We're kicking off unusual foe week here on One Shots with a Guild Wars baddie courtesy of Zara:
The god Abaddon is the final boss in Guild Wars Nightfall, but players who pause before engaging him can find an Easter egg. If all the human players in the party stop on the bridge and do the /dance emote, he'll dance with you for a few minutes. Here you can see his giant head and hands rocking out.

Next he'll kill everyone in your party and your screen will flash the message "You got served," but at least you had some fun before you died.
We've started this week's theme with a bang, and now it's your turn! For me, it's all about the little things in life: the smell of a good cup of coffee, the enthusiastic hug of my two-year-old, an illicit pack of Lemonheads candy, or throwing punny tags into Massively articles. While big things are essential to have and get right, it's the little things I find that give life its unique flavor.

So when I enter MMORPGs, I'm always on the lookout for little things. Oh, sure, PvP and raiding and overarching epic stories are all well and good, but it's from the little things that the soul and flavor of a game emerges. I'm often far more delighted when I stumble upon a funny little Easter egg in a game than if I win that roll for a purple piece of armor.

Today I want to look at 10 little things in RIFT that I've come to appreciate and savor over the past month or so. Maybe these elements don't get all of the glory, and maybe they're even seen as superfluous to some, but without them the game would be far less to me. So while we rush between rifts and struggle with expert dungeons, I'd encourage all of us to take some time to reflect on all of the supporting cast of features that are just as important to the overall effort.

If Easter has taught us anything, it's that chicken eggs are an odd but reliable source of candy. This is generally not good press for chickens, as they already suffer from being tasty and associated with cowardice. Nexon's Mabinogi hopes that your Easter egg hunting skills are strong and sharp, as they invite players to participate in an egg hunt to end all egg hunts.

It turns out that these aren't ordinary eggs, either. Laid by the fabled hens of Erinn, their eggs occasionally come out (why not) fossilized. It's these fresh-yet-ancient eggs that demand attention, as players will extract their stony yolk in search of an iconic Easter Egg Capsule. These capsules contain (why not) candy, which, when eaten, bestows the adventurous eater with various stat bonuses and unanswered questions as to which came first: the chicken or the petrified egg.

We've had many readers send in easter eggs from their favorite games, but this is quite possibly one of the strangest ones we've seen to date, courtesy of The Don of the dead (@Muroshi) from Champions Online. Of course, we're not entirely certain what the inspiration behind this could be, really. If you haven't quite figured out what that thing is in the image above, be sure to click to the gallery and look at it full size -- or you could just read the note we got with this strange Champions Online shot: The Don of the dead found this toilet on one of the smokestacks in Millennium City Westside. Guess now we know where all that brown smog comes from.

While many living up north enjoyed their white Christmas, many others are ready for all the snow to go away already. In the Lord of the Rings Online, it would appear that this Dwarf is either well into his holiday cups, or just feels like attacking snowmen to take his frustration out against the winter. This fun little snowman was found by Florin E., who writes in to tell us about it: I just saw the easter egg "little castle of sand" and I am really excited. I'm going to find it by myself, I love this. I do not know if you have already published this easter egg. Long time ago I was farming ore near Thorin's Gate and I found this snowman. Note: you can [also] see a little snowman in the Matthom house in the Shire.

If you're crazy enough to fly through 0.0 space in EVE Online, you'd better be prepared for the trouble that awaits you. Landing in a bubble, getting jammed, blown to heck, with only your frozen corpse floating in space... well, that's just how the game is. With that said, there are those other, unheralded dangers that so many who haven't spent time in EVE Online don't know about. Take, for example, today's One Shots sent in to us by Piero D. He writes in to explain: Deep in the depths of 0.0 Deadspace there is a warning sign that reads: "This is a sign, it has very sharp edges"! I knew deadspace is dangerous, but hey! Kids may get hurt while they drift along the vacuum.

We love easter eggs and other strange little things from various video games. Today's One Shots showing one off from EVE Online is pretty fun - and thankfully more OK with the GMs than some of the can art we've had sent in to us. This particular shot was sent in to us by Nicholas J, who also sent the following note: [Here's] a little easter egg that you can occasionally find in a few places. Of course, if you want to see the obvious statement, you'll have to click on through to the full-size image to see it; it just doesn't work when the image is small.

Space is a funny thing - you never really know what you'll run across when flying around out there. Sure, you might spot wreckage (especially in EVE Online) or old technology left scattered about, but this is perhaps one of the first true easter eggs we've had sent in to us. It comes to us from Deng Ful, who found this strange black monolith while flying a mission in Ashi. My Gallente drone-mistress, Deng Ful, came across this relic from another science-fiction universe deep in a mission pocket the other day. The only information given on it, appropriately enough, is "It's full of stars".

The easter eggs are myriad in Warhammer Online, as we've seen from several screenshots sent in to us by various players. There are portals, places that reference other games, and more. Today's One Shots, sent in to us by one of our regular Warhammer Online contributor Snacky, shows off another such find. Here's Snacky with the details: In my search for further easter eggs, I have found numerous "secret plungers" located in difficult to access locations. This one is located near the Dwarf capital. I will leave what happens once you click it to future adventurers. We haven't run across this one as yet, so we've no idea what happens when you hit this one. Hmm.

Are you the type of person who needs a new pet every once in a while? Sometimes, do you feel like there just aren't enough loyal followers to your name? Well if you're a World of Warcraft player, look no further than Zul'Aman, because for the price of a quick trip and an innocent blown kiss you can have your very own pet frog!

The place in question is just in front of Zul'Aman -- don't worry about going inside. Specifically, to the lower right side of front gate, there should be a troll named Prigmon. He normally shows no interest in talking to anybody -- simply resigning himself to his work. However, if you see fit to blow the lonely troll a kiss, he'll respond with, "Feeling' a little froggy, are ya?" and will proceed to gift to you a non-combat pet named Mojo. Of course, he happens to be a frog and quite a poorly textured one at that.

We're curious to see if this is something that Blizzard purposely left for players to find or simply some kind of glitch. Or, maybe it's there simply unknown by most people within the developer except for some sly sneaky programmer.

[UPDATED] Edited to note that if you /kiss Mojo, he will turn you into a frog and then fall in love with you. He also whispers random things to you such as "Your lily pad or mine?"

[UPDATED x2] This was apparently a bug. Prigmon has been hotfixed, and no longer gives you a Mojo of your very own.

Today we've captured a little Easter egg in Tabula Rasa just for you. There are numerous computers throughout the game and most of them are usable -- which means you can see interesting little messages on them. Some are bits of story or lore, others simply give the world and environment a bit more depth than it would have had otherwise. This one, however, is a blast from the past! Using a particular computer in the Cormon base in Raja Gorge fires up Akalabeth, Richard Garriott's first game, published in 1980. (Though how the NCsoft crew managed to misspell Akalabeth with the original game disks hanging in their lobby I'm not sure...!)
