If you're feeling a little beside yourself these days, Prius Online is right there with you. The vibrant anime MMO that features the ability to play three characters at once has finally entered the closed beta stage today.

It's a big day for publisher gPotato, which transported Prius Online over from Korea for the North American audiences as a premier free-to-play title. Closed beta testing will take place from April 28th through May 8th and includes six classes that can be played up to level 25. Prius Online promises a special experience as your character travels with two steadfast companions, forging a permanent party of sorts.

Both FilePlanet and Big Download have the beta client available to snag right away. To celebrate this special period of the game's development cycle, Prius Online is holding several in-game contests, such as a race to the level cap, and is handing out rewards to all beta testers. Closed beta keys for Final Fantasy XIV are a pretty hot commodity these days, and FilePlanet has managed to get it's virtual hands on some.

The site is being very clear that this is a limited number of keys, and the FilePlanet powers-that-be are acting accordingly. You'll need to be a FilePlanet or Founders' Club subscriber in North America, you'll need to watch closely, and you'll need to be fast. They'll release one batch of keys every day until August 16th, and once they're all claimed for the day, that's it.

Thinking of returning to Aion to check out the 1.9 patch? You're not alone, as folks are beginning to trickle back into the world of Atreia to partake in the improved XP and other tweaks. If you've deleted the game from your hard drive, or you're a new player, you might want to check out the full client torrent that NCsoft has just released.

Given that the game has been out for nine months, and has been patched fairly regularly, you're likely to have a lengthy download and update process if you re-install from your original game discs. Happily, NCsoft has bundled the entire game client, as well as all the patches up to and including last week's 1.9, into a file that you can grab from FilePlanet. Alternatively, you can can grab a torrent from GamersHell or NCsoft's own server.

Are you looking forward to Rise of the Godslayer? Do you feel like it can't come soon enough? We've got less than a week to go until launch, but some fans aren't going to have to wait that long.

Fileplanet announced a sneak peek of Age of Conan's first expansion for their subscribers. If you're among that number, you have access to a key via their promotion page. If you're not, Fileplanet will of course be very happy to let you subscribe via the same page. While the expansion itself won't be available until tomorrow, the download is available now to allow subscribers to install ahead of time and jump right in once the sneak peek begins.

This is the full expansion rather than a limited version, but it's important to note that the page specifies North American subscribers as well as a limited number of keys, so grab one quickly if you're interested!

With the Age of Conan expansion Rise of the Godslayer approaching, opportunities for new and returning players to explore the game (or revisit it) have been more frequent than usual these days.

The latest offer comes via FilePlanet. If you're a FilePlanet subscriber, you can play the first part of the game for free in an unlimited trial. The offer is good until December 31st, but as long as you download before then, your trial will not expire. FilePlanet has a limited number of keys for this offer as well.

As a bonus, anyone taking FilePlanet up on their offer will receive a free Enruned Kosalan Ring, which was previously an in-game bonus available for buying an Age of Conan ZBoard keyset. The ring offers melee, ranged, and magic damage bonuses, as well as a +1% evade chance bonus.

The offer is available to customers in North America and Europe, and can be accessed through FilePlanet.

Alganon fans, you're going to want to make sure you're keeping an eye on Direct2Drive, as Quest Online has announced an exclusive partnership to sell the game solely through the online digital distribution service.

Pre-ordering the game before the launch date of October 31st will net you a variety of incentives, including beta access, study bonuses, mounts, family heirlooms, and more! While we don't have any exact information to offer on what those items are, it still sounds like a nice plethora of stuff for buying the game early.

Of course, partnering with D2D means partnering with IGN, and that means that Alganon's beta will be conducted exclusively through Fileplanet. Those guys over there will be the keepers of the Alganon beta keys from here on out, so look to them if you're interested in the game's upcoming open beta.

Aion's open beta is officially on the way so everybody will be able to sample the delights of Atreia between September 6th and 13th. Ahead of this, NCsoft has announced the availability of the Aion beta client. The client can now be downloaded from various corners of the internet, including FilePlanet and GamersHell, but the company has also announced they are making it available via BitTorrent.

Despite its shady reputation as the medium of choice for file-sharers and illegal downloads, BitTorrent itself is quite legal. Indeed it's a popular method of downloading files which has been embraced by numerous companies over the years. However, if you still want to use traditional methods, NCsoft has also announced that FilePlanet will be giving away a selection of open beta keys beginning Tuesday, September 1st. But anyone who has pre-ordered the game or won a full beta key from a competition just have to bid their time until the open beta begins.

As of, well a little while ago, anyone can head over to FilePlanet and grab themselves a Champions Online open beta key. The keys are limited, so we hope that by the time you see this there are still some available.

For those of you who're still here and not rushing to download the key as soon as possible, there's a thread over on the official forums explaining how to make use of your newly obtained key. We hope everyone who wants in, gets in, as there's bound to be some very cool things happening at the end of the beta itself. Oh wait, there is a cool event happening at the end of beta, hurray!

What's this taking up one of the center links on Fileplanet? Is it the upcoming MMO Earth Eternal? Why yes it is! Sparkplay Media's Earth Eternal has made it to the top of the free games listing... except for the fact that EE is still in closed beta.

Fileplanet's link, while enticing, will not get you instant access into the closed beta. What it will do, however, is sign you up for an account that will let you be eligible to be selected for the closed beta. It will not let you play the game immediately, but it will certainly net you a chance at playing sooner rather than later.

According to Sparkplay Media, Fileplanet will be involved with getting the game and the word out there, but it seems they've jumped the gun in releasing their link for the game. It's cool, we all make mistakes.

As to what special in-game items Fileplanet members will be receiving for signing up and playing, well, that's still a secret to everybody.

Yes, that's right, the apocalypse opens up its doors to all on August 17th. If you're really eager for the apocalypse, however, then we suggest you hurry on over to Fileplanet and sign up for an account, as they're going to be the ones handing out access to Fallen Earth. Fileplanet will be making the Fallen Earth beta accessible for download on Friday, August 14th, for all of you who want to get that download rolling early.

If you're really excited for Fallen Earth's launch on September 9th, then you can also hop over to Direct2Drive and grab yourself a pre-order of the game. Pre-orders not only get guaranteed access to the beta, but they also get the exclusive in-game mount, the Wasteland Runner. The special mount has four more points of defensive skills, 2500 extra stamina, and six more pack slots over other horses.

Even more importantly, pre-order customers will be getting a five day head start in the game. Yes, that's right, five days! This means the pre-order customers will be jumping into the game on September 4th, while everyone else will get to experience the Grand Canyon on the 9th.

Yes, we know, that title sounded like a complete oxymoron. How can a closed beta be open to everybody? It just doesn't make any sense!

We understand your confusion, but it's best not to question it. Fileplanet is giving out Huxley: The Dystopia closed beta keys to all account holders now, not just their subscribers. A couple quick button presses is now all it takes to find yourself braving the lunar apocalypse with all of your friends!

A small note of instruction: if you get your beta key from Fileplanet, you will have to still make an ijji.com account for the closed beta test. You can do that right over at the Huxley closed beta page without much fuss at all. Now go forth and kick those Sapiens all the way back to the early days of evolution.

Update: As so many commenters have pointed out, this offer is only available for the US and Canada. European gamers, it appears, are locked out of this promotion being offered by Fileplanet.

The e-mail announcements have gone out and clients are being downloaded as Huxley fans prepare for closed beta test phase two! The servers will be opening up tomorrow for CBT1 veterans and CBT2 recruits alike, starting at 2:00 PM Pacific time and staying open until 10:00 PM Pacific. (For us Eastern time people, that's between 5:00 PM and 1:00 AM.)

Closed beta test participants have already received e-mails informing them of their acceptance to the new phase of beta. Former participants should delete their old Huxley clients and download the new, larger client from the closed beta test main page.

Weren't accepted or didn't sign up? Well, bad news first, the closed beta registration is over. However, for those of you who are FilePlanet subscribers, you can run over there and still pick up a key if you weren't in CBT1.

Closed beta phase two will be running until Wednesday, August 12th, and 10:00 PM Pacific time.

It's going to be another weekend of angels flying around the world, except this weekend you're going to get to choose which side you want to support! Yes, that's right, it's the third weekend for the Aion beta test.

This weekend's testing focus will be on both the Elyos and Asmodian sides and testers will be able to progress all the way up to level 20. No more getting capped at 10 just after you grab your wings! The test's doors open tomorrow, July 2nd, at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET.

If you haven't gotten your key for the beta yet, run on over to Fileplanet and grab one! The Fallen Earth stress test that is being run through Fileplanet (which we reported on a few days ago) has had the "subscriber-only" restriction lifted. Because of this, those that were on the fence about paying for the beta will now only need to register for a regular Fileplanet account to get into the game -- a much easier decision to make, we're sure you'll all agree.

If you do want to give the Fallen Earth stress test a go at the new bargain price of 'free', sooner is better than later, as there is a limited amount of promotional keys to be given away (you can get them here). A stress test for Fallen Earth will begin on Tuesday the 23rd of June, giving the masses a chance to get into the game -- that is, if they're Fileplanet subscribers. Participation is only available to Fileplanet subscribers and subscribing does cost money, so it's not exactly an "open" test, but it should let a lot more people into the game than the closed beta before it.

The game client can be pre-loaded ahead of the stress test launch, and computer specification info has been provided so that you can make sure that your rig is up to scratch:

Minimum Specifications:
CPU: Intel P4 2.8 GHz or equivalent
RAM: 1 GB for XP, 2 GB for Vista
Video Card*: nVidia GeForce 6600/ATI Radeon X1300

Mythic just announced free 10-day trials for Warhammer Online through FilePlanet, which is available to Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, and U.S. residents only. Up until now, the only way to try WAR for free was if you received an invitation from Mythic's Recruit-a-Friend program. For a limited time, anyone to takes the free trial through FilePlanet will also receive $5.00 off the full purchase on Direct2Drive.

You can download the trial here. The trial will expire 10 days after you activate your account, even if you don't log in. Trial accounts are restricted to tier one and capital city zones. You may purchase items from the auction house and receive in-game mail but you can not sell items on the AH or send in-game mail (to prevent spam/bot accounts). Trial characters can only be created on designated servers. Check the official free trial FAQ for more details.

It is unknown when or if the 10-day trial offer will expire. The ideal time try WAR for the first time is probably in early March once they implement the 1.2 patch. Patch 1.2 will feature the Bitter Rivals live event (many interesting tasks, a new scenario, and will usher in the Choppa and Slayer careers), fix hundreds upon hundreds of bugs, and aim to balance almost all the game's careers.

Recently, it seems game developers have been experimenting with different ways to deliver the initial game download to players. Age of Conan is now on Steam, Lord of the Rings Online has looked to torrents, Warhammer Online is making FilePlanet richer while others are sticking with the age-old company-specific download clients.

These are all still being tested, especially as MMOs are moving into the double-digit gigabyte file sizes, but do you think these are the best solutions? Sitting in a download queue for a day or more just to begin the 10 gigabyte file download is a bit ridiculous, but companies like FilePlanet are banking on our impatience. So is working through a third-party download site who requires a separate subscription really the best choice for us? If not, who do you think is doing it right? Or better yet, how can it be done right?

Mythic Entertainment just opened the virtual gates for the Warhammer Online open beta test. After fans spent half the morning expressing their impatience and Rickrolling one another on the game's various forums, the log in program/patcher suddenly stopped telling everyone they didn't belong and said, "Come on in and play!" Well, for most people anyway. It turns out that some folks still can't log in, but be patient; your time will surely come.

We're sure you can expect massive lag and overcrowding if you try to play today (or probably at any point in the open beta, really) but if you're willing to weather such tribulations, then by all means, grab your own Warhamma' and log the hell in!

If the lag proves too much for you today, or if the servers just explode, feel free to continue reading our extensive coverage. Otherwise, we'll slay you, err, see you there!

Avast, mateys! Atlantica Online, the turn-based strategy MMO, has announced that its closed beta test begins on Friday the 18th, with registered FilePlanet users getting the goods three days earlier, on the 15th. Additionally, MMO sites MMOABC, MMOSITE, MMORPG and onRPG are giving away a limited number of account keys on a first-come, first-served basis.

Some are in the closed beta, many many others are in the open beta. We thought we'd ask you this morning how your first weekend of the open Age of Conan beta went? With our team, the experiences ran the gamut. For some, there were only one or two minor things we noticed and the rest was smooth as silk. Others of the team had horrendous crashes of the client all weekend long, and at least a couple of folks weren't able to get in at all, hitting the authentication errors that some have noted on the forums. (They're waiting on mail replies from support too, so you're not alone out there.)

So how was your experience with the Age of Conan beta this weekend? Did you find anything that caused massive problems? How about things that were really done well? Did it make you decide to order -- or cancel your pre-order? Do you just not care? We've told you what some of the team here thinks; now we want to hear from you!

What is best in life? If you listen to most of the people who would pop by Massively on a Sunday, that would involve playing MMOGs! This weekend is no exception for most of the staff here. Many of us find ourselves in the Age of Conan beta, which is where today's One Shots was taken. This screen is of the blockaded town of Tortage, crushed cruelly under the fist of Strom. We won't give away any spoilers for those of you who are looking forward to this game, but this blogger can say that it is running surprisingly well on her machine, despite it being in beta.

The title says it all. The Age of Conan FilePlanet beta has been pushed back until 4 PM EST (20.00 GMT) for a few more spit shines and polishes before it throws itself into your loving arms.

The reason for the delay stems from the developers wishing to get in that one last hotfix onto closed servers before opening them up to the public. So, if you haven't logged onto Conan yet, we recommend you do so to get your client up to date. Only the game servers are down, the patching servers are not.

If you completely haven't attempted to log in yet, you will be presented with a 300 mb patch, so if you're a rabid Conan fan and want to get into the beta the second the servers go live, it's recommended you try to start the client now to get yourself ready. Especially if you want to hit that level cap for the FilePlanet power levelling contest.

In the mean time, why not go watch some television or something? You know, Law and Order is on at 2:00 PM EST on TNT. That should get your blood thirst up while you're waiting for 4:00 PM EST.

A lot of Age of Conan fans have felt slighted over the recent Fileplanet "Open Beta" happening on May 1st. The reason? You have to be a Fileplanet subscriber to have access to the beta, which means you have to pony up some cash. We feel it's important for Funcom to explain the reasoning behind the Fileplanet beta and apparently, so does Jørgen Tharaldsen, Funcom's product director.

Jørgen begins his explanation by citing the fact that up until this point, nobody has been charged in any way for beta access. It's true, in fact thousands of players have participated in the Age of Conan beta without paying a cent. The reason being that these players are supposed to be helping Funcom out with testing and not only playing the game for their enjoyment.

Hey, remember when we posted that the Age of Conan closed beta was arriving on the first of May? Yeah, good times. Bet you thought nothing could beat that bit of news, huh? Hold onto your claymore, kids -- mmolecule is giving away 500 closed beta keys too, but these keys will be free of the level 13 cap that the FilePlanet keys will have.

We're not sure exactly what that means in terms of the discrepancy. The keys are all coming from the same place, presumably: Funcom. So why hobble the FilePlanet players? Of course, it might just be a way to keep track of which players get to test higher-level content, but one would think that that honor would go to those with a paid FP account, as opposed to the free account holders at mmolecule.

Regardless, the mmolecule contest is live right now for members only; if you're not already a member, sign up immediately and follow the instructions on the site for your chance to win!

This is it! Funcom, in partnership with Eidos and IGN have announced the Age of Conan open beta, available at FilePlanet.com and other IGN partner sites. Now, being available on FilePlanet means it's more of an 'exclusively open beta' -- you will have to be a member to receive the download.

Additionally, from the press release: 'Funcom would like to point out that the primary function of the Open Beta is to stress test Age of Conan prior to launch. This means that Funcom will not make the entire game available to the Open Beta testers, and a level 13 cap will be applied.' So no matter how quickly you progress through the content, you're not going to be able to see any of the higher-level stuff; this might mean no siege warfare, or city building, or ridable mounts. But you've waited this long for decapitation-related joy, and here it is!

Dreamlord's highly anticipated sequel The Reawakening has now entered the closed beta stage. What does this mean for us? It means the game is closer to release, of course! Initially the beta test will be open exclusively to the registered users of FilePlanet, but will be made public later next week.

If you're not familiar with Dreamlords: The Reawakening, you may be pleasantly surprised by a few of it's features. The game will not only be free to play, but will also offer upgrades, items and gear that will boost your Dreamlord (for money). The best feature of all? There will be a simplified rule system! Yay! It just wouldn't be a current MMO if it didn't have simplified rules. Sigh.

Okay, the only thing that got me through Wednesday, a day fraught with meetings, numberless revisions, and a never-ending cold, was the thought that I'd be playing the Mabinogi open beta that night. So I visited the homepage, only to be told that the client was exclusively available to FilePlanet users. Fine, I'm a FP user, I'll get it there. Once there, I clicked the download link, only to be told 'Sorry, this program is for North American users only!'

Now, I've been accused in the past of not living in reality, and that's an argument with some merit to it. But my corpus has always inhabited North America; indeed, I live in San Francisco, which, unless FP knows something about a new secession that I'm unaware of, is located in California, which is one of the United States. Where does FP think I live?

Running it down reveals that FP's IP Blocker seems to think that while my home computer resides somewhere outside of North America, trying access from my work computer works fine. Just in case, however, I'll be downloading the client directly from Nexon. One night of downloadus frustrationis is quite enough.

Despite what we were told at GDC and mentioned in our previous coverage, Requiem: Bloodymare isn't entering closed beta in a month's time -- it does so at the end of this week! I don't mind a little chicanery from time to time, especially if the payoff is an earlier-than-expected gift. Regardless, to play this title you'll need to obtain an access code, which you'll be able to get in the following ways:

Registered users of FilePlanet have access to a limited number of beta codes as of Tuesday, and what's more, these users can access the closed beta immediately, days ahead of schedule. The day of closed beta launch, both MMORPG.com and MMOSITE.com will have codes available. Wednesday, March 26th at 10 AM PST marks the end of the closed beta. FilePlanet users, time to see if there's anything left.

Fileplanet's Free MMO Club has exclusive beta access to the Mabinogi English (semi?) closed beta for Fileplanet users. North America only at the moment, however.

If you want to be a part of the latest cute free-to-play MMO effort from Nexon, get over there and get started. If you're not sure what you're getting into with Mabinogi, check out the trailer here. If, like me, you're not in North America I'd recommend stamping your feet and pouting. It may not help all that much, but it's more satisfying than you might think.

Update 1: Reader Errantdreams pointed out that the open beta was available for closed beta testers and paying Founders Club members of Fileplanet since December 3rd.
Update 2: Some digging on the forums has led to the discovery that you can get your free beta key right now from Eurogamer.net. Hurry over to get yours!

Last week Flying Lab Software lifted the NDA on Pirates of the Burning Sea, and dished out some open beta details. As of the 7th of December, the open beta for PotBS has been available for Fileplanet subscribers.

We also learned that the open beta proper is supposed to begin four days after the short Fileplanet-exclusive access period. This should mean that everyone else will be able to sail the Burning Seas on December the 11th, or very soon now. In a matter of hours you may be beginning your nautical adventure. The thing is, the original news story from the PotBS site also states that the full open beta will begin "within a week" of the Fileplanet stage -- so hopefully the more specific "four days" is the one they stick to.

If you are in fact a Fileplanet subscriber then you could already have been playing, and you can visit Fileplanet's PotBS beta page to salvage what is left of your headstart. If not, the PotBS homepage is probably where you want to be, crossing your fingers and hoping that you'll be joining the other scurvy dogs soon.

If you signed up at FilePlanet for the Pirates of the Burning Sea stress test, you might be pleased to hear that Flying Lab Software has given all stress tester accounts access to the closed beta now that the stress test is drawing to a close.

The Flying Lab Software team had already announced that they would be inviting anyone who reached level 5 by the end of the stress test into the closed beta, but since almost everyone met that goal, they apparently decided it'd just be easier to bring every single stress test account in. If you didn't sign up for the stress test, you're out of luck, but hey, at least you can read our PotBS crafting hands-on!

As for the rest of you; go on ye no-good pirate scoundrels! Set sail on the burning sea in search of gold to loot, grog to drink, and bugs to report!

We've got exciting news from the the high seas (otherwise known as our favorite upcoming pirate-themed game, Pirates of the Burning Sea).
