Today, we'll check out the short documentary created for the art project, which was actually meant to simulate a sweatshop! In ten easy steps, they outline how to start the business, keep your employees happy, and where to go from there.<br /><br /><a href="http://xantherus.blip.tv/posts?view=archive&amp;nsfw=dc">Annie Ok</a> did a great job with this <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/machinima/">machinima</a>. Project producers Stephanie Rothenberg and Jeff Crouse will be hosting another mixed-reality event on Tuesday, April 15th. You can find more details on the <a href="http://www.mediartchina.org/events/newyorkmoma">National Art Museum of China website</a>.<br /><br />If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/13/cinemassively-invisible-threads-or-the-making-of-a-virtual-swe/">Cinemassively: Invisible Threads, or the making of a virtual sweatshop</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sun, 13 Apr 2008 12:30:00 EST. They first found an island, <a href="http://slurl.com/secondlife/Eyebeam%20Island/204/43/27/?img=http%3A//www.doublehappinessjeans.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/preview.jpg&amp;title=Double%20Happiness%20Manufacturing">Eyebeam</a>, which would serve as the base of operations for <a href="http://www.doublehappinessjeans.com/our-product/">Double Happiness Jeans</a>. Then they began recruiting residents to work in their factory.<br /><br />These new employees would work for five days, in three hour shifts, and in return, receive a tiny parcel of land and 200 Linden dollars per real hour. A variety of positions were available, including laser cutters and dye vat operators. The catch is that while they were pressing buttons in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/second-life/"><em>Second Life</em></a>, they were actually part of an assembly process for jeans manufacturing at the <a href="http://www.sundance.org/festival/">Sundance Film Festival</a>! Tomorrow, we'll view the results of their project.<br /><br />If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/12/cinemassively-double-happiness-jeans-recruits-virtual-workers/">Cinemassively: Double Happiness Jeans recruits virtual workers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 12 Apr 2008 12:30:00 EST.
