<em>Join me as I brave my way through lands unknown in an adventure dictated entirely by you, the Massively readers! Vote for everything from game played to character creation to ultimate goal and watch it unfold in a series of journals and galleries here on the site. </em><span style="font-style: italic;">Then, as our two months are up, we'll do it all over again in a new game!<br />
<br />
</span>This is our last week with NCsoft's <a href="http://na.aiononline.com/"><em>Aion</em></a>, so we want to make sure to give it a proper send-off. If you haven't been following along, I spent the last six weeks with <a href="http://massively.com/category/aion"><em>Aion</em></a>, exploring the game as a brand-new player would, with a little help from your suggestions along the way.<br />
<br />
So did I enjoy myself? What's my overall impression of the first 23 levels of the game? Most importantly: did I have fun? Keep reading after the jump to find out what I thought.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/06/23/choose-my-adventure-farewell-to-aion/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Choose my Adventure: Farewell to Aion</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/06/23/choose-my-adventure-farewell-to-aion/">Choose my Adventure: Farewell to Aion</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 23 Jun 2010 11:00:00 EST. Well hello there intrepid Massively readers! This week, instead of my usual selection of complaints crammed into the tight space of a single column, I've decided to do something different. This Monday, I opened up a call for questions on anything MMO related on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/massively">Massively Facebook fan page</a>, the <a href="http://www.twitter.com/massively">Massively Twitter</a>, and my own <a href="http://www.twitter.com/sera_brennan">personal Twitter</a>. You guys didn't disappoint, and you certainly sent me more than a few intriguing e-mails.<br /><br />So, for the past three days, I've been preparing responses to some of the questions that landed in my inbox. What did intrepid readers ask me to answer? Whose e-mails did I select from the pile of text I received? <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2R3FvS4xr4">What is the airspeed of an African Swallow</a>? These and many other questions (except that swallow one, that one's been done to death, <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=airspeed+of+an+african+swallow">go Google it or something</a>) shall be answered after the break! <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wd4aysUovpo">Thundercats, hoooooooooo</a>!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/15/anti-aliased-the-mailbag-edition/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Anti-Aliased: The mailbag edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/15/anti-aliased-the-mailbag-edition/">Anti-Aliased: The mailbag edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 15 Oct 2009 16:00:00 EST. Many Aion communities saw a need to coordinate their members and were much quicker than we were to organize surveys. We have decided to honor their hard work by permanently taking our own survey down, since we have no desire to interfere with what our great communities accomplish or cause confusion. We will continue to work with the fansites in our Fansite Program to promote their community survey results.</em><br /><br /><a href="http://massively.com/tag/ncsoft">NCsoft</a> has put up an <a href="http://www.aionsource.com/forum/news-announcements/52809-aion-team-releases-its-public-server-survey.html">official server select poll</a> up on <a href="http://bit.ly/aionservers">SurveyMonkey</a> for <em><a href="http://aiononline.com">Aion</a></em>. Anyone can participate by choosing which region they're from, whether or not they're a role-player, and then which server they plan to play on. The results will be released on September 18 to help <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/09/16/aion-preselection-and-head-start-programs-detailed/">preselect players</a> decide which servers they should make characters on. <br /> <br /> There is currently a bit of a competition going between Lumiel and Zikel as the official Eastern role-playing server. Before the release of this official poll, <a href="http://massively.com/category/aion"><span style="font-style: italic;">Aion</span></a> role-players were gathering up to <a href="http://www.aionsource.com/forum/lumiel-east/50707-lumiel-voted-unofficial-rp-server.html">declare Lumiel the unofficial RP server</a> because <a href="http://ncsoft.com/">NCsoft</a> didn't appear as though they were going to arbitrarily pick one. Recently, many <a href="http://warhammeronline.com/"><em>Warhammer Online</em></a> players from Phoenix Throne (the biggest and only official RP server) decided to organize an effort to <a href="http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=293119">steal the vote for Zikel</a>. Many other hardcore PvP guilds seem to be vying for Zikel as well. We won't know the results of this until Friday.<br /> <br /> There seems to be another battle going on between Eastern and Pacific servers as well. We haven't been able to confirm any exact times, but apparently certain PvP events will be 'timed' in <em>Aion</em>, such as fortress vulnerability and the <a href="http://www.spooncraft.com/aion/aion-dreadgion-siege-briefing/">Dreadgion</a>. The issue arises when players of the same guild who live in different time zones have to decide on a single server to play on. If, for example, a fortress can only be raided from 8PM-11PM PDT, that makes it prime time for west coast players. Eastern guildies who have to work in the morning might not be too keen on playing from 11PM-1AM EDT.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/09/16/help-ncsoft-help-you-aion-server-poll-arrives/">Help NCsoft help you: Aion server poll arrives</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 16 Sep 2009 20:00:00 EST.
