As a part of the Havok-4 project, there was <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/12/22/megaprims-to-stay-andrew-linden/">considerable discussion about bringing large prims back</a> into the picture again, so we think this is an intentional change, rather than an accidental one.<br /></p>
<p>Whether or not <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/second-life"><em>Second Life</em></a> users were supposed to find out about this or not at this stage, they certainly have. Simple packet-injection gimmicks have spawned whole new packages of the so-called megaprims in the last 36 hours, <a href="http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&amp;file=item&amp;ItemID=685589">many of which are freely available</a>. Indeed, we've been sent lots of them.<br /></p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/05/10/megaprims-on-the-loose-again/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Megaprims on the loose again</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/05/10/megaprims-on-the-loose-again/">Megaprims on the loose again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 10 May 2008 02:00:00 EST. <p>Megaprims in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/second-life" target="_blank"><em>Second Life</em></a> are prims (primitive geometric shapes that everything is made out of) that are larger than the standard size. These mightily oversized components were originally created through an exploit and are used in many places in <em>Second Life,</em> for construction, decoration and causing grief or inconvenience to others.</p>

<p>During a talk at the Volunteer Island Meeting Area today, Andrew Linden mentioned megaprims during a discussion about the new Havok 4 implementation.</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/12/22/megaprims-to-stay-andrew-linden/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Megaprims to stay - Andrew Linden</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/12/22/megaprims-to-stay-andrew-linden/">Megaprims to stay - Andrew Linden</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 22 Dec 2007 01:30:00 EST.
