We're not sure exactly when <a href="http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com"><em>Final Fantasy XIV</em>'s</a> large <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ffxiv-December-update/">December update</a> will be going live, but we do know that one of its major inclusions will be the addition of notorious monsters. The first of these powerful beasts has <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/12/01/final-fantasy-xiv-shows-off-its-first-notorious-monstrosity/">already been previewed</a>, but a new one is now being shown for all to see... not that it would be easy to miss the enormous <a href="http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/topics/detail?id=4155195e98fad0550afdf2dd76d263ca519bec7d">Tarbh Uisge</a>. One of the last great buffalo, his mind has been eaten away through years of suppressive magics, leaving him as a bundle of violent rage.<br />
<br />
Tarbh Uisge appears to be in the same category as the previously demonstrated Deadeyes in more ways than one. This great beast is linked to a levequest as well, but he also drops the same set of runestones as his contemporary. The Templar armor previewed alongside the buffalo, therefore, can be obtained by players slaying either beast and accumulating drops, which frees players to pursue both or neither as they see fit. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantasy-XIV/">Final Fantasy XIV</a> should be releasing this newest opponent in the near future, which should yield a notable boon to everyone not <a href="http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/topics/detail?id=4155195e98fad0550afdf2dd76d263ca519bec7d">trampled underfoot</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/12/07/final-fantasy-xiv-launches-another-notorious-preview/">Final Fantasy XIV launches another notorious preview</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 07 Dec 2010 22:00:00 EST. The next month or so is going to be an interesting time for <a href="http://www.playonline.com"><em>Final Fantasy XI</em></a>, with its spiritual and numerical sequel launching tomorrow. (<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/final-fantasy-xiv">You might have heard of it</a>.) But the development team is still putting its best foot forward, and in this case that means it's time for adventurers all across Vana'diel to enjoy the older game by... <a href="http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/5857/detail.html">herding cows</a>. It probably sounds at least moderately more epic if you're familiar with the Blazing Buffaloes event overall.<br />
<br />
Starting on September 28th and running until October 12th, Blazing Buffaloes is a chance for players to take part in the age-old art of bovine management, complete with a decorative reward for successful herders. While the detailed mechanics have not been made available, odds are good that <a href="http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Blazing_Buffaloes_2009/Guide">last year's guide</a> will serve as a decent stopgap until players have had a chance to suss out any and all new wrinkles. Whether or not you're taking advantage of the concurrent subscription bonus with <a href="http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com"><em>Final Fantasy XIV</em></a>, you can enjoy the latest <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Final-Fantasy-XI/">Final Fantasy XI</a></em> holiday <a href="http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/5857/detail.html">starting next week</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/09/21/final-fantasy-xi-runs-the-bulls-once-again/">Final Fantasy XI runs the bulls once again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 21 Sep 2010 21:00:00 EST. Those moogles are crazy, ya'know? First they almost cause a <a href="http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/topics/special/080919.html">buffalo stampede</a> for the opening of the Mog House Management Union Buffalo Bonanza Ranch (try saying that three times fast) and only now do they realize that buffalo eat <strong>a lot</strong>. Sadly, these poor moogles ended up working during all of the holiday festivities just to keep their buffalo happy. That's heartbreaking by anybody's standards.<br /><br />Yet, while the moogles work, herdsmen have come from the ranch on behalf of the MHMU to bring us buffalo based <a href="http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Happy_New_Year_2009/Guide">treats and festivities</a> to the streets of the four main cities of Vana'diel. Plus, if you journey outside of your city's walls, you're bound to run into a few loose buffalo being chased by the MHMU ranchers. Trade them some of your unwanted items, and perhaps they might be so kind to pay you back with free buffs, or <a href="http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Snowman_Knight">new</a> <a href="http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Snowman_Mage">year's</a> <a href="http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Snowman_Miner">gifts</a>!<br /><br />To make sure we didn't miss anything with this story, I spoke with Masskupoively, our resident news moogle. He provided great insight into what the MHMU was considering with this festive event.<br /><br /><strong>Masskupoively:</strong> Kupo! Kuuupo, kupo kupo! Kupoooooooo~!<br /><br />Truly, words spoken by a news master. <a href="http://www.playonline.com"><em>Final Fantasy XI</em></a> adventurers, be sure to check out the <a href="http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/4018/detail.html">New Year's Event</a> in Vana'diel, it's only running until January 12th!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/01/05/final-fantasy-xi-throws-a-bovine-bonanza-for-the-year-of-the-ox/">Final Fantasy XI throws a bovine bonanza for the Year of the Ox</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 05 Jan 2009 09:00:00 EST.
