Bored and not sure what to do? Well, if you're anything like Soulbreeze from the Pink Cupcake Brigade guild on Lightninghoof in World of Warcraft, you could always use that hard-earned knowledge of tradeskills to royally screw with the opposite faction. There again, you could mess with your own just for the fun of it! Today's One Shots shows off one such prank recently perpetrated by Soulbreeze, who writes in to explain the scene: "I have found the ultimate cure for in-game boredom in World of Warcraft: smoke flares! Usually I'll hassle the opposite faction's side of Dalaran with curtains of smoke flares, but this display is set up on the horde side. It requires engineering to make flares, but anyone can use them!" If you see these start popping up all over the place on your server, you'll know who started it!

Hey, if you've got to spend time hanging out in Dalaran in World of Warcraft, you might as well have fun with it, we think. Today's One Shots comes to us from Pascalin of the Steamwheedle Cartel (EU) server, who decided to risk getting unceremoniously tossed off his mount by Dalaran security to snap today's lovely shot. He writes in: Dalaran, city of a thousand magical splendors - and an annoying no-flying zone. Still my mage had a go, despite breaking the rules.

In World of Warcraft, you'd think you'd seen most of what the game had to offer, then you run across someone getting creative with balancing things. Take, for example, today's rather silly One Shots of a dried-up waterfall in Stormwind courtesy of Cotys from Nordrassil (EU). Someone obviously thought that maybe adding some water might help get things going again. So, presto-chango, one scrying bowl later, and... Well, okay; there's still no water flowing in the fountain - but it was a nice thought! Cotys explains this choice of screenshot: The Statue/Waterfall of Stormwind with a scrying bowl on his head. Just thought it was funny, and unusual to see. Hope you enjoy!

One of the hot new mounts for World of Warcraft players that came with Wrath of the Lich King is a truly enormous mammoth mount. In the first days of the game's release it was rare to see anyone on one, but as time goes by (and people earn more and more gold) they're becoming slightly more common. The problem is that if you have enough people rumbling around on one of these mounts, well, it's mammoth as far as the eye can see! Today's One Shots comes to us from Bruno D. (we'd assume he's the troll in the middle) who writes in: This is an interesting screenshot I took on the EU server of Twylight's Hammer. Dalaran was invaded by two huge mammoths. Everyone was running for their lives. Well, not really. They were all crowding to take screenshots.

In the vast wildnerness of World of Warcraft's Northrend, one can find the surprisingly beautiful city of Dalaran. We say "surprisingly" because Dalaran used to be covered in an enormous purple magical bubble, and the nearby buildings outside certainly weren't anything to look at. In this lovely area, for those who just love to fish, there's an spot under the city called the Underbelly. While roaming around there you can find Underbelly Elixir, which will mutate you into one of several things. We're not going to entirely spoil the surprise here, but One Shots reader Kilawhar sent this in to show off what can happen when drinking an elixir while fishing -- you become a giant firefly with a fishing pole!

World of Warcraft was first announced in 2001, and almost from the get-go players were hotly debating which components of the gameworld of Azeroth would make it into the MMO. Blizzard launched their blockbuster MMO with a very focused experience, and managed to set a new bar for online gaming quality with their 2007 Burning Crusade expansion.

Now the company is set to once again expand the horizons of their gameworld, and in doing so reconnect the Warcraft RTS titles with their MMO. Wrath of the Lich King will reintroduce old characters, allow players to explore acres and acres of new environments, and remake the face of Azeroth as we know it.
