Speak with an agent and accept a mission, look up the details by pointing your in-game browser to <a href="http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports">EVE-Survival: Mission Reports</a>, gear up properly and watch the ISK fill your wallet as you down NPC pirate after pirate. Profitable, sure, but doing this for weeks on end will probably have you craving some more variety in your <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/pve">PvE gameplay</a>. <br /><br />Hopefully <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> players will be getting that variety through more engaging storylines beginning next month, as developer CCP Molock explains in his latest dev blog. The <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/apocrypha"><em>Apocrypha</em> expansion</a> will introduce "Epic Missions", a departure from the standard rinse-and-repeat when accepting agent missions. These new missions will be linked together in an ongoing storyline, played out across a number of missions. Players will make choices that determine the outcomes of Epic Missions via the new branching system that will accompany these missions. The rewards will be on par with standard agent missions, but the completion of a chapter and especially an arc will provide some exceptional rewards, CCP Molock says.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/02/25/eve-onlines-first-epic-mission-arc-to-arrive-with-apocrypha-exp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EVE Online's first Epic Mission Arc to arrive with Apocrypha expansion</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/02/25/eve-onlines-first-epic-mission-arc-to-arrive-with-apocrypha-exp/">EVE Online's first Epic Mission Arc to arrive with Apocrypha expansion</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 25 Feb 2009 19:00:00 EST. Of course, many players aren't willing to enlist in a militia and be under a constant wardec by their factional enemies, and simply prefer to mission run for their agents. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games">CCP Games</a> announced that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/15/eve-online-dev-blog-new-missions-galore/">new content was in the works,</a> back in June, but the latest <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> Newsletter has an <a href="http://www.eve-online.com/community/newsletters/vol020.html">updated announcement</a> on this from Lead Content Creator, Scott Holden. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.ccpgames.com">CCP</a> is getting closer to releasing new PvE mission content, Holden says, with Content Creation now based in Atlanta. This will be sped up by new staff on the Content Creation team in addition to the existing freelance writers already turning out <em>EVE</em> mission content. Holden says that new types of missions are coming to New Eden, and hints at 'epic mission arcs'.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/13/eve-lead-content-creator-discusses-new-missions/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EVE Lead Content Creator discusses new missions</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/13/eve-lead-content-creator-discusses-new-missions/">EVE Lead Content Creator discusses new missions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 13 Aug 2008 19:00:00 EST. However, new and deviant professions have arisen in a kind of symbiosis with the more established trades in the game. This is the focus of an article called 'Morality and Legality', <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/05/20/new-edens-virtual-reporters/">written by ISD</a> Magnus Balteus of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games">CCP Games.</a> 'Morality and Legality' looks at two of the sketchier professions that sprang from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><span style="font-style: italic;">EVE's</span></a> more standard career paths. <br /><br />Mining has given rise to ore theft, which boils down to theft that has the side benefit of potentially <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/when-carebears-attack/ ">baiting the victim into combat,</a> even in high security space. If the ore thief or 'can flipper' is successful, he or she can make off with the ore that someone else mined plus the modules looted from the miner's ship wreck. The morality of this type of career doesn't even enter into the equation... this is <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE.</span> <a href="http://www.ccpgames.com">CCP's</a> unwillingness to change the game mechanics involved in can flipping means that this is not an exploit, it's a valid profession, albeit not in the mind of the miner victim.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/09/morality-and-legality-in-eve-online/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Morality and legality in EVE Online</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/09/morality-and-legality-in-eve-online/">Morality and legality in EVE Online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 09 Aug 2008 11:30:00 EST. And too much of it, scattered throughout his hangars in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/new-eden">New Eden.</a> It's a common problem in <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online,</em></a> particularly for players who roam a lot throughout the galaxy. Mission runners, ratters, and adherents of most any trade or livelihood in the game accumulate a lot of random assets, individually of low worth but which can hold substantial value when seen as a whole. Unfortunately, what Winterblink describes in his blog gets even worse when a player uses containers to organize their possessions by category across multiple stations. The contents of those containers cannot be viewed remotely; one has to be docked in that particular station to see what's inside. <br /><br />Winterblink decided he couldn't handle the clutter anymore and <a href="http://winterblink.com/?p=269">shared the most efficient way</a> he's found to deal with it all, step-by-step. He also had a good idea about having a container that only has the modules for his preferred ship fittings. Slowboating all over New Eden to consolidate his assets worked out for Winterblink. But this writer found that the negligible value of his junk and the time lost consolidating it wouldn't be worth the effort, and opted to ruthlessly destroy a fair amount of it, rather than collect and reprocess or resell the odds and ends. The slash-and-burn approach works for Tech I modules, but once ships and Tech II of anything enter into the picture, Winterblink's way is best. Especially in that he opted to reprocess the materials rather than trying to sell them all on the market.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/03/winterblink-asset-control-and-consolidation-in-eve-online/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Winterblink: asset control and consolidation in EVE Online</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/03/winterblink-asset-control-and-consolidation-in-eve-online/">Winterblink: asset control and consolidation in EVE Online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 03 Jul 2008 18:30:00 EST.
