:00:00 EST. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey (not pictured above) discusses <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/"><em>The Secret World'</em>s</a> new release date of June 19th, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars-2/">Guild Wars 2's</a></em> console version and beta weekend, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic's</a></em> expansion into the Asia-Pacific region. He also peeks at the new raid and content coming to <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/DC-Universe-Online/">DC Universe Online</a></em>, which still exists.<br />
<br />
Casey's usual journey into the mailbag may or may not reveal an image of a dog drinking wine and playing <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a></em>.<br />
<br />
Finally, The Beard teases next week's special <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RIFT/">RIFT</a></em> anniversary episode. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey delivers a Valentine's Day rant before moving on to the latest news -- namely, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/">The Secret World's</a></em> release date rumors, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Wakfu/">Wakfu's</a></em> PvP, and the sunset of sci-fi sandbox <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Earthrise/">Earthrise</a></em>. He also rounds up the latest <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Blizzard/">Blizzard</a> headlines, noting the lawsuit against <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Valve/">Valve</a>, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft's</a></em> recent sub losses, and the "valiant and pointless exercise" of rebuilding Azeroth in <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Minecraft/">Minecraft</a></em>.<br />

Finally, Uncle Casey's Mailbag provides a forum for the debate over just how we're supposed to pronounce "<em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic">SWTOR</a></em>." This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey insists that he's a "wise-cracking superhero with a heart of gold," not a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/02/03/the-mmo-report-eq-was-the-first-mmo-edition/">noob who doesn't know his MMO history</a>. "For the record," he says, "I do realize that <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/EverQuest/">EverQuest</a></em> wasn't the first MMO. I was just saying it was the game that brought MMOs mainstream attention... like how Elvis invented rock 'n' roll."<br />
<br />
Casey reports on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/warhammer-40k/"><em>Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online's</em></a> financial woes, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RIFT/">RIFT's</a></em> new infinite trial, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic's</a></em> impressive sales numbers, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/TERA/">TERA's</a></em> beta plans. Then he dips into Uncle Casey's Mailbag to discuss -- what else -- hot dorf-on-dorf action.<br />
<br />

Casey Schreiner returns with this week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-mmo-report">MMO Report</a>, G4TV's weekly newscast about all things massively multiplayer. First up is a shout-out to the newly free-to-play <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/everquest"><em>EverQuest</em></a>, though <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/ultima-online"><em>Ultima Online</em></a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/meridian-59"><em>Meridian 59</em></a>, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/the-realm"><em>The Realm</em></a> players might dispute Casey's notion that <em>EQ</em> "started it all."<br />
<br />
<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/funcom">Funcom's</a> new Blue Mountain trailer for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-secret-world"><em>The Secret World</em></a> also gets a mention, as does the Family Research Council's facepalm-inducing reaction to the prospect of same-sex snogging in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/tera"><em>TERA's</em></a> legal troubles are next, and Uncle Casey's mailbag rounds out this week's show. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey dishes on <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Marvel-Heroes/">Marvel Heroes'</a></em> new engine, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Dungeons-and-Dragons-Online/">Dungeons and Dragons Online's</a></em> inbound anniversary update and expansion, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RIFT/">RIFT's</a></em> financial success. He cheers <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ArenaNet/">ArenaNet's</a> revelation that <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars-2/">Guild Wars 2</a></em> will launch in 2012 -- for realsies! -- but then he mourns the lack of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/BlizzCon/">BlizzCon</a> this year:<br />
<br />
"But... the fans! The swag! The concert! The cosplay! People getting hurt during the dance contest! How can we go on living without BlizzCon 2012?"<br />
<br />
Finally, Casey dispenses bad advice and Nordic memes from Uncle Casey's Mailbag.<br />
<br />
All this and more in today's edition of The MMO Report, which is tucked behind the break.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/26/the-mmo-report-for-realsies-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: For realsies edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/26/the-mmo-report-for-realsies-edition/">The MMO Report: For realsies edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 26 Jan 2012 21:00:00 EST. Why does <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a> cover <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Minecraft/">Minecraft</a></em>? "Shut up, that's why," says Casey with a smile. In addition to chronicling <em>Minecraft's</em> newest <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/FarmVille/">FarmVille</a></em>-esque update, the Beard meanders through the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Dark-Millennium-Online/">Dark Millennium Online</a></em> cancellation rumors, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/">The Secret World's</a></em> Illuminati trailer, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/TERA/">TERA's</a></em> upcoming May release date ("your cue to start claiming it's better than <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-warcraft">WoW</a></em>, internet"). Finally, Casey touches on the patch delays suffered by <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></em>, excusing the tardiness by suggesting the promised dates are more like guidelines, and besides, "Only a Sith deals in absolutes."<br />
<br />

This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey discusses the un-disbanding of the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Multiverse/">Multiverse</a> project and associated Firefly/Buffy IPs, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Wakfu/">Wakfu's</a></em> bright and bizarre character classes, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/DC-Universe-Online/">DC Universe Online's</a></em> timely crafting update, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Razer/">Razer's</a> new Fiona gaming tablet. He also notes that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Bethesda/">Bethesda</a> came away the clear victor in the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Fallout-Online/">Fallout Online</a></em> settlement. Now, where's our <em>Fallout</em> MMO?<br />
<br />
Finally, Casey dips into the mailbag to dispense advice to aspiring game designers and gratitude to a pair of gamers who are planning to name their first child after Casey himself. Says the Beard: "I am equally honored and aghast... I'm just a loudmouth with a camera who reads hit-or-miss jokes about nerd stuff off a teleprompter so that someone can put it on the internet."<br />

This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a> -- where everyone prefers "a blaster over hokey religions and ancient weapons" -- Casey tries to make the most of a slow MMO news week. He reports that the fallout over <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Fallout-Online/">Fallout Online</a></em> has settled, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Multiverse/">Multiverse</a> (the Buffy/Firefly MMO platform) is dead in the water, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/CCP/">CCP</a> is launching <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/EVE-Online/">EVE Online</a></em> character avatars into orbit via balloon, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></em> is boasting 350,000 concurrent users.<br />
<br />
There's no mailbag this week, he relates, because everyone's too busy playing lightsabers with their friends, which is probably true.<br />
<br />
He also thanks <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/BioWare/">BioWare</a> for teaching him how to /getdown... and I think you should tune in at the five-minute mark to see his moves for yourself. The video's tucked behind the break for your amusement!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/05/the-mmo-report-cool-balloon-bro-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Cool balloon bro edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/05/the-mmo-report-cool-balloon-bro-edition/">The MMO Report: Cool balloon bro edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 05 Jan 2012 21:00:00 EST. What do science jazz bands and motorized feminine hygiene products have in common? They're both mentioned on this week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-mmo-report">MMO Report</a>, for starters (yes, really). Moving right along, host Casey Schreiner takes a break from his industry news roundup routine to regale us with a 10-minute blooper reel featuring the best (worst?) outtakes of 2011.<br />
<br />
While there isn't much in the way of MMO news on this week's episode, there are plenty of shots of Casey shuffling his papers, zany cameraman hijinks, and a few choice monologue missteps and associated bleep bombs. We've got the full show embedded for you after the break.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/12/30/the-mmo-report-2011-bloopers-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: 2011 bloopers edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/12/30/the-mmo-report-2011-bloopers-edition/">The MMO Report: 2011 bloopers edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 30 Dec 2011 14:00:00 EST. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a> ("where everyone is legally obligated to be filled with Yuletide"), Casey and the crew interview two of the minds behind the inbound Doctor Who-flavored MMO. <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Doctor-Who-Worlds-in-Time/">Doctor Who: Worlds in Time's</a></em> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/RobertNashak/">Robert Nashak</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/MaxEngel/">Max Engel</a> sat down to discuss the game, which is a platform-independent, Flash-based browser MMO with a unique 2-D graphic-novel style that aims to appeal to fans of both the franchise and sci-fi games in general. Nashak and Engel promise iconic locations and enemies along with a Matt Smith-inspired Doctor and a customizable gadget (sonic screwdriver, anyone?) to reflect each character's abilities.<br />
<br />
The game will be F2P; ideally, players can wade through the game "without spending a penny," although naturally you can purchase faster mission completion and customization of your "home-space on the Tardis." Yes, it's bigger on the inside.<br />
<br />
The game launches in March of 2012, but for now, you can check out the entirety of The MMO Report's interview just past the break.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/12/22/the-mmo-report-its-bigger-on-the-inside-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: It's bigger on the inside edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/12/22/the-mmo-report-its-bigger-on-the-inside-edition/">The MMO Report: It's bigger on the inside edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 22 Dec 2011 20:00:00 EST. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey explains that the leaked <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars-2/">Guild Wars 2</a></em> Mesmer reveal is exactly why we can't have nice things. He highlights <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Lord-of-the-Rings-Online-s/">Lord of the Rings Online's</a></em> first major update since the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Rise-of-Isengard/">Rise of Isengard</a></em> expansion, discusses the newly revealed Egyptian-themed zone in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Funcom/">Funcom's</a> upcoming <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/">The Secret World</a></em>, and suggests that fan feedback -- "very loud fan feedback" -- is responsible for the fan-pandering of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/EVE-Online/">EVE Online's</a></em> recent <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Crucible/">Crucible</a></em> expansion. He also pokes a bit of fun at <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Q-Entertainment/">Q Entertainment's</a> on-the-nose <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Ninety-Nine-Nights-Online/">Ninety-Nine Nights Online</a></em>, a "2-D PC action mmo [that] will most likely play exactly how you expect it to, with lots of clicks and clacks and plenty of hacks and slashes."<br />
<br />
Finally, Casey dips into Uncle Casey's Mailbag to read an email from a fan who believes Casey is a dead-ringer for Christopher Eccleston (of Doctor Who fame), which gave The Beard an opportunity to plug next week's special edition MMO Report, in which the crew will dish out some insider info on the inbound <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Doctor-Who-MMO/">Doctor Who MMO</a>.<br />

This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey stumbles in from the office Christmas party to report on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Ubisoft/">Ubisoft's</a> rumored triple-AAA Wii-U MMO, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Marvel-Universe-Online/">Marvel Universe Online's</a></em> endless parade of character art, and the politics of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Minecraft/">Minecraft's</a></em> design (psst... <em>Minecraft</em> -- sandbox? Yes. MMO? Not really!). He also jokes about <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars--The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic's</a></em> two million beta testers, suggesting that the number proves "nerds will flock to anything with a Star Wars or <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/BioWare/">BioWare</a> logo on the box." We're sure he speaks from personal experience.<br />
<br />
Finally, The Beard dips into Uncle Casey's Mailbag to recount some harrowing tales of MMO deflowering. This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey covers South Korea's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/11/23/south-korea-puts-the-cinderella-law-into-effect/">Cinderella Law</a>, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Firefall/">Firefall's</a></em> attempts at class balance, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft's</a></em> 4.3 patch. He also suggests that "it's beginning to look a lot like riftmas" in <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RIFT/">RIFT</a></em> (groan) before announcing that in honor of Minecon and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Minecraft/">Minecraft's</a></em> 240 million logins per month, he will soon begin work on "Schreinercraft, a graphically minimalist, open-source game where players build, create, and customize virtual beards for their avatars." He notes that he doesn't "have any programming experience, start-up capital, or a business plan," but he "love[s] money and would enjoy having more of it." Don't we all!<br />
<br />
Finally, he dives into Uncle Casey's Mailbag and asks readers to mail him the story of their first MMO experience for possible inclusion in a future show.<br />

This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey treks to Burbank, California, to check out <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars-2/">Guild Wars 2's</a></em> voice-acting studio and interview <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ArenaNet/">ArenaNet</a> lead writer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Bobby-Stein/">Bobby Stein</a>. Stein tells the crew that his team has been working on <em>GW2's</em> voice-overs for three years, resulting in approximately 70 or 80 times the amount of voice work for <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars/">Guild Wars 1's</a></em> final installment, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Eye-of-the-North/">Eye of the North</a></em>.<br />
<br />
Casey also interviews a trio of women portraying female Charr characters, but it just wouldn't be an MMO Report field trip if Casey hadn't given the voice acting a try himself. Rising to such stage directions as "he's a cat" and "now try it drunk," Casey receives a hard-earned standing ovation from the sound booth.<br />
<br />

This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey wonders whether we're occupying Azeroth yet -- after all, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Blizzard/">Blizzard</a> seems to be one of the few MMO companies capable of losing a million players while increasing profits. "You guys gonna have to sell your Lear jets in order to cover your yacht maintenance costs?" wonders Casey. No. No, they are not.<br />
<br />
The Beard also discusses <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/EverQuest-II/">EverQuest II's</a></em> latest free-to-play transition ("people are still paying for that game?!"), <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/">The Secret World's</a></em> Templar week, Minecon in Las Vegas this weekend, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Bigpoint/">Bigpoint's</a> Game of Thrones MMO -- an IP we'll probably be sick of "before the game even comes out."<br />
<br />
Casey winds down with a list of winners for the ongoing MMO Report drinking game contest and an amendment to the rules: "Taking a drink every time I say something sarcastic is not a drinking game. That's just called drinking. Because it never ends."<br />
<br />

Today on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a>, Casey chronicles <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/DC-Universe-Online/">DC Universe Online's</a></em> F2P growing pains ("It's almost like they're giving it away for free," he says cheekily) before moving on to the Total Recall MMO, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic's</a></em> server types, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars-2/">Guild Wars 2's</a></em> pet system, and the bizarre addition of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Second-Life/">Second Life</a></em> to the FBI's watch list for criminal gangs and drug traffickers. "Way to give criminal organizations a wonderful idea, FBI," jokes The Beard.<br />
<br />
This episode also sees the return of Uncle Casey's mailbag and a new contest to devise an MMO Report-themed drinking game. Winners will receive (what else?) <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a></em>-themed MEGA Bloks.<br />
<br />
Casey ends the show on a <em>Skyrim</em> note: "For some reason, I am always drawn to the most useless skills and end up creating a character that's only good at talking to people and getting lower prices on things but not so great at killing things." Sounds like some of my toons!<br />

An unashamedly beardless <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Casey-Schreiner/">Casey Schreiner</a>* bookends a special (albeit late) edition of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a> this week, and it's all about <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/RIFT/">RIFT's</a></em> colossal 1.6 update. The Report features <em>RIFT</em> Producer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Adam-Gershowitz/">Adam Gershowitz</a>, who declares that <em>RIFT</em> is now well-known for being "the MMO that updates the most" while discussing November's impending <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/From-the-Embers/">From the Embers</a> patch, <em>RIFT's</em> sixth major update and its largest to date. Gershowitz explains that the update inserts a massive new zone-playground for endgamers, the Ember Isle, complete with the new Rise of the Phoenix raid instance, the Caduceus Rise dungeon, the instant adventure "looking for quests" tool, and <em>RIFT's</em> first recurring holiday event, Fae Yule.<br />
<br />
(*Casey's de-bearding was, he claims, "for the greater good," and by the greater good, he means in the service of a swanky Petyr Baelish Halloween costume. How cool is that?)<br />

"Ah crap, it's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/blizzcon-2011">BlizzCon</a> again?" asks <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Casey-Schreiner/">Casey Schreiner</a> in this week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">MMO Report</a>. 'Fraid so! At the Anaheim con, Casey interviewed <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a></em> Lead Producer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/J-Allen-Brack/">J. Allen Brack</a> about the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Mists-of-Pandaria/">Mists of Pandaria</a></em> expansion, covering the neutral Pandaren race, the Monk class, the talent system overhaul, pet combat, world bosses, battlegrounds, challenge mode, retro dungeons, and beer.<br />
<br />
He also found time to chat with a few fans, cut in line, sniff markers, wade into a loot elemental money machine, polish off some voiceovers for Jaina and Thrall, and play with <em>WoW</em>-themed LEGOs. I mean, MEGA Bloks.<br />
<br />
Casey's takeaway? "We all learned something very valuable here: that internet rumors can sometimes be true. So thanks for ruining Christmas, The Internet!"<br />
<br />
Enjoy the MMO Report just past the cut.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/10/27/mmo-report-ah-crap-its-blizzcon-again-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MMO Report: Ah crap it's BlizzCon again edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/10/27/mmo-report-ah-crap-its-blizzcon-again-edition/">MMO Report: Ah crap it's BlizzCon again edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 27 Oct 2011 20:30:00 EST. This week on the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">MMO Report</a> ("where raids kill marriages dead"), <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Casey-Schreiner/">Casey Schreiner</a> covers Blizzard's charity-driven auctions for <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/World-of-Warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a></em> server blades, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-Secret-World/">The Secret World's</a></em> plans for factional PvP, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic's</a></em> new European release date and NYCC video, and CCP's ongoing mea culpa. He also jokingly suggests that the upcoming F2P browser-based <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Transformers/">Transformers</a> MMO is "pretty much a standard MMO with no unique features other than the fact that you can transform into your own mount." Fighting words indeed!<br />
<br />
After a quick dip into the mailbag, Casey ends on a serious note by pointing out his swanky purple duds are his way of showing support for bullied LGBT youth among the gaming populace. The next time you hear a slur in a game, Casey advises, you should demand to know why the hater's "intellect is in a constant state of debuff."<br />

This week on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">The MMO Report</a> ("where Steve Jobs is an exalted Buddhist saint of secular humanism"), <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Casey-Schreiner/">Casey Schreiner</a> chats about <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Neverwinter/">Neverwinter's</a></em> new status as a full MMO, <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/PlanetSide-2/">PlanetSide 2's</a></em> famed story-writer, and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Fallen-Earth/">Fallen Earth's</a></em> long journey to the land of F2P. He also discusses <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Star-Wars--The-Old-Republic/">Star Wars: The Old Republic's</a></em> companion features and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Minecraft/">Minecraft's</a></em> impending November 18th release (you can "waste your time chasing angular, blocky dragons" until then).<br />
<br />
Finally, Casey allows his ego to be inflated by Uncle Casey's Mailbag and announces he's headed to a geeky event to which he'll bring "a picnic basket, six changes of pants, four boxes of Kleenex, and one candy cigarette." You'll just have to tune in past the cut to find out where.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/10/13/the-mmo-report-angular-blocky-dragons-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Angular blocky dragons edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/10/13/the-mmo-report-angular-blocky-dragons-edition/">The MMO Report: Angular blocky dragons edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 13 Oct 2011 22:00:00 EST. This week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-mmo-report">MMO Report</a> starts off with a look at <em>Minecraft's</em> latest patch, but since it's not an MMO and we're an MMO website, you'll have to watch the video to get the details. Neener neener.<br />
<br />
Anyhow, host Casey Schreiner kicks off the MMO news with a blurb about <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic's</em></a> release date before moving on to the neverending brouhaha between <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/interplay">Interplay</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/bethesda">Bethesda</a> over the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/fallout-online"><em>Fallout</em></a> MMO. There's also a bit of commentary relating to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/final-fantasy-xiv"><em>Final Fantasy XIV's</em></a> woes, as well as a recap of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp">CCP's</a> change of heart regarding <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online's</em></a> development focus.<br />
<br />
Finally, no MMO Report would be complete without a dive into the deep, dark recesses of Uncle Casey's mailbag, and this week's edition even features something of an apology from Schreiner. Yeah, we couldn't believe it either. See for yourself after the break.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/29/the-mmo-report-sincere-apologies-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Sincere apologies edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/29/the-mmo-report-sincere-apologies-edition/">The MMO Report: Sincere apologies edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 29 Sep 2011 20:30:00 EST. This week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-mmo-report">MMO Report</a> finds host Casey Schreiner in fine form despite the disconcerting presence of another neck-bearded nerd crowding the camera during the show's opening monologue. The interloper turns out to be Schreiner's cousin Dave, who is apparently taking our intrepid host up on last week's hospitality offer.<br />
<br />
Never fear, though -- there is some MMO news to be had during the show's eight-minute running time. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/city-of-heroes"><em>City of Heroes</em></a> and its upcoming free-to-play conversion gets a mention, as does the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars The Old Republic</em></a> trailer focused on Smugglers (who Casey says will "kick you in the nuts, tag you with a sticky grenade, and laugh in your face as you fall to your knees in agony"). There's also a blurb about <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/dungeons-and-dragons-online"><em>Dungeons and Dragons Online's</em></a> new update, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/rift"><em>RIFT's</em></a> latest promotion, <em>Minecraft's</em> adventure pack, and of course Uncle Casey's mailbag. Check it out after the break.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/15/the-mmo-report-unwanted-guests-from-connecticut-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Unwanted guests from Connecticut edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/15/the-mmo-report-unwanted-guests-from-connecticut-edition/">The MMO Report: Unwanted guests from Connecticut edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 15 Sep 2011 22:00:00 EST. This week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-mmo-report">MMO Report</a> finds Casey Schreiner in a celebratory mood, and why not? After all, G4TV's massively multiplayer-focused video blog has been entertaining work-bound slackers for four years now, and it's his birthday tomorrow.<br />
<br />
The show hits all the MMO news highlights for the past week including <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/dc-universe-online"><em>DC Universe Online's</em></a> new content pack, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/minecraft"><em>Minecraft's</em></a> new adventuring trailer, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-secret-world"><em>The Secret World's</em></a> sub-plus-cash-shop business model reveal, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-trek-online"><em>Star Trek Online's</em></a> foregone conclusion of a free-to-play announcement. Casey has a bit of fun with fans of the F2P model, saying that <em>STO</em> is "answering the call of thousands of underpaid comics and collectible store employees who can't afford 15 bucks a month."<br />
<br />
If that's not enough for you, consider that Casey also spends a bit of time talking about the merits of in-game marriage, and more specifically, why so many of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/maplestory"><em>MapleStory's</em></a> pairings end in annulment. Seriously. Check it out after the break.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/08/the-mmo-report-in-game-marriage-is-for-losers-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: In-game marriage is for losers edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/08/the-mmo-report-in-game-marriage-is-for-losers-edition/">The MMO Report: In-game marriage is for losers edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 08 Sep 2011 21:00:00 EST. Welcome to a very special <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/pax-prime-2011">PAX Prime 2011</a> edition of <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-mmo-report">The MMO Report</a>. Surely you've read all of Massively's PAX coverage (you have, haven't you?), but in case you somehow missed it, don't fear. The MMO Report is here to give you the skinny on the big MMO happenings at one of the country's largest gaming conventions.<br />
	<br />
	The show kicks things off with -- surprise! -- <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a>. Content Designer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/mike-zadorojny">Mike Zadorojny </a>talks about the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/15/arenanet-unveiling-guild-wars-2-changes-with-gamescom-demo/">new skill progression system</a> and the removal of the energy mechanic, and also notes that closed beta is still on track to take place before the end of the year.<br />
	<br />
	Then it's on to <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/firefall"><em>Firefall</em></a>, the new MMOFPS from <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/red-5-studios">Red 5 Studios</a>. The open-world portion of the game was the newest addition to the game's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/31/pax-2011-hands-on-with-firefall/">PAX 2011 demo</a>, though players also had the opportunity to try their hand at the game's competitive PvP.<br />
	<br />
	<a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/funcom">Funcom</a>'s <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-secret-world"><em>The Secret World</em></a> is up next with news on the game's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/31/pax-2011-funcom-discusses-tsws-pvp-arg-and-more/">large-scale persistent PvP</a>. Small-scale PvP battlefields make an appearance as well in the form of Stonehenge, El Dorado, and Shambhala.<br />
	<br />
	<a href="http://www.massively.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a> rounds out the MMO selection with the game's Huttball and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/29/pax-2011-swtor-pvp-hands-on-impressions/">Alderaan</a> PvP battlegrounds and the <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/eternity-vault">Eternity Vault</a> endgame Operation.<br />

	Welcome once again to Massively's coverage of <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-mmo-report">The MMO report</a>, where we get to imagine that this entire article is read by a 1930s radio announcer.<br />
	<br />
	The first order of business today is <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/biggest-eve-online-scam-ever-recorded-nets-over-a-trillion-isk/">the record-breaking scam</a> perpetrated in <em><a href="http://www.massively.com/category/eve-online">EVE Online</a></em>, followed by the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/15/arenanet-unveiling-guild-wars-2-changes-with-gamescom-demo/">energy and weapon ability changes</a> in the most recent test build of <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a>. Then we've got <em><a href="http://www.massively.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic">The Old Republic</a></em>'s <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/swtor-will-focus-on-endgame-for-gamescom/">first show of endgame content</a> in the form of the <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/eternity-vault">Eternity Vault</a> being showcased at <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/gamescom">Gamescom</a>. Meanwhile, <em><a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-secret-world">The Secret World</a></em> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/16/gamescom-2011-the-secret-world-launching-april-2012/">announces a release date</a>, slating the game for April 2012 with beta signups beginning on August 26th. <em><a href="http://www.massively.com/category/lego-universe">LEGO Universe</a></em>'s <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/15/lego-universe-goes-f2p-today/">transition to a free-to-play model</a> rounds out the selections before a trip into Uncle Casey's Mailbag for some schmemes and other goodness.<br />
	<br />
	So jump on past the cut and check it out. Oh, and don't ask about the beginning. We don't know either.</div><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/19/the-mmo-report-what-is-this-i-dont-even-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: What is this I don't even edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/19/the-mmo-report-what-is-this-i-dont-even-edition/">The MMO Report: What is this I don't even edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 19 Aug 2011 10:30:00 EST. This week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/The-MMO-Report/">MMO Report</a> finds Casey Schreiner looking to exchange sexual favors for a higher credit rating. With that out of the way, he also finds time to talk up a few MMOs.<br />
<br />
Highlights include a mention of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/blizzard">Blizzard's</a> panda-flavored expansion rumors as well as a bit of commentary on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/bioware">BioWare's</a> Jedi Consular class trailer for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. Next up is a blurb about <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2's</em></a> Sylvari week, and in addition to hearing Schreiner utter the phrase "sentient tree-sprout," we get a recap of the recent blog post focused on the character designs.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/bounty-hounds-online"><em>Bounty Hounds Online</em></a> also gets a mention, and The MMO Report even has a few beta codes to hand out for the upcoming sci-fi MMO. This week's Massively mention (always the highlight of every MMO Report broadcast) is up next, and focuses on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/dc-universe-online"><em>DC Universe Online's</em></a> superserver merge. Finally, no MMO Report would be complete without Uncle Casey's mailbag, and you can find that -- as well as the rest of the show -- after the cut.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/the-mmo-report-higher-credit-rating-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Higher credit rating edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/the-mmo-report-higher-credit-rating-edition/">The MMO Report: Higher credit rating edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 12 Aug 2011 13:00:00 EST. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/casey-schreiner/">Casey Schreiner</a> needs to play with his new laundry and wash his iPad -- or maybe it was the other way around -- so we must hurry through the description of this week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-mmo-report/">MMO Report</a>! I'm not joking, he really has to leave quickly.<br />
<br />
Casey starts with quips about a bearded dragon in the new expansion for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/lord-of-the-rings-online/"><em>Lord of the Rings Online</em></a>, which is ironic, coming from the Master of Beards himself. Following that, our man of MMO mystery discusses the vehicles, beta, and pre-order for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic/"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. He says the very thing that is on the mind of every fan: "<em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/EA/">EA</a> you're doing it wrong.</em>" First you announce release date, followed by pre-order, and then beta!<br />
<br />
On another topic, Casey begs the new VP at <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Disney-Interactive/">Disney Interactive Studios</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Bill-Roper/">Bill Roper</a>, to actually release information regarding the Marvel MMO. And lastly, Sir Schreiner lets us in on PvP for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/rusty-hearts/"><em>Rusty Hearts</em></a> and explains why America needs to be more like Russia.<br />
<br />
To catch all of this and dip into Uncle Casey's mailbag, jump past the break and get ready for all the sweetness of the MMO Report.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/29/the-mmo-report-the-force-is-with-you-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: The Force is with you edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/29/the-mmo-report-the-force-is-with-you-edition/">The MMO Report: The Force is with you edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 29 Jul 2011 15:00:00 EST. <div>
	Welcome to this week's edition of <a href="http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/714292/eve-online-dlc-controversy-the-mmo-report/">The MMO Report</a>.<br />
	<br />
	The first order of business on <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-mmo-report">The MMO Report</a> this week is <a href="http://www.ageofconan.com"><em>Age of Conan: Unchained</em></a>. Funcom's bloody MMO <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/01/age-of-conan-unchained-is-here-as-is-f2p-and-a-lot-of-new-cont/">went free-to-play last week</a>, and also<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/06/age-of-conans-hardcore-pvp-ruleset-releasing-tomorrow/"> released their new Blood and Glory PvP servers</a> yesterday.<br />
	<br />
	Next up we have <a href="http://www.bioware.com">BioWare</a>'s latest class video for <a href="http://www.swtor.com"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/01/star-wars-the-old-republic-reintroduces-the-bounty-hunter-progr/">It focuses on the Bounty Hunter</a> class and details the progression options available to Boba Fett wannabes.<br />
	<br />
	And then it's... Oh, not again. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/monoclegate">Monocle-gate</a>, okay? <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/21/controversy-brewing-over-eve-online-microtransactions/">Do</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/22/rumour-leaked-document-shows-ccps-microtransaction-plans/">we</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/25/eve-online-controversy-erupts-in-protests/">really</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/26/ccp-issues-brief-mea-culpa-eve-csm-to-meet-with-devs/">need</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/26/perpetuum-receives-influx-of-eve-players/">to</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/02/ccp-responds-to-monoclegate-reaches-consensus-with-players/">say</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/06/eve-online-press-conference-answers-vital-questions-transcript/">anything</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/07/interview-with-ccp-ceo-hilmar-petursson-discusses-recent-events/">else</a>?<br />
	<br />
	Lastly, we come to the announcement that <a href="http://www.blizzard.com">Blizzard</a>'s project <em>Titan</em> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/29/blizzards-titan-a-casual-mmo/">is going to be a casual MMO</a>. Considering the fact that, as Casey puts it, many players consider <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a> to be casual as it is, what this means for <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/titan"><em>Titan</em></a> is ambiguous at best.<br />
	<br />
	For the full MMO Report, including (for the first time in a while) Uncle Casey's Mailbag, jump on past the cut.</div><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/the-mmo-report-oh-come-on-can-we-please-just-drop-it-already-ed/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Oh come on can we please just drop it already edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/the-mmo-report-oh-come-on-can-we-please-just-drop-it-already-ed/">The MMO Report: Oh come on can we please just drop it already edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 08 Jul 2011 19:30:00 EST. <div>
	In today's <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/the-mmo-report">MMO Report</a>, Casey Schreiner takes his viewers to Bellevue, Washington for a trip to <a href="http://www.arena.net">ArenaNet</a>'s offices to preview <a href="http://www.guildwars2.com"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a>. Casey talks to two members of <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/arenanet">ANet</a>'s team: Game Designer <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/jeff-grubb">Jeff Grubb</a> and Lead Content Designer <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/colin-johanson">Colin Johanson</a>.<br />
	<br />
	Jeff spends most of his time filling Casey in on the lore of <em><a href="http://www.massively.com/category/guild-wars-2">Guild Wars 2</a></em>, detailing the story that leads to the alliance between the Humans and the Charr and the addition of the other three races of the game. He also discusses how the choices players make will influence their story experience.<br />
	<br />
	Colin, on the other hand, is more focused on the gameplay end of things. He talks about how the game's classes will function without the omnipresent holy trinity, explaining that classes can fill various roles, which can be swapped between in combat. Dungeons are another topic covered, and Colin explains the differences between the story mode dungeons (which are more casual, story-driven experiences) and the exploration mode dungeons (which are tailored for more hardcore players seeking a challenge.)<br />

<div>
	In <a href="http://www.g4tv.com/videos/53882/the-mmo-report-thursday-june-23rd/?quality=hd">this edition of the MMO Report</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/casey-schreiner">Casey Schreiner</a>'s epic beard is upstaged by the creepy guy kissing his desk. The desk is gorgeous, but I don't think the make-out session was consensual. No means no, creepy guy.<br />
	<br />
	As for MMO news, Casey is back from E3, and a bunch of games go free-to-play. There has to be a connection between those two events. Also, Casey cannot help but correlate the patch in his favorite bum-hugging jeans with the patches in <a href="http://riftgame.com"><em>RIFT</em></a> and <a href="http://worldofwarcraft.com"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a>. Understandably so, they both keep water rifts at bay, and at the same time, quench fiery lands. Lastly, the MMO Report shows us that the pen is mightier than even the laser sword, as Casey introduces us to last Friday's <a href="http://swtor.com"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a> dev blog and displays the latest fan-created memes.<br />

	In this week's <a href="http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/tag/3321/the-mmo-report">MMO Report</a>, Casey comes to us directly from <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/e3-2011">E3 2011</a>, where he verbally spars with a variety of game developers while battling off hunger, fatigue, and nerd-flu. Watch Casey's stats slowly dwindle as he confronts the many dangers of E3, such as overstimulation and the dreaded natural light.<br />
	<br />
	The first stop on Casey's E3 journey is an interview with <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/square-enix">Square Enix's</a> <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/frank-fonseca">Frank Fonseca</a>, with whom he discusses the upcoming tactical MMORPG <em><a href="http://www.wakfu.com">Wakfu</a></em>. He gets a few details on the political system and discovers how tactical combat plays out in an MMO space.<br />
	<br />
	Next, he gets some face-time in with Producer <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/thomas-farrer">Thomas Farrer</a> and Creative Director <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/Torfi-Frans-Olafsson">Torfi Frans Olafsson</a> from <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/ccp">CCP</a>, who tell Casey all about how the interplay between <a href="http://www.eveonline.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> and upcoming <a href="http://www.dust514.com"><em>DUST 514</em></a> will work and why <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/dust-514"><span style="font-style: italic;">DUST </span><em>514</em></a> is different from other console shooters.<br />
	<br />
	From there he scurries off to <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/en-masse">En Masse's</a> booth to have a chat with <a href="http://www.tera-online.com"><em>TERA</em></a>'s North American Producer <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/chris-hager">Chris Hager</a>, who discusses <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/tera"><em>TERA</em></a>'s <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/08/e3-2011-en-masse-interview-delves-into-teras-political-system/">big political system reveal</a> as well as the name of his potential political party.<br />
	<br />
	Last stop on the Casey-train is <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/bioware">BioWare</a>'s booth, where Casey parleys with <em><a href="http://www.swtor.com">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></em>'s Senior Live Producer <a href="http://www.massively.com/tag/blaine-christine">Blaine Christine</a>. Blaine gives Casey the low-down on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/new-star-wars-the-old-republic-dev-walkthrough-takes-players-to/">Tatooine</a>, the newly introduced player vehicles, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/13/e3-2011-hands-on-impressions-of-star-wars-the-old-republic/">what players can expect</a> in regard to <a href="http://www.massively.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic"><em>The Old Republic's</em></a> much-hyped story.<br />
	<br />
	For the full video, sadly lacking in the Uncle Casey's mailbag department, jump on past the cut.</div><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/16/the-mmo-report-nerd-flu-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Nerd-flu edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/16/the-mmo-report-nerd-flu-edition/">The MMO Report: Nerd-flu edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 16 Jun 2011 20:30:00 EST. This week's <a href="http://www.g4tv.com/videos/53182/the-mmo-report-thursday-june-2nd/?quality=hd">MMO Report</a> is all about Casey's ego. Not one shred of MMO news bullied its way onto the show this week, unless you count a story about <a href="http://us.battlestar-galactica.bigpoint.com/"><em>Battlestar Galactica Online</em></a> reaching two million subscribers as news. OK, maybe you can count <a href="http://www.ageofconan.com/"><em>Age of Conan</em></a> going free-to-play, or maybe the newest <a href="http://www.minecraft.net/"><em>Minecraft</em></a> update is technically news. Perhaps <a href="http://www.perfectworld.com/">Perfect World Entertainment</a> buying <a href="http://crypticstudios.com/">Cryptic Studios</a> would be considered news, too. But let's not forget: The MMO Report is really about Uncle Casey's Mail Bag. So that is exactly what will fill the rest of this post.<br />
<br />
The Mail Bag this week is all about love, love, and memes. Fans share their love for each other, love for Casey, and love for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/morgan-webb/">Morgan Webb</a>. Yes, she's been gone for two weeks, but apparently Casey's manly smell has not ousted the memory of the time <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/05/19/the-mmo-report-lineage-shutdown-lions-arch-and-sith-inquisit/">Morgan hosted the MMO Report</a>. One fan has not forgotten; he was so inspired that he created a meme about it just to show how much he cared.<br />
<br />
Jump past the break if you are interested in catching a glimpse of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/casey-schreiner/">Casey Schreiner</a>'s ego. We have the full video ready to go. Maybe you will catch the news that we missed while staring at Casey's incredible beard.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/02/the-mmo-report-casey-says-frak-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The MMO Report: Casey says frak edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/02/the-mmo-report-casey-says-frak-edition/">The MMO Report: Casey says frak edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 02 Jun 2011 22:00:00 EST.
