A few weeks ago, after many weeks of seeing new players in <em><a href="http://swtor.com">Star Wars: The Old Republic</a></em> warzones, I thought it would be a good idea to post <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/08/07/hyperspace-beacon-how-to-smoke-your-opponents-in-swtors-huttba/">a little guide on the basics of winning Huttball</a>. Interestingly, that article birthed a conversation about how some classes were better suited for the game, but more importantly, some players had given up on the warzone because they felt that their particular class didn't work in Huttball at all.<br />
<br />
Admittedly, certain classes do have more utilities that make them a better fit for the game, but I believe every class has its role in this particular arena. And more importantly, I believe that every class can have fun and feel useful. However, some players need a bit of training.<br />
<br />
Two weeks ago, I covered <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/08/14/hyperspace-beacon-all-swtor-classes-are-useful-in-huttball-par/">the Sith Warrior, Jedi Knight, Imperial Agent, and Smuggler classes</a>. In this week's coverage, I'm going to take a look at two <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic/"><em>SWTOR</em></a> classes that seems to be built for this game and two others that have more surprises than you might think: the Sith Inquisitor, Jedi Consular, Republic Trooper, and Bounty Hunter.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/08/28/hyperspace-beacon-all-swtor-classes-are-useful-in-huttball-par/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hyperspace Beacon: All SWTOR classes are useful in Huttball, part two</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/08/28/hyperspace-beacon-all-swtor-classes-are-useful-in-huttball-par/">Hyperspace Beacon: All SWTOR classes are useful in Huttball, part two</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 28 Aug 2012 12:00:00 EST. <div>
	With <a href="http://e3expo.com">E3</a> last week, I really considered devoting this article to opinions regarding the latest news for <a href="http://swtor.com"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>. Then I realized that Massively already published a ton of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic/"><em>SWTOR</em></a> related articles about <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/e3-2011/">E3 this week</a>. During the show itself, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/07/e3-2011-hands-on-with-swtors-imperial-agent-operative/">Dan gave his impressions</a> of playing the game, and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/13/e3-2011-hands-on-impressions-of-star-wars-the-old-republic/">all four of our attendees delivered impressions yesterday</a>. It's good to read impressions from people who love MMOs but aren't necessarily die-hard fans of <a href="http://bioware.com">BioWare</a> or Star Wars -- you'll get a different perspective than you would reading this column.<br />
	<br />
	So instead, this week I'll examine the announced abilities for the Jedi Consular class. The majority of this information stems from the advanced class page, but there is a little bit that comes from <a href="http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/367/feature/5273/Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic-Advanced-Classes-Interview.html">MMORPG's interview</a> with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Georg-Zoeller">Georg Zoeller</a>. Hop past the break as we explore the abilities of this powerful Force-user.</div><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/14/hyperspace-beacon-find-the-force/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hyperspace Beacon: Find the Force</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/14/hyperspace-beacon-find-the-force/">Hyperspace Beacon: Find the Force</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 14 Jun 2011 13:00:00 EST. Wow... 2010 is almost over, and <a href="http://swtor.com"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a> is not released yet. OK, I had speculated at the beginning of this year that we would not see it until 2011. But if you had asked me in October of 2008 (when the official site was launched), I would have told you that the launch was at the end of 2009. There was no way in my mind that a company would launch its website that early. Boy, was I wrong. Little did I know at the time that I would be sitting here at the end of 2010 (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010:_Odyssey_Two">the year new life was to begin on Europa</a>), <em>not </em>playing what I hoped would be my favorite game <em>ever</em>. However, this has all given me time to think back about what <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic/"><em>SWTOR</em></a> has given us this year.<br />
<br />
The year 2010 was the year of <em>SWTOR</em> reveals. Some have questioned whether too much has been revealed -- or rather, hyped. We have had group <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/star-wars-the-old-republic-drops-a-surprise-video-documentary/">combat videos</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/06/04/a-favored-swg-developer-moves-to-swtor/">designers switching games</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/05/07/lucasarts-president-resigns-effect-on-tor-uncertain/">CEOs retiring</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/06/18/e3-2010-hands-on-with-the-old-republics-smuggler-class/">opinionated play-throughs</a>, and many other news items. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mTUmczVdik">Would you say we have had a plethora</a> of <em>SWTOR</em> news this year? Oh yes, we have had a plethora, El Guapo. I have my favorites and my not-so favorites. Let's explore a few of them in this little retrospective.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/12/28/hyperspace-beacon-2010-retro/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hyperspace Beacon: 2010 Retro!</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/12/28/hyperspace-beacon-2010-retro/">Hyperspace Beacon: 2010 Retro!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 28 Dec 2010 11:00:00 EST. </a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">A few months back at <a href="http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/en/gamescom/home/index.php">Gamescom</a>, <a href="http://bioware.com">BioWare</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/08/18/gamescom-2010-bioware-reveals-10-new-advance-classes-for-tor/">announced the names of all the advanced classes</a> for <a href="http://swtor.com"><em>Star Wars: The Old Republic</em></a>, and one name in particular stood out to fans for all the wrong reasons. A <a href="http://www.swtor.com/info/holonet/classes/jedi-consular">Jedi Consular</a> sub-class was called Wizard, and fans decided that the name was not Star Wars-y enough because <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-the-old-republic/"><em>SWTOR</em></a> is a science-fiction game, not fantasy. However, the creators at BioWare wanted to stick to the name by justifying the name on the official forum and in interviews. But now, it seems they have caved. The ranged and healing sub-class will be renamed to Jedi Sage, Jedi Seer, or Jedi Adept. The best news is that you, the fans, get to choose. Head to the <em>SWTOR</em> forums and <a href="http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=221713">place your vote for your favorite name</a>.<br />
<br />
Continuing the trend of giving the fans what they asked for, BioWare created a new video of Warzone ingame footage. For those who are unfamiliar, the Warzones are the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/06/15/bioware-discuss-swtor-player-ships-group-gameplay-and-pvp-at-e3/">PvP areas announced at E3</a>. <a href="http://www.swtor.com/info/holonet/planets/alderaan">Alderaan</a> is the only planet we know of that has a Warzone, so they weren't shy about showing some of that off in the new trailer. The Imperial forces have invaded a Republic outpost in an attempt gain control of Alderaani skies. Will you help the Republic or the Empire? Catch the video after the break.</div><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/star-wars-the-old-republic-warzones-and-wizards-rename/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Star Wars: The Old Republic -- Warzones and Wizard's rename</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/star-wars-the-old-republic-warzones-and-wizards-rename/">Star Wars: The Old Republic -- Warzones and Wizard's rename</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 05 Nov 2010 13:00:00 EST.
