If you play <a href="http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com"><em>Final Fantasy XIV</em></a>, you probably already know about Eorzeapedia. If you play <a href="http://www.playonline.com"><em>Final Fantasy XI</em></a>, you probably know about Eorzeapedia via the normal osmosis of concepts, since much of the community organization spreads from older roots. On the off chance you aren't familiar with it, however, it's a site that melds several parts of the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantasy-XI/">Final Fantasy XI</a></em> community together into a single location, built from the ground up to serve as a community and player hub for the game. And not just in terms of data. No, it has a <em>radio</em>.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.eorzeapedia.com/radio/">Aertheryte Radio</a> is a labor of love, a network of several podcasts with the hope of giving you some piping hot <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantasy-XIV/">Final Fantasy XIV</a></em> news and opinions straight into your ear. (Let's ignore how painful that analogy sounds.) So for today's look at the community, I got the opportunity to ask some questions of the talent behind the shows. Instead of looking at the community as an aggregate, I spoke to some very vocal and dedicated members of the community, and it's worth shedding a light on all of the work they produce.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/11/27/the-mog-log-radio-free-aetheryte-part-one/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Mog Log: Radio free aetheryte, part one</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/11/27/the-mog-log-radio-free-aetheryte-part-one/">The Mog Log: Radio free aetheryte, part one</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 27 Nov 2010 16:00:00 EST. Ah, rumors. We know the game was just announced, but there are three major reasons this rumor carries some weight. For one, <em><a href="http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/">Final Fantasy XIV</a></em> has a 2010 release date, which makes sense considering the development team claims to have been working on the game for nearly five years now. Also, the dev team has expressed that they'd like to have a longer beta than the one <em><a href="http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml">Final Fantasy XI</a></em> had -- one which was only around four months long.<br /><br />The biggest piece of information regarding this rumor is its source -- discovered by <a href="http://www.eorzeapedia.com/2009/06/11/speculation-beta-as-early-as-september/">newly built fansite Eorzeapedia</a> -- of several <a href="http://www.square-enix.com/eu/en/jobs/">Square Enix Europe job listings</a> for new game testers and game masters. The listing is very clear that any applicants are required to have "good knowledge" of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantsy-XI/">Final Fantsy XI</a></em>, which ostensibly already has these jobs filled. If new people are being hired, it means the more seasoned team are being shifted to the developer's other MMO, namely <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantasy-XIV/">Final Fantasy XIV</a></em>. According to those listings, the new game masters begin work in early September.<br /><br />Loose reasoning? Maybe just a little, but when considering the release date, development time and this new information it all seems to make sense. We'd <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/06/21/the-daily-grind-will-you-play-a-friendlier-final-fantasy-mmo/">love to get our hands on</a> some <em>FFXIV</em> beta action any time this year, especially as early as September, so here's hoping it's true!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/06/22/rumor-ffxiv-beta-may-begin-by-september/">Rumor: FFXIV beta may begin by September</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 22 Jun 2009 09:00:00 EST.
