We feel that it's our duty here at Massively to remind the world at large that <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a> is not, in fact, the only MMORPG out there. So while it's amusing to see people go around wearing "Save The Murlocs" t-shirts, it'd be awesome to see the clothing love spread to other titles.<br />
<br />
So if you could make a t-shirt for your favorite MMO, what catchy phrase would you put on it? Personally, I'd love to see a "I Was Miserable At Misery's Peak" tee for <a href="http://www.ddo.com/"><em>Dungeons and Dragons Online</em></a>, or even a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/10/choose-my-adventure-passing-chris-wednesday/">Rolling Clones</a> shirt for <a href="http://www.fallenearth.com/"><em>Fallen Earth</em></a>. I may even be tempted to construct a "Shire University -- The Running Pies" t-shirt for <a href="http://www.lotro.com/"><em>Lord of the Rings Online</em></a>. We need some way to honor our pie-running alumni, and this would be perfect.<br />
<br />
It may be early in the morning, but that's no excuse to be sluggish! Put on your creative caps and let's hear it -- what MMO t-shirt would you make if you had the chance?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/05/22/the-daily-grind-what-would-your-t-shirt-say/">The Daily Grind: What would your t-shirt say?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 22 May 2010 08:00:00 EST. We mentioned an earlier video that focused on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/06/19/all-points-bulletin-video-podcast-shows-off-scope-of-customizati/">customization options players will have</a>, but <a href="http://www.realtimeworlds.com/">Realtime Worlds</a> is taking that a step further in their latest video podcast, which walks the viewer through the layer-based symbol customization players will use in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/all-points-bulletin"><em>All Points Bulletin</em></a>.<br /><br />The demonstration from senior concept artist Jon Stockwell shows how simple it is to create and manipulate layers in a symbol, resulting in your own unique look. As the video shows, that symbol can be applied to characters in the form of tattoos or graphics on clothing, and even used to detail your vehicles. Have a look at the video we've embedded for you below, and let us know what you think.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/07/05/all-points-bulletin-video-podcast-shows-off-symbol-creation-and/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>All Points Bulletin video podcast shows off symbol creation and character customization</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/07/05/all-points-bulletin-video-podcast-shows-off-symbol-creation-and/">All Points Bulletin video podcast shows off symbol creation and character customization</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sun, 05 Jul 2009 16:00:00 EST. You can submit your own custom image which then becomes your alliance logo, viewable in-game. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> dev <a href="http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=author&amp;p=CCP%20Loktofeit">CCP Loktofeit</a> stated that there are now going to be changes with the Alliance Logo System which should cut down on the time between submission and when your logo is visible in-game.<br /><br />Unfortunately, as this new submission process goes into effect, any alliance that has submitted their logos but have not yet received approval will need to re-submit. Loktofeit said, <em>"All previous submissions have been purged form the database in preparation for the new system."</em> If this situation affects you or your alliance, you'll need to review the updated submission criteria, and read up a bit on the new submission/review/acceptance processes as well, which are detailed in <a href="http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&amp;bid=585">CCP Loktofeit's dev blog</a> and <a href="http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&amp;threadID=904680">being discussed on the forums</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/24/changes-to-custom-alliance-logos-in-eve-online/">Changes to custom alliance logos in EVE Online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 24 Oct 2008 10:00:00 EST. <p>MIT Media Lab's Eric Rosenbaum has produced a wonderful little tool called Scratch for <a href="http://secondlife.com/"><em>Second Life</em></a> (S4SL). Available for Mac or Windows (but not Linux at present, alas) S4SL allows you to create scripts by assembling simple colorful shapes (a bit like plastic bricks).</p>
<p>S4SL is based on MIT's <a href="http://scratch.mit.edu/"><em>Scratch</em></a>, and allows you to put together some useful functionality very simply. S4SL isn't going to make you a star creator of scripts overnight, though -- anyone who knows <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/second-life">Second Life's</a></em> LSL scripting language and has a modicum of programming skill can do much more, but that's not the point here.<br /></p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/tools-of-the-trade-scratch-for-sl/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tools of the trade: Scratch for SL</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/tools-of-the-trade-scratch-for-sl/">Tools of the trade: Scratch for SL</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 14 Jul 2008 11:30:00 EST.
