Most of us are armchair developers in one respect or another, and a lot of what occurs in the comments section of an MMO blog relates to decisions devs have made on our favorite (or least favorite) games.<br />
<br />
Certain devs have also attained celebrity status, and of course, companies like <a href="http://blizzard.com">Blizzard</a>, <a href="http://bioware.com">BioWare</a>, and <a href="http://sony.com">Sony</a> are household names outside of MMO circles. It's also fun to speculate on what might result from the addition of dev A to team B or the merging of company C with publisher D. For today's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/the-daily-grind">Daily Grind</a>, imagine you had an unlimited budget, as well as every MMO dev in the industry knocking on your door and offering to make the game you've always wanted to play.<br />
<br />
Who's on your dev dream team, and what kind of game would they make?<br />

Almost every big MMO these days is a marriage between an established intellectual property -- such as <a href="http://www.lotro.com"><em>The Lord of the Rings</em></a>, or <a href="http://www.ageofconan.com"><em>Conan</em></a> -- and a proven development studio like <a href="http://www.mythicentertainment.com/">Mythic</a> or <a href="http://crypticstudios.com/">Cryptic.</a> It seems like every setting is getting MMO-ized, from <a href="http://www.startrekonline.com/"><em>Star Trek</em></a> to <a href="http://www.myspace.com/dcuo">the DC Comics universe.</a> But there are lots of worlds left to explore.<br /><br />That's why we're asking you today what world you want to explore, and who you want to make it. In other words, which franchise and which developer would you like to see come together?<a href="http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/"><em>Battlestar Galactica</em></a> and <a href="http://www.funcom.com">Funcom</a>? <a href="http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/index?pn=index"><em>Lost</em></a> and <a href="http://www.soe.com/">SOE?</a> No idea is too crazy. After all, it's likely none of them will become reality anyway!<br /><br />Please keep in mind that <a href="http://www.hellokittyonline.com/"><em>Hello Kitty Online</em></a> has already been done! Sorry to steal your thunder, folks!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/31/the-daily-grind-name-your-mmo-dream-team/">The Daily Grind: Name your MMO dream team</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 31 Jul 2008 08:00:00 EST.
