Who's more terrifying than The Joker? For our money, it's the woman who's become so infatuated with him that she's turned to a life of insane crime just to win his approval. Initially, The Joker's psychiatrist, Dr. Harleen Quinzel, fell hard for the clown prince and hasn't looked back since. A new jester-themed wardrobe, a punny take on her name, and the rest became history.<br />
<br />
While we've seen the villain Harley Quinn in some of <a href="http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/"><em>DC Universe Online's</em></a> screenshots already, it's great to hear the official announcement of this fan favorite in the game. From her pictures, it seems as though Harley's favorite weapon is a giant carnival mallet, a combination of the cartoonish and deadly.<br />
<br />
Villain characters will have the opportunity to assist Harley Quinn in her nefarious schemes once <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/dc-universe-online"><em>DCUO</em></a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/12/21/dc-universe-online-sets-pricing-and-new-launch-date/">launches next month</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/12/23/a-better-sidekick-than-robin-for-sure-dcuo-reveals-ms-harley-q/">A better sidekick than Robin for sure: DCUO reveals Ms. Harley Quinn</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 23 Dec 2010 11:30:00 EST. Credibility is a precious resource; DJ Jester of <a href="http://www.w00tstudios.net">w00tstudios.net</a> is one of those people on the MMO circuit who has bags of it stashed under his mattress. His podcasts have always been right on the pulse, and he's had many worthy personages in the past as guests, from April 'CuppaJo' Burba to Matt 'Positron' Miller.<br /><br />Now, Floyd 'Castle' Grubb, aka Castle the Powers Guy from <em><a href="http://www.coh.com">City of Heroes</a>,</em> joins Jester and friends at the mike for a 41 minute megasesh in which the coming changes to powers in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/cox"><em>CoX</em></a> are expertly dissected, laid out and examined for your delight and edification.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/08/a-castle-a-jester-and-a-parcel-of-cox-power-changes/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A Castle, a Jester, and a parcel of CoX power changes</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/08/a-castle-a-jester-and-a-parcel-of-cox-power-changes/">A Castle, a Jester, and a parcel of CoX power changes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 08 Oct 2008 15:00:00 EST. Keen-eyed reader Jester has alerted us to an interesting clue that might be <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/cryptic-studios/">Cryptic</a>'s way of telling us what their other MMO in development might be. On their <a href="http://crypticstudios.com/">front page</a>, Cryptic has a small countdown clock with a lovely space background, but no other text over it.<br /><br />Over at Star Trek fansite Trekcore, they've <a href="http://gaming.trekcore.com/startrekonline/conceptart.html">posted a ton</a> of the concept artwork that had been previously done by Perpetual for the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-trek-online/">Star Trek Online</a></em> before it got canceled. <a href="http://gaming.trekcore.com/startrekonline/conceptart/concept29.jpg">One of the pieces</a> is the same blue-washed planet scene immediately discernible as the background for Cryptic's countdown timer. We've inset the clock into the concept piece for your viewing pleasure above. Is this a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoking_gun">smoking gun</a>? Or, rather, a plasma-venting core?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/13/is-cryptic-hinting-at-star-trek-online/">Is Cryptic hinting at Star Trek Online?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 13 Jun 2008 10:00:00 EST. There you are zipping around <a href="http://www.cityofheroes.com/gameinfo/paragon_city.html">Paragon City</a> looking for a criminal skull or two to bust when suddenly a "hero" (or villain if you're playing <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/city-of-villains/"><em>CoV</em></a>) named "jlaksjdflakd" clad in pink spandex and green skin suddenly pops into your peripheral. No, it's not a small childlike noob entering the city for the first time. It's something far, far worse. It's... <em><strong>the attack of the bottom feeding, scum sucking gold farmer!!<br /></strong></em><br />We've all had similar experiences. No MMO is immune to these <a href="http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&amp;q=ne%27er-do-wells">ne'er-do-wells</a>. But the <em>CoX</em> universe has remained relatively unscathed. Until now. Thankfully, gamers don't have to take this laying down... and neither do the developers. In fact, they're fighting back.<a href="http://www.w00tstudios.net"> W00t Studios</a> head honcho Jester just began a recurring feature called <a href="http://www.w00tstudios.net/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=107&amp;Itemid=6">The Fight Against Spam</a>. The series will highlight the valiant efforts of various game developers as they fight the good fight against the nefarious Real Money Traders (RMT).<br /><br />This first entry highlights what <a href="http://www.plaync.com/us/">NCsoft</a> has done to hinder spammers in <em>CoX</em>. Several months ago they implemented the "/ignore_spammer" command which lets players ignore (and automatically report to the GM's) a would be trouble maker. Once several reports against the same account are logged, they're banned. The tide of battle seems to have swung in their favor, but the supergroup at NCsoft isn't resting on their laurels. As of yesterday the in-game mail system has been drastically restricted. Now players under level 12 no longer have mail privileges, forcing these malevolent miscreants to their knees by making them do some leveling work of their own. Granted, it may only slow them down... but it's a giant step in the right direction.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/01/22/when-gold-farmers-attack/">When gold farmers attack!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 22 Jan 2008 17:30:00 EST.
