Namely, how the game might expand by <a href="http://myeve.eve-online.com/api/doc/">leveraging the <em>EVE</em> API</a>. It looks like CCP is taking the next step in making this happen, from the <a href="http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&amp;threadID=960122">announcement an <em>EVE</em> player came across</a> -- one that suggests mobile and iPhone applications for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> may be coming. <br /><br /><a href="http://ru.is/?PageID=723">Reykjavik University</a> and <a href="http://www.mit.edu/">MIT</a> maintain cooperation through the <a href="http://ilp-www.mit.edu/display_page.a4d?key=H1">MIT Industrial Liaison Program</a> (ILP), which is essentially a way to tap the expertise of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for specific projects. An announcement on the ILP site states that CCP Games is interested in seeing what MIT students can come up with in terms of <em>EVE</em> mobile and iPhone applications that make use of <em>EVE Online</em>'s API.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/12/30/ccp-games-aims-to-extend-eve-online-to-iphone-and-mobile-phones/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>CCP Games aims to extend EVE Online to iPhone and mobile phones</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/12/30/ccp-games-aims-to-extend-eve-online-to-iphone-and-mobile-phones/">CCP Games aims to extend EVE Online to iPhone and mobile phones</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 30 Dec 2008 20:00:00 EST. However, sometimes it's just used to complement videos made in engines that don't involve human interaction at all. Such is the case with <a href="http://www.vimeo.com/1080651">HypoHeretic</a>, created by <a href="http://www.themartinbros.com/">The Martin Brothers</a> in <a href="http://www.reallusion.com/iclone">iClone</a>.<br /><br />When John Martin III spoke on the machinima track of the 2007 <a href="http://www.slconvention.org/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Second Life</span> Community Convention</a>, he met a musician there, <a href="http://www.kirstyhawkshaw.co.uk/">Kirsty Hawkshaw</a>. Kirsty is a popular artist, with a dance track that is currently charting in the UK, and a long history of working with some very famous DJs! Together, they collaborated on a music video about a cyborg obsessed with meeting a virtual celebrity.<br /><br />[Thanks, John!<br /><br />If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/23/cinemassively-hypoheretic/">Cinemassively: HypoHeretic</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 23 Jun 2008 12:30:00 EST. In the words of Beast creator, <a href="http://www.binarypictureshow.com/">Dr. Nemesis</a>, "So far, facial animation has been very limited in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/machinima/">Machinima</a>. To get emotion across, most of us have had to rely on good acting, a well chosen sound track, and the viewers imagination, but not facial expression." In his current film, he uses <a href="http://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/">Crazy Talk</a>, <a href="http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=6837710&amp;siteID=123112">Motionbuilder</a>, and <a href="http://thesims2.ea.com/">Sims 2</a>, to overcome this issue.<br /><br />When the scene opens, you see two men. One is tied up and the other is yelling at him. As the story unfolds, you learn that the man in captivity has deeply wronged the other man, to the point where he has nothing left to lose. With each facial expression, punch thrown, and gut-wrenching confession, you feel his pain.<br /><br />While this is not traditional <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/">MMO</a> Machinima, you can learn from the tactics he used. In the future, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/second-life/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Second Life</span></a> will be part of a hybrid-Machinima movement. Filmmakers are already using multiple programs to blend their works, such as <a href="http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/">MovieStorm</a>, <a href="http://www.e-frontier.com/go/poser">Poser</a>, <a href="http://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/">Crazy Talk</a>, and <a href="http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/">iClone</a>. As merging mediums becomes popular, I believe we'll see a whole new level of quality work coming from the community.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/11/06/cinemassively-beast/">Cinemassively: Beast</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 06 Nov 2007 12:30:00 EST.
