If you're an <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online">EVE</a></em> player, you've probably heard of David "<a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/">CrazyKinux</a>" Perry at some point. Affectionately known as CK for short, CrazyKinux has been instrumental in the development and growth of <em>EVE Online</em>'s dedicated blogging and podcasting community. He helped either create or promote the largest parts of that community's online presence, from the <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/00sage00/tweetfleet">Tweet Fleet</a> to the EVE Blog Pack to <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2009/05/eve-blog-banters.html">EVE Blog Banter</a> to <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2010/07/state-of-pod-eve-online-podcast-listing.html">several podcast hosting duties</a> and more.<br />
<br />
But sadly, CK has recently announced his retirement from his blog and presence in the <em>EVE</em> community. According to his final blog post, CK has been hired as the director of development for indie game studio <a href="http://bhvr.com/">Behaviour Interactive</a>. He says he now will have the time to "play the darn game and read your blogs!" If you're interested in following post-blog CK, his new Twitter is <a href="http://www.twitter.com/socialdave">@SocialDave</a>. Best of luck, CK!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/08/16/crazykinux-ends-his-eve-blog-pack/">CrazyKinux ends his EVE Blog Pack</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 16 Aug 2011 12:30:00 EST. In last week's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-evolved/">EVE Evolved</a>, I looked at a few of <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a>'s most famous outlaws. In the game's open-ended sandbox, players are free to turn to a life of crime. Around every corner, you'll find another thief making off with someone's loot, or a pirate waiting for an unsuspecting victim to pass by. Worse still are the many scam artists and market manipulators you'll find in trade hubs like Jita, making a dishonest living at the expense of other players. But it's not all doom and gloom, and not all players are <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/08/08/eve-evolved-outlaws-of-eve/">the dark, nefarious types</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online/"><em>EVE</em></a> is famous for.<br />
<br />
For every low-life scammer trying to steal your hard-earned ISK, there are helpful individuals working to counteract scamming. For every war-mongering pirate preying on new players, there are hundreds of people willing to teach new players to defend themselves and stay safe. Despite all the talk of <em>EVE</em>'s anti-social element, you'll also find a rich and diverse community, built around forums, chat channels and dozens of blogs. Programmers even spend their free time to provide the community with free tools to aid play. These are all people I would call heroes of <em>EVE</em>, either because they work to prevent the wrong-doings of outlaws, or because they selflessly enrich the <em>EVE</em> community.<br />
<br />
In this opinion piece, I look at a few of the people and groups I consider to be true heroes of <em>EVE</em>. Who are your heroes?<strong><br />

In co-operation with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games/"><em>CCP Games</em></a>, our friends at <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2010/04/eve-blog-banter-special-edition-ladies.html">CrazyKinux's Musing are running an interesting contest</a>. In the latest edition of CrazyKinux's monthly <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/eve-blog-banter/">EVE Blog Banter</a>, he's asking players to write blog posts on ideas to make <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> more appealing to female gamers. The best ideas will win <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online/"><em>EVE</em></a> store credit, with a total of $200 up for grabs. First place will receive $75 worth of store credit to spend on <em>EVE</em> merchandise and second place wins $50 of credit. The next three runner-up entries will win $25 of credit each, giving everyone a total of five chances to win. Entrants have until Monday April 26th to make their thoughts on the issue known.<br />
<br />
<em>EVE Online</em> is something of an oddity in the MMO scene, with an almost entirely male playerbase. While some MMOs <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7796482.stm">have a roughly 40% female playerbase</a> and others <a href="http://www.nickyee.com/daedalus/archives/001369.php">are closer to 16%</a>, less than 5% of <em>EVE Online</em> players are female. With Incarna set to introduce more avenues for social gaming, now might be a good time to start finding out what barriers prevent girls from signing up to <em>EVE</em>. Whatever the reason for <em>EVE</em>'s 95% male-dominated playerbase, CCP seem interested in balancing that figure by drawing in more female gamers. If you have an idea that you think would help, <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2010/04/eve-blog-banter-special-edition-ladies.html">enter it in the EVE Blog Banter</a> for a chance to win some <em>EVE</em> swag.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/eve-online-contest-asks-how-ccp-could-make-the-game-more-appeali/">EVE Online contest asks how CCP could make the game more appealing to female gamers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 23 Apr 2010 09:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> player Xiphos83 has teamed up with our friends over at Crazykinux's Musing <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2010/03/eve-online-wallpaper-competition.html">to make an <em>EVE</em> competition that's definitely worth entering</a>. Always on the look-out for a new desktop background, for this competition he wants to see your best attempt at a visually stunning <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online/"><em>EVE</em></a> wallpaper. With all the graphical upgrades <em>EVE</em> has received over the years, it's always kept its spot as one of the most visually stunning MMOs out there. It lends itself spectacularly to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/25/eve-evolved-postcards-from-eve-wish-you-were-here/">taking awesome screenshots</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/02/13/eve-video-corner-clarion-call-2-pantheon/">making dramatic videos</a>. Entries must be at a minimum resolution of 1280 x 1024 and should fit into either an "Action" or "Scenic" theme. Anything from well-posed snaps of your favourite <em>EVE</em> planet to full-on PvP shots are in with a chance to win. <br />
<br />
Entry costs 10 million ISK and the winners will split the entire pot between them, with an additional 175 million ISK contributed by donors. Judging by the number of comments the competition has received so far, there could be a lot of ISK in that prize pot up for grabs. To enter, simply email your screenshot to crazykinux [AT] gmail [DOT] com along with your <em>EVE</em> character's name and wire your entry fee to character "CrazyKinux" in-game. Entries must be in by March 26th and to be in with a chance to win, make sure you read <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2010/03/eve-online-wallpaper-competition.html">the contest rules</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/03/15/fan-run-eve-competition-offers-prizes-for-best-wallpaper/">Fan-run EVE competition offers prizes for best wallpaper</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 15 Mar 2010 12:00:00 EST. If ever there was a person that could be called the cornerstone of <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a>'s blogging community, <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com">it would be CrazyKinux</a>. His gargantuan efforts to get the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online/"><em>EVE</em></a> community blogging have been met with continual success. In his <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/search/label/eve%20blog%20banter">monthly "EVE Blog Banter" segment</a>, CrazyKinux presents readers with a topic to blog on and starts off in-depth discussions. On occasion, the EVE Blog Banter becomes a competition with a few prizes provided by CCP. CrazyKinux and other judges peruse submissions to bring us the best of the month's blogging efforts and reward their writers deservedly. Our own contributing editor James Egan and EON Magazine Editor Richie "Zapattero" Shoemaker have been judges in previous contests.<br />
<br />
The latest edition of the EVE Blog Banter <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/01/28/fan-run-contest-lets-eve-online-players-win-game-merchandise/">was a bumper contest</a> with prizes for the top ten writers supplied by the EVE merchandise store. A record 56 participants wrote their take on why they love EVE Online and what makes it special for them. Amongst some of the more impressive entries, CrazyKinux whittled his choices down to his top 10 favourite entries. The first prize of $100 to spend in the EVE merchandise store went to "<a href="http://evechick.blogspot.com/2010/01/eve-blog-banter-special-edition-why-we.html">Wench with a Wrench</a>", second place went to "<a href="http://blog.dontfearthemutant.com/?p=1489">Don't Fear the Mutant</a>", third to "<a href="http://gunandcamera.wordpress.com/2010/02/01/blog-banter-special-edition-i-am/">Into the unknown with gun and camera</a>" and fourth to "<a href="http://sered-sl.blogspot.com/2010/01/eve-online-whats-appeal.html">Sered's Lives</a>". Our friend and <a href="http://www.eveonline.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> fanatic <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com">CrazyKinux</a> periodically runs an <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/search/label/eve%20blog%20banter">EVE Blog Banter</a>, where the growing number of bloggers focused on the sci-fi MMO tackle discussion topics. The end result is usually some well thought-out commentary or lively debate about an aspect of the game experience. His latest Blog Banter has a different twist; it's actually a contest where the top ten winners can score merchandise from the <a href="http://store.eve-online.com/">official EVE Store</a>. (The prizes: $100 worth for first place, $50 for second place, $25 for third and fourth, fifth through tenth place winners will each get 14 days of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> time.) <br />
<br />
Entering is pretty simple. CrazyKinux asks: <em>"What is it that makes this particular virtual world so enticing, so mysterious and so alluring that we keep coming back for more. Why is EVE one of the very few MMOs to see continuous growth in its subscribers? To put it simply: Why do you love </em>EVE Online<em> so much?"</em> Answer this question on your own blog while linking back to <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2010/01/eve-blog-banter-special-edition-why-we.html">CK's contest post</a> in your intro, then let him know about it in his contest post's comments. Be sure to check out the contest rules first, but you've got until January 31st to enter. Winners will be announced on February 5th; the contest will be judged on the merits of quality, structure, approach, and originality. <br />
<br />
So there you go -- if you're an <em>EVE Online</em> player and a decent writer as well, this could be easy money for you. Good luck to any Massively readers who decide to go for it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/01/28/fan-run-contest-lets-eve-online-players-win-game-merchandise/">Fan-run contest lets EVE Online players win game merchandise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 28 Jan 2010 09:00:00 EST. While Massively's own <a href="http://www.eveonline.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> contest is <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/massivelys-eve-online-plex-contest-enemy-at-the-gate/">off to a great start</a> this week, we also want to point out something of interest happening on our friend <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com">CrazyKinux</a>'s site. Have you ever wanted to see your name in print in <a href="http://www.eveonline.com/eon/">E-ON</a>, the official <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> magazine? Well now is your chance. CrazyKinux is running a contest where <em>EVE</em> players can make their predictions about how the game will change in 2010 or what will happen in New Eden in the next year. If your prediction lands in the top 10 entries, your submission will make it into print in E-ON magazine in January -- plus you'll also receive a free contributor copy of that issue. <br />
<br />
The contest is called "The Oracle of EVE" and will run through November 30th. It'll be judged by CrazyKinux and E-ON editor Richie Shoemaker (aka <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/04/massively-interviews-e-on-editor-zapatero/">Zapatero</a>). Check out the <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2009/11/oracle-of-eve-eon-contest.html">announcement post over at CrazyKinux's Musing</a> which explains in greater detail how you can take part. Obviously they're looking for submissions that are well-written and entertaining, but also concise. Entering is quite simple -- just write your 2010 prediction on your own blog and link to it in the comments below "The Oracle of EVE" announcement post. Good luck to any Massively readers that decide to take a shot at this.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/11/24/contest-lets-eve-online-players-get-their-name-in-print-in-e-on/">Contest lets EVE Online players get their name in print in E-ON magazine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 24 Nov 2009 13:00:00 EST. With only a few weeks to go until the launch of <a href="http://www.eveonline.com/dominion/"><em>Dominion</em></a>, the <a href="http://www.eveonline.com/"><em>EVE Online</em></a> team has got to be pretty busy. <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2009/11/npe-in-dominion-ccp-eris-discordia.html">CrazyKinux</a> was lucky enough to get a bit of time with Game Designer <a href="http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=author&amp;p=CCP%20Eris%20Discordia">Eris Discordia</a> to talk about the details of the <a href="http://wiki.eveonline.com/wiki/New_Player_Experience#New_Player_Experience">NPE - New Player Experience</a>. <br />
<br />
The discussion covered some interesting ground, such as how CCP is working to keep the NPE easy for players to use and understand, how far it's come since 2003 (<em>"You started in space and you had to shoot a drone and that was pretty much it."</em>), and how they would like to see it improve from here on out. They also talked about the reasoning behind the way the NPE is set up, as a crash course designed to get you through the basics and into the game, rather than a more scattered, drawn-out approach.<br />
<br />
It's an interesting read for any veteran <em>EVE Online</em> player, and a valuable one for anyone new to the game. <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2009/11/npe-in-dominion-ccp-eris-discordia.html">The full interview can be read here</a>, and a big thanks to CrazyKinux and Eris Discordia for taking the time for it!<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/11/16/ccp-discusses-npe-in-eve-online-expansion/">CCP discusses NPE in EVE Online expansion</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 16 Nov 2009 12:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.eveonline.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a>-focused podcast <a href="http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=32&amp;ep=3">MicroWarpCast</a> returned this week, hosted by our friend <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com">CrazyKinux</a> with guest Noah Ward (aka <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-hammerhead">CCP Hammerhead</a>), who is a Lead Game Designer at <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games">CCP Games</a>. We mentioned a while back that the winner of a contest CrazyKinux was running would get to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/08/15/fan-run-eve-contest-will-let-winner-interview-ccp-dev-on-podcast/">interview an <em>EVE</em> developer on the podcast</a>. People entered by writing an article on planetary control and how this could be implemented in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a>. The winner was Xiphos83 from the <em>EVE</em> blog "<a href="http://xiphos83.wordpress.com">A Misguided Adventurer</a>" who wrote about about a <a href="http://xiphos83.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/planetary-conquest-my-idea/">siege system that could be used in planetary conquest</a>. As the contest winner, Xiphos83 posed questions to Noah about some of the current or controversial issues in the game. <br />
<br />
This led to Noah explaining <a href="http://www.ccpgames.com">CCP</a>'s reasons for limiting the use of the directional scanner with a timer -- a major issue cited by many players who either hunt others or want to evade attackers -- due in part to player macroing of directional scans. The directional scan will never go back to how it was since that system was too easily exploitable, but he asserted that the devs have tried to balance performance for the players with server demands.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/28/microwarpcast-interviews-eve-lead-game-designer-noah-ward/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MicroWarpCast interviews EVE lead game designer Noah Ward</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/10/28/microwarpcast-interviews-eve-lead-game-designer-noah-ward/">MicroWarpCast interviews EVE lead game designer Noah Ward</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 28 Oct 2009 15:00:00 EST. We all love freebies, and <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/">CrazyKinux</a> has a whole pile of them for you. Well, for someone, anyway. No, our old friend <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/">CrazyKinux</a> isn't looking for new people to join his corporation. Currently, he's in the middle of overhauling the <em><a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/06/eve-online-blog-pack.html"><em>EVE</em> Blog Pack</a></em> rolls and is looking for some fresh new <a href="http://www.eveonline.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> bloggers to join in. While the blog pack has become a serious force in terms of independent <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online/"><em>EVE Online</em></a> community voices, some have fallen silent while others have entered the space. To keep the quality up, he's decided to overhaul the pack to make sure there's lots of top-notch content.<br /><br />If you think you've got what it takes to hang with the Blog Pack, then <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2009/08/eve-blog-pack-expansion-this-is-your.html">head on over to CrazyKinux's Musing</a> and drop in a comment with your URL and a note on why you think your site should be allowed to join. CK will look through all entries received by September 1st and make a decision. Also - if you're a pilot who just likes lots of new blogs to read, you should pop by and check out all the great sites already linked in the comments. We think CK's got his work cut out for him with all the great <em>EVE</em> content we've seen out there!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/08/23/crazykinux-looking-for-new-pilots-to-join-the-pack/">CrazyKinux looking for new pilots to join the pack</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sun, 23 Aug 2009 18:00:00 EST. In the six years since the game went live, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/29/eve-visual-guide-the-birth-of-new-eden/"><em>EVE</em>'s galactic setting of New Eden</a> has expanded to encompass thousands of solar systems, both charted space and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/wormholes">far-flung unexplored systems</a>, as the game's subscriber numbers have slowly but steadily grown. The IP is expanding in new directions as well. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/the-burning-life">Novels now add more depth</a> to the game's lore. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games">CCP Games</a> plans to let players step out of their ships and interact as avatars with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/walking-in-stations"><em>Walking in Stations</em></a>, and the devs have stated that they'd like to <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2007/06/eve-atmospheric-flight-video.html">bring atmospheric flight to the game</a> at some (undetermined) point in the future. And of course they also have a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/08/eve-online-moving-to-the-world-of-first-person-shooters/">ground pounder FPS set in the <em>EVE</em> universe</a> in the works. <br /><br />It was some of these things on the horizon that got our friend <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com">CrazyKinux </a>thinking about the possibilities that may open up for this sci-fi MMO if planetary colonization or terrestrial gameplay are introduced. In fact, he decided to make this the basis of his next <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> contest. It's one we think might interest some of Massively's readers, particularly as the contest winner will get to <strike>grill</strike> interview an <em>EVE</em> developer on the <a href="http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=32&amp;ep=3">MicroWarpCast podcast</a>.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/08/15/fan-run-eve-contest-will-let-winner-interview-ccp-dev-on-podcast/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fan-run EVE contest will let winner interview CCP dev on podcast</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/08/15/fan-run-eve-contest-will-let-winner-interview-ccp-dev-on-podcast/">Fan-run EVE contest will let winner interview CCP dev on podcast</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 15 Aug 2009 18:00:00 EST. We thought it might have been a one-off release in connection with the player gathering, but it seems The Drone Bay has returned now, with all three hosts back on the podcast. <br /><br />For those who haven't listened to The Drone Bay, it's hosted by players from different walks of life in <em>EVE</em>. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/crovan">Crovan</a> is known to many players for his PvP-centric mercenary gameplay, plus he's <em>really</em> good at this whole <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/01/31/massively-interviews-crovan-about-eve-alliance-pvp-tournament-vi/">'public speaking thing'</a>, good enough to commentate during last year's live broadcast of the <em>EVE</em> Alliance PvP Tournament. Then there's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/crazykinux/">CrazyKinux</a>, who's into more industry-related pursuits in <em>EVE</em> and has a broad knowledge of the game. The trio is rounded out by Alsedrech, who's not quite a noob anymore, but whose focus will still be helping newer players with learning the ropes of the game. The show has a good mix of commentary on happenings in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/29/eve-visual-guide-the-birth-of-new-eden/">New Eden</a> and tips for new players looking to get into <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a>.<br /><br />A few of us at Massively are huge fans of the podcast and we're hoping there'll be plenty more of The Drone Bay in the future. Like our own podcast <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/massively-speaking">Massively Speaking</a>,The Drone Bay is part of the <a href="http://www.virginworlds.com/about.php">VirginWorlds</a> collective. Somehow they all seem to get along. Looking at the EVE forums, people tend to clash all the time. Why isn't this the case with the EVE Blog Pack?</em></strong> <br /><br />I remember watching a <a href="http://www.ted.com/talks/seth_godin_on_the_tribes_we_lead.html">TED video of Seth Godin on Tribes</a>, and something he said struck me: people want one thing, they want to be missed. On the <em>EVE</em> forums, one way to do that, one way to get a response is to provoke. On forums that works, and is why we've got trolls. On the <em>EVE</em> Blog Pack that's different. We know a bit more about each other, we're trying to have discussions on what drives our gaming passion: <em>EVE</em>. Getting along is a necessary requirement, otherwise people won't come back to your blog, read and comment. Which is actually one of the requirements of the Pack, to participate in the discussions. Unless you want to be ignored, you'll respect everyone's opinion.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/06/15/eve-community-spotlight-crazykinux-page-two/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EVE Community Spotlight: CrazyKinux page two</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/06/15/eve-community-spotlight-crazykinux-page-two/">EVE Community Spotlight: CrazyKinux page two</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 15 Jun 2009 12:00:00 EST. He's known as Treenara Mazouk in New Eden, but most players simply call him 'CrazyKinux'. His site, <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/">CrazyKinux's Musing</a>, is a popular destination for players curious about <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE Online</span> or looking for info about how to get started, as well as a <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/04/eve-online-blogroll-lovefest.html">hub of activity</a> for the <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span> player community.<br /><br />Beyond the four years and counting he's been a vocal member of the player community, CrazyKinux has provided commentary on <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span> through <a href="http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=17">The Drone Bay podcast</a> and later on <a href="http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=32">MicroWarpCast</a>. The writers at Massively had the good fortune to work with CrazyKinux in the past, with his <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/have-clone-will-travel/">Have Clone, Will Travel column</a>, but he's since gone on to have a bigger impact on the game. CrazyKinux turned his attention to the <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span> community itself, where much of the out-of-game interaction between players had been on forums or on player blogs that often existed in their own microcosm. He linked them together into a cohesive community and the momentum has resulted in hundreds of <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span> players writing about their experiences in New Eden, and the <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/06/eve-online-blog-pack.html">most active bloggers</a> participate in regular, intelligent discussions about the game in "<a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2009/05/eve-blog-banters.html"><span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span> Blog Banters</a>". <br /><br />CrazyKinux is one busy man, but Massively recently caught up with him to discuss the community of <span style="font-style: italic;">EVE</span> players he's helped bring together and what it is about the game and its playerbase that motivated him to make this happen.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/06/15/eve-community-spotlight-crazykinux/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EVE Community Spotlight: CrazyKinux</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/06/15/eve-community-spotlight-crazykinux/">EVE Community Spotlight: CrazyKinux</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 15 Jun 2009 12:00:00 EST. A prime example of this is the very active <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> blogging community brought together by our friend <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com">CrazyKinux</a>, where <em>EVE</em>'s players contribute opinions, tips, even tutorials on a daily basis. Given how successful this has been with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a>, why can't MMO gamers rally around another title? <br /><br />It's possible that the next blogging community focused on a single MMO title will be based around <a href="http://www.warhammeronline.com"><em>Warhammer Online</em></a>. The <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/warhammer-online"><em>WAR</em></a>-centric blog "<a href="http://wnw.blogwarhammer.net/ ">Wizards &amp; Wenches</a>" has put out a call to the game's player base in <a href="http://wnw.blogwarhammer.net/2009/01/01/war-age-of-blogging/">WAR: Age of Blogging</a>. They're declaring January '09 to be the WAR: Age of Blogging month, and encourage any <em>Warhammer Online</em> players with something to say to jump in and start writing, even first-time bloggers. (For those who are relatively new to blogging, there's some support to be found at <a href="http://blogwarhammer.net/">Blog Warhammer</a> where they can help you get set up with a blogging platform like <a href="http://wordpress.com/">WordPress</a> or <a href="https://www.blogger.com/start">Blogger</a>.)<br /><br />Massively wishes the new <em>Warhammer Online</em> bloggers the best of luck, and we'd love to see the player community build something that turns out as well as <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/06/eve-online-blog-pack.html">The <em>EVE</em> Blog Pack</a>. If the prospect of joining the ranks of the <em>WAR</em> bloggers has caught your interest, be sure to <a href="http://wnw.blogwarhammer.net/2009/01/01/war-age-of-blogging/">see the announcement post over at Wizards &amp; Wenches</a> for more info on how you can get involved.<hr />

For those who like how busy the official forums are, but not the rules that govern it, there's <a href="http://www.scrapheap-challenge.com/">Scrapheap Challenge</a>. SH-C is a forum which is chiefly dedicated to discussing <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a>, but not moderated by <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games">CCP Games</a> themselves. Recent months, however, have seen a large number of <em>EVE</em> players striking out on their own, with their own blogs that focus on a particular aspect of the game linked to that blogger's playstyle. Industry, finance, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/piracy">piracy</a>, 0.0 alliance warfare, and now even <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/boosters">boosters</a> (drugs) are being written about on a daily basis.<br /><br />While over 100 of these blogs are out there, the more prolific among them have joined under the banner of CrazyKinux's <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/06/eve-online-blog-pack.html">Blog Pack</a>. By all accounts, it's been a successful community effort by <em>EVE</em> players, and now CrazyKinux is adding another dimension to the Blog Pack: conversation topics that are collectively tackled by the various bloggers, called "Blog Banter." The <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/10/eve-blog-banter-1-exotic-dancers.html">first Blog Banter got underway</a> this past week, and the first issue up for discussion has been a timely one: <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/walking-in-stations"><em>EVE's</em> <em>Walking in Stations</em> expansion</a>, formerly known as <em>Ambulation</em>, which <a href="http://www.eve-online.com/fanfest/2008/ ">Fanfest attendees</a> will get to try out firsthand in just a few more days. The question itself was <a href="http://psychediver.blogspot.com/">proposed by PsycheDiver</a>, who asked, <em>"Ambulation: What are your hopes for your avatar and new functionality of stations?"</em><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/02/eve-blog-banter-discusses-walking-in-stations-expansion/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EVE 'Blog Banter' discusses Walking in Stations expansion</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/02/eve-blog-banter-discusses-walking-in-stations-expansion/">EVE 'Blog Banter' discusses Walking in Stations expansion</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sun, 02 Nov 2008 16:10:00 EST. As a recap: the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/15/ccp-games-announces-quantum-rise-expansion-for-eve-online/"><em>Quantum Rise</em> expansion</a> was announced, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/13/certificates-and-medals-coming-to-eve-online/">new features</a> are on the way, the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/11/new-eve-online-video-advances-backstory/ ">backstory was advanced</a> through a new video, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/13/ccp-games-kills-ghost-training-on-inactive-eve-accounts/">controversy and even outright rage ensued</a> over disabling ghost training, a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/16/quarterly-economic-newsletter-for-eve-online-released/">Quarterly Economic Newsletter</a> was released, and there have been <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/15/real-world-economic-impact-on-mmos-and-virtual-worlds/">concerns over the future of <em>EVE</em></a> given Iceland's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/10/16/ceo-of-ccp-games-addresses-eves-continuity-through-turbulent-ti/">economic woes. </a><br /><br />While some of these news items are mentioned in the latest <a href="http://www.eve-online.com/community/newsletters/vol022.html"><em>EVE Online</em> newsletter</a> (aside from the ghost training fiasco), <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games">CCP Games</a> has also given some attention to the <em>EVE</em> community itself, something Massively has been been taking note of as well. If you're a <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a> player looking for something completely different, <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/09/eve-online-questions-for-wow-players.html">head over to CrazyKinux's blog</a> and read what he has to say to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/world-of-warcraft"><em>WoW</em></a> players looking to make the move to the alien beast that is <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em>.</a> It reads a bit like one of those articles designed to ease PC users into a transition to <a href="http://www.apple.com">Apple</a>'s Mac computers.<br /><br /><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> blogger, <a href="http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=17">Drone Bay podcast</a> co-host, and former <a href="http://www.massively.com">Massively</a> contributor CrazyKinux covers many of the bases, noting many of the strongest differences (skill-based instead of level-based character advancement, everyone is on one server instead of scattered between hundreds of small servers, etcetera). He also <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/08/10-posts-for-eve-online-newbie.html">links to several articles</a> written by him and others that are helpful to newbies.<br /><br />It's a fantastic post -- a perfect starting point for anyone considering the switch, or even for folks just curious about what <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> is all about. CrazyKinux ends on a pretty funny quote, too: "<em>EVE</em> is like a sandbox with land mines. Deal with it." But don't let that scare you. Really. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/11/27/massivelys-top-5-sci-fi-mmos/">We named it our #1 Sci-Fi MMO a while back</a>; admittedly that's not saying much, but it ought to count for something, right?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/13/crazykinux-answers-eve-online-questions-for-wow-players/">CrazyKinux answers EVE Online questions for WoW players</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 13 Sep 2008 16:00:00 EST. While other MMOs are sharded across different servers, some with different locales, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> places all of its players together. Its implementation ensures that many servers seem to be just one from the perspective of any pilot flying in New Eden. However, given the daunting size of <em>EVE's</em> explorable environment, there have been some players who took it upon themselves to map the known universe and release their findings as a resource for other pilots. Shayne Smart, <a href="http://eve-maps.blogspot.com/">aka Serenity Steele,</a> is one such player. He's been getting some media attention in recent months as Vice-Chairman of the <a href="http://www.eve-csm.com">Council of Stellar Management</a> (CSM). Beyond his duties on the CSM, Smart is also well-known to many players as the creator of <a href="http://www.eve-maps.com/overview.asp"><em>EVE</em> Strategic Maps,</a> a spiral bound collection of star charts which some fans of the game <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/06/eve-strategic-maps-never-undock-without.html ">find indispensable. </a><br /><br />You would think Smart would find mapping out 5000 solar systems (each with its own myriad planets, moons, stations, and other resources) a feat hard to top. But what Smart's done is found a way to use the in-game browser in the <em>EVE</em> client to <a href="http://www.eve-maps.com/minimap.asp">act as a sort of GPS,</a> tracking your position as you jump from one solar system to the next, and allowing you to better see your relative position in the galaxy as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/17/eve-evolved-setting-up-your-overview-part-1/">part of your overview.</a> The cartographer's latest 'minimap' effort is presently 2-D only and in beta, though is well worth a look and quite simple to use. Click the gallery below for Shayne Smart's instructions on how to use the free 2D minimap within your in-game browser.<br /><br />

He's put together a collection of resources geared towards new players of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE,</em></a> or for those who are curious about what the game entails. He culled roughly three years of his own content to select ten of his most useful posts, out of the hundreds he's written. <br /><br />The list hits topics ranging from the simple -- acronyms, mission running, and finding the right corporation to join -- to the more complex, such as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/20/eve-online-exploration-video-tutorial/">exploration tips</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/van-hemlock-the-distrust-of-recruits-and-the-path-of-acceptance/">faction standings.</a> He strikes a good balance between content for new players and info for veteran players who could use a refresher on these aspects of the game. Also of interest there is the ever-growing <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/06/eve-online-blog-pack.html"><em>EVE Online</em> Blog Pack,</a> which provides an easy way to keep up to date with what the <em>EVE</em> blogging community is up to. There's no doubt about that. That complexity is a large part of the draw, but that doesn't mean learning about the game has to be a daunting experience. With that in mind, Massively has <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> in its sights. We've brought solid writers on staff who are quite knowledgeable about the game and are here to give some in-depth info on how <em>EVE</em> is played. <br /><br />CrazyKinux and Crovan of <a href="http://www.virginworlds.com/podcast.php?show=17 ">The Drone Bay</a> podcast joined us in April, and since then have provided Massively's readers with some helpful columns. In a vast, open galaxy like <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online's</em></a> setting of New Eden, the option of becoming an explorer is an appealing one. However, despite the name 'exploration,' players cannot actually discover new solar systems. They can, however, find hidden content throughout space, both in highsec and lowsec. This can include hidden asteroid belts (presumably with rarer ores to mine), hacking and archaeology sites, harvestable gas clouds used in drug production, and numerous combat encounters. <br /><br />Admittedly, exploration is not an easy <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/eve-evolved-freeform-professions/">profession to pick up</a> for beginners, but with enough skills related to scanning and covert ops, paired with a decent understanding of game mechanics and the value of a cloaking device, exploration can be lucrative -- particularly in 0.0 space. Of course, there will inevitably be times where an explorer is simply burning off scan probes in the futile hope of finding something new. Perhaps SRRAE has become a victim of his own success, as he <a href="http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&amp;threadID=805659">recently lamented the downside</a> of exploration's growing popularity among New Eden's capsuleers.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/07/exploration-tutorial-video.html">[Via CrazyKinux]</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/20/eve-online-exploration-video-tutorial/">EVE Online exploration video tutorial</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sun, 20 Jul 2008 13:00:00 EST. On the show, the three guys discuss what they've been up to in the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> universe lately, as well as <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/03/amazing-eve-alliance-tournament.html">the Alliance Tournament</a>, and a big rundown of <em>EVE</em>'s economic setup (<a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/03/drone-bay-podcast-eve-economic-segment.html">CK's notes can all be found</a> on his site as well). Oh and they also talk about a non-<em>EVE</em> game, which rhymes with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/tabula-rasa"><em>Rabula Tasa</em></a>.<br /><br />All in all, good show, and definitely seems like it will be a great place to get a weekly podcast fix for <em>EVE Online</em> news. The guys definitely know their stuff, and while audience participation could probably get a little busier (we'll give them a break -- it's their first show), it definitely stays interesting and is perfect for keeping busy during those long mining sessions. Our good friend <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2008/02/new-eve-podcast-in-works.html">Crazykinux reveals</a> that along with <a href="http://bitteroldnoob.blogspot.com/2008/02/new-eve-podcast-enters-pre-pilot-mode.html">Bitter Old Noob</a> and fellow <em>EVE</em> player Aldresech, they're plotting a brand new <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> podcast. Normally, this isn't really news (podcasts are a dime a dozen, and in fact, we'll put a Massively podcast together eventually, I guarantee), but considering that Crazy and BON are such experts on the game, and that they really seem to be putting the brain to the pedal on this one (they're talking "segments" and "content"), we can already tell it'll be a good listen.<br /><br />They are also looking for a name, however, so if you've got a suggestion, roll <a href="http://bitteroldnoob.blogspot.com/2008/02/new-eve-podcast-enters-pre-pilot-mode.html">on over to BON's post</a> and suggest your own. Without having heard it, it's hard to come up with a name, and though "Transversal Velocity" seems to be winning, I'll nudge them that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/turpstervision/">"TV" is already taken</a>. "The Drone Bay" is a good one, too, but I admire "PODcast," if only for its simplicity. Can't wait to hear it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/02/20/crazykinux-bitter-old-noob-plan-new-eve-podcast/">Crazykinux, Bitter Old Noob plan new EVE podcast</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 20 Feb 2008 17:00:00 EST. CrazyKinux has <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2007/12/from-rags-to-riches-challenge.html">got a post up</a> about something I wish I'd known about before it started-- there's <a href="http://dukestreet.org/archives/004549.html">a "Rags to Riches" contest</a> going on in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE Online</em></a> right now. The participants started up a 14-day free trial account, and like a virtual world reality show, they are seeing who can raise the most ISK doing... whatever it is they come up with.<br /><br />It looks like there's <a href="http://dukestreet.org/archives/004564.html">only three entrants</a> (should have let us know about it, Duke!), but the 14 days started at the beginning of this week, so here's hoping they're feverishly working as we speak to get enough ISK together to win a 30-day game card. And sneaky starting it during patch week, too-- that cuts it down to 13 days, really considering all the downtime and downloading today. And they're going to be blogging about it the whole time-- Wiseones is <a href="http://evefromdayone.wordpress.com/">up to about 819k on Day 2</a>, just by doing the newbie missions and mining.<br /><br /><em>EVE</em> players, what would you do for a ton of ISK in such a short time? The best thing I can think of would be to somehow gain access to a corporation's funds (perhaps by mining for them only for 13 days straight), and then shamelessly rip them off completely on the last day, pulling all their accounts and selling everything you can get your hands on. Hey, it's not pretty or nice, but you can't get to the top of the ladder without stepping on some hands, right?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/12/04/from-rags-to-riches-in-eve-online/">From Rags to Riches in EVE Online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 04 Dec 2007 21:32:00 EST. The video is actually a little old (it's being passed around by the devs at various conventions and on the <em>EVE</em> Affiliate program), but it's definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it before-- <em>EVE</em> is already <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/19/eve-online-is-really-pretty/">a good looking game</a>, and it's about to get more, um, good-looking-er.<br /><br />Everything just looks slicker, more reflective, and better defined. I think my favorite is the Prophecy, but I can't wait to see how my ships (I'm still a noob-- riding in an <a href="http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Exequror">Exequror</a> and an <a href="http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Iteron_Mark_II">Iteron</a> right now, but working on moving to an <a href="http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Osprey">Osprey</a> and a much bigger hauler) look after the update. Here's <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/crazykinux/sets/72057594133493898/">some more new shots</a>-- <a href="http://www.eve-online.com/news/newsOfEve.asp?newsID=466">Trinity II</a> can't come fast enough.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/31/eve-online-trinity-ii-ship-comparisons/">EVE Online Trinity II ship comparisons</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 31 Oct 2007 18:00:00 EST. I think this is the best shot in <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2007/10/my-best-eve-online-screenshots.html">CrazyKinux</a>'s must see <a href="http://www.crazykinux.com/2007/10/my-best-eve-online-screenshots.html">top ten favorites of <em>EVE Online</em> screenshots</a>. Say what you will about <em>EVE</em>'s pungent mix of trading, combat, and spaceship destruction (every time I turn around, people are saying they've lost their ships in <em>EVE Online</em>), but there is no question that the game is a work of art. Everywhere you turn, there's an amazing nebula or a breaktaking planet for your ship to pose in front of.<br /><br />And if you like those ten, CrazyKinux has also put <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/crazykinux/sets/72157594232876725/">a whole Flickr set of his favorites</a> online for your perusing pleasure. Experience the universe of <em>EVE</em> the way it probably should be experienced more often-- all of the beauty, none of the ISK worries.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/19/eve-online-is-really-pretty/">EVE Online is really pretty</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 19 Oct 2007 22:27:00 EST.
