With <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/rise-of-isengard/"><em>Rise of Isengard</em></a> creeping up on us, I've seen an increasing number of people begin to freak out about it, not because they're upset it's coming but because they're not prepared to partake in the expansion on day one. Now, this might not be important to you, but I assure you it's quite important to many -- lots of people like to be in on the excitement from the very beginning, and it's a special kind of torture to contemplate having to sit there and listen to your friends oohing and ahhing over the new zones and content while you're still poking your way through Moria.<br />
<br />
So because of this, some players really, really want to get a character up to level 65, prepared to do a dive roll right into Dunland when September 27th hits. It's understandable. Even I, a normally laid-back type of guy, am pushing hard to finish up Enedwaith with my Lore-master so that I'll have one character good to go on I-Day (that's Isengard Day).<br />
<br />
But what about those who don't have a level 65 in their pockets? Is it too late to get your act in gear and get up there before it's too late? Of course it isn't. I'm pretty convinced that you could even roll a fresh toon today and get him or her up to the endgame by I-Day, depending on how much time you can dedicate to it.<br />
<br />
Today we're going to look at a few leveling tips I've picked up over the years to aid those of you who want to kick in the afterburners of the leveling process so that you can make sure you're where you want to be. It's not even that hard!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/the-road-to-mordor-power-to-the-levelers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Road to Mordor: Power to the levelers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/the-road-to-mordor-power-to-the-levelers/">The Road to Mordor: Power to the levelers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 12 Aug 2011 17:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.thefellowshipmovie.com/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/massively.joystiq.com/media/2011/06/fellows1.jpg" style="border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; margin: 4px;" /></a></div>
Buzz has been increasing about an intriguing independent film that looks to blend Tolkien love, geek pride, and <a href="http://www.lotro.com/"><em>Lord of the Rings Online</em></a> fandom into one epic adventure. Called <a href="http://www.thefellowshipmovie.com/">The Fellows Hip: Rise of the Gamers</a>, this movie is about a group of friends who undertake a journey to a convention in order to participate in a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/lord-of-the-rings-online"><em>LotRO</em></a> gaming competition (and stick it to some bullies while they're at it).<br />
<br />
Many blogs, such as <a href="http://lotroreporter.com/2011/06/11/lotro-reporter-episode-88-the-fellows-hip-redux/">LOTRO Reporter</a> and <a href="http://www.casualstrolltomordor.com/2011/06/episode94/">A Casual Stroll to Mordor</a>, have promoted this up-and-coming film, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/16/lord-of-the-rings-online-fan-film-trailer-released/">and after seeing the trailer</a>, we too became fascinated with what could be a fun movie that puts MMO gaming front and center.<br />
<br />
One may not simply walk into Mordor, but with the right connections, one could phone the folks up there. We got on the line with three crew members for The Fellows Hip -- <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Ron-Newcomb/">Ron Newcomb</a> (producer, director and writer), <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Scott-Mathais/">Scott Mathais</a> (producer and writer), and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Shane-McClung/">Shane McClung</a> (producer) -- to see just what type of lovable insanity would cause a group of people to throw together such a movie.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/01/the-road-to-mordor-a-talk-with-the-crew-of-the-fellows-hip-ris/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Road to Mordor: A talk with the crew of The Fellows Hip: Rise of the Gamers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/07/01/the-road-to-mordor-a-talk-with-the-crew-of-the-fellows-hip-ris/">The Road to Mordor: A talk with the crew of The Fellows Hip: Rise of the Gamers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 01 Jul 2011 18:00:00 EST. (With plenty of help from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/turbine">Turbine</a>, who provided the prizes.)<br />
<br />
About a month ago, they introduced <a href="http://lotroreporter.wordpress.com/2009/12/16/win-siege-of-mirkwood-and-the-adventurers-pack/">a contest</a>: give a little of your time doing a random act of kindness for someone in-game. Help them through a quest, craft something for them, that sort of thing. Send in a description, and be entered in a drawing to win a <a href="http://www.lotro.com/mirkwood"><em>Siege of Mirkwood</em></a> combo pack. <br />
<br />
The two contest winners <a href="http://lotroreporter.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/random-act-of-kindness-winners/">were announced today</a>, and their stories can be found here. (One of the winners profited even more than expected, in the form of a new friend in addition to her prize.) It's always nice to see players bringing something positive to the community, so our thanks go out to <a href="http://www.turbine.com/">Turbine</a>, <em>LotRO</em> Reporter, and everyone who entered for making Middle-earth a nicer place to be.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/01/20/lord-of-the-rings-online-fansite-contest-winners-announced/">Lord of the Rings Online fansite contest winners announced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 20 Jan 2010 21:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.lotro.com/"><em>Lord of the Rings Online</em></a> expansion <a href="http://www.lotro.com/mirkwood/"><em>Siege of Mirkwood</em></a> is set to go live tomorrow, and for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/lord-of-the-rings-online"><em>LotRO</em></a> fans who have been waiting for it, that final day can feel pretty long. How can anxious fans pass the time while those last hours tick away?<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lotroreporter.wordpress.com/author/almazar/">Almazar</a> at <a href="http://lotroreporter.wordpress.com/"><em>LotRO</em> Reporter</a> has been making his wait easier by posting ideas on how to...well, <a href="http://lotroreporter.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/what-to-do-on-the-first-days-of-siege-of-mirkwood/">make the wait easier</a>.
