There's not exactly nothing to do in many games if you don't want to hurt anyone, but outside of certain environments such as Second Life, you're going to be spending a good amount of your time racking up an impressive string of kills. Rather than considering the in-depth moral ramifications of that, it's probably better to focus on the more pertinent issues of what crazy items you can use to inflict said kills. Whips and chains, for instance, put in a miserably small showing across the variety of games that are on the market, despite having obvious advantages.

Today, we ask you what sort of bizarre weapon you'd like to see in your game of choice. Whether it be something practical with a solid basis such as the kusarigama pictured above or something unwieldy and unlikely to be reasonable, there are probably weapons that are nowhere to be found or at least only found in a few settings that you still harbor a soft spot for. What do you want your character to tote around as an engine of destruction?
The Daily Grind: What kind of weapons do you long for? originally appeared on Massively on Fri, 18 Dec 2009 08:00:00 EST.
"Why you should be playing ..." is a freeform column from Massively.com intended to inform you about our favorite parts of our favorite games. We want you to know why we're playing them, so you can know what to play.

I didn't give Aion the world's most glowing set of remarks last time I visited it, so I thought I should at least stop by and spend some time on a part of the game that I do actually like -- chain attacks.

Chain attacks do many things to help Aion's combat move smoothly and efficiently. They clean up the UI, they offer flexible choices, they keep the combat looking fluid, and they're a lot of fun to pull off.
