<p>It doesn't end there, however. Worlds.com CEO <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/worldscom-ceo-were-absolutely-going-to-sue-second-life-and-world-of-warcraft-2009-3">Thom Kidrin has told Eric Krangel at Business Insider</a> that if the suit against NCsoft succeeds, industry leaders <em><a target="_blank" href="http://worldofwarcraft.com/">World of Warcraft</a></em> and <a href="http://secondlife.com/"><em>Second Life</em></a> are next. The company's legal representatives in this action, General Patent Corporation also yesterday announced that Worlds.com has been granted a third patent that extends the reach of their existing two.</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/03/12/world-of-warcraft-and-second-life-are-next-says-worlds-com-ceo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>World of Warcraft and Second Life are next, says Worlds.com CEO</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/03/12/world-of-warcraft-and-second-life-are-next-says-worlds-com-ceo/">World of Warcraft and Second Life are next, says Worlds.com CEO</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 12 Mar 2009 10:00:00 EST. <p>Reuters did not replace it's last dedicated reporter (Eric Krangel) when <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/30/reuters-reporter-to-withdraw-from-second-life/">he departed for Silicon Alley Insider back in October</a>. In December, there was more fuss when Linden Lab charged the island fees to a credit card that it had twice <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/30/reuters-reporter-to-withdraw-from-second-life/">promised that it had expunged from its billing system</a>.</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/03/02/reuters-late-to-announce-second-life-bureau-closure/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Reuters late to announce Second Life bureau closure</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/03/02/reuters-late-to-announce-second-life-bureau-closure/">Reuters late to announce Second Life bureau closure</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 02 Mar 2009 21:00:00 EST. <p>Unlike <em><a href="http://secondlife.com/">Second Life's</a></em> 2003 Tax Revolt, which (at the time) went unnoticed by the mainstream media, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/28/the-spirit-of-1776-second-lifes-second-revolution/">the current revolt over void/openspace simulator server pricing</a> is drawing attention in places where a lot of potential customers are being exposed to it -- and it's early yet. More words are doubtless being drafted over the weekend to run on mainstream Web-sites and newspapers. </p>
<p>By mainstream (a word that has an awfully slippery definition), we mean widespread. There are at least three other effective and correct definitions of the word at least one of which conflicts with that, but let's just go with what we have and leave those other definitions for another time. You know what we mean.</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/02/the-revolution-in-the-news/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The revolution in the news</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/02/the-revolution-in-the-news/">The revolution in the news</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sun, 02 Nov 2008 10:00:00 EST. <p>Krangel will be taking up a writing position with <a href="http://www.alleyinsider.com/">Silicon Alley Insider</a>, ending his long stint that saw him replace Adam Pasick (aka Adam Reuters) as the front-man for <em>Thomson Reuters</em> in Linden Lab's virtual environment.</p>
<p>In many ways it seems like the end of an era.</p>

Easter Monday saw an announcement by Linden Lab that they were introducing a new <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/second-life"><em>Second Life</em></a> logo program, and changing the terms under which various words and images are presented.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, we technically can't show you the new logo, since by all rights we have to go through the application process first. Actually, after reading all the terms and conditions a bunch of times, we are not sure that we're even allowed to mention its name. It's <strong>inSL</strong>, anyway. We'll let the company lawyers sort through the paperwork.</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/03/25/linden-lab-asserts-control-of-names-and-images/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Linden Lab asserts control of names and images</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/03/25/linden-lab-asserts-control-of-names-and-images/">Linden Lab asserts control of names and images</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 25 Mar 2008 12:15:00 EST.
