Just over a month ago, the <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/eve-fanfest-2011/">Fanfest</a> was in full swing and some exciting new information on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online/"><em>EVE</em></a>'s future was being released. Massively was there to bring you <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/03/24/eve-online-fanfest-2011-roundup-day-1/">all the</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/03/25/eve-online-fanfest-2011-roundup-day-2/">big news</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/03/26/eve-online-fanfest-2011-roundup-day-3/">as it came out</a>, but most <em>EVE</em> players were unable to attend the event. Thankfully, most of the Fanfest panels and events were filmed and the main ones were even streamed live to viewers at home. For those who missed all the Fanfest excitement, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games/">CCP Games</a> has spent the last few weeks preparing those videos for launch and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/CCPGAMES/#g/c/9923468C02F5604D">uploading them to YouTube</a>. The team has also sent us 150 professional photos from the event to include in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/eve-fanfest-2011/">our Fanfest gallery</a>.<br />
<br />
In this final Fanfest roundup article, we've put together a handy list of every video from the Fanfest along with a handy summary of each. Not included in the list are the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyrImQ1yltc">very technical Dev Tracker workshops</a> designed to inform third-party app developers. Many of these videos contain swearing and some are definitely not safe for work. Talks definitely worth watching include the CCP panel, the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/03/25/eve-fanfest-2011-keynote-from-the-top-of-the-world/"><em>EVE</em> keynote</a>, the content panel, incursions, words words words and live events. Things you absolutely don't want to miss are the hilarious but not work-safe alliance panel, the PvP tournament finals, the war on lag talk, guest lecture "Who Needs a CEO?" by <a href="http://www.battleclinic.com/">Battleclinic</a> founder Chris Condon, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-sreegs">CCP Sreegs</a>' talk on security, and of course, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/03/26/eve-fanfest-2011-closing-ceremony-video-cluster-shows-off-the-f/">the EVE: A Future Vision trailer</a>.<br />
<br />
Skip past the cut for a full roundup of all the videos from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/eve-fanfest-2011/">this year's <em>EVE</em> Fanfest</a>.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/04/29/eve-online-fanfest-2011-final-video-roundup/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EVE Online Fanfest 2011: Final video roundup</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/04/29/eve-online-fanfest-2011-final-video-roundup/">EVE Online Fanfest 2011: Final video roundup</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 29 Apr 2011 12:00:00 EST. In Autumn 2005, <a href="http://www.eve-online.com"><em>EVE Online</em></a> became one of the only MMOs out there with its own dedicated print magazine. Under contract from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ccp-games/"><em>CCP Games</em></a>, <a href="http://www.mmmpublishing.com/"><em>MMM Publishing</em></a> has worked tirelessly ever since to produce <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online/"><em>EVE</em></a>'s official magazine "E-ON." Four times per year, we're blessed with a dose of the latest and greatest things from New Eden in a comfortingly solid format. The magazine covers everything from strategy guides and ship fitting advice to sneak peaks at upcoming expansions, interviews with CCP staff and incredible fiction set in the <em>EVE</em> universe.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/eon/">E-ON</a> differs from other game magazines in that they don't any make money from advertising. In an effort to keep the magazine all about <em>EVE</em>, they've taken the unusual but apparently successful route of publishing full-page adverts from in-game corporations and organisations. Advertisers buy space in the magazine with ISK, the in-game currency, and adverts must be for strictly in-game purposes. The ISK is then used to pay volunteer writers, who create most of the magazine's content and produce important things like guides from a true player's perspective. There's even <a href="http://www.facebook.com/EONmagazine">a scheme in the works to reward advertisers with discount coupon codes</a> for the magazine to gift their corpmates. Now nearing their fifth year of publishing, E-ON issue 19 has recently been released. As usual, this issue is absolutely packed full of everything we've come to expect from the mag.<br />
<br />
Skip past the cut for a run-down of what you can expect in issue 19 of E-ON Magazine.<strong><br />

They spoke with Halld&oacute;r Fannar Gu&eth;j&oacute;nsson, CTO at CCP Games, and Gabe Mahoney, VP of Engineering. Given how significant <em>Apocrypha</em> has been from the standpoint of the players and CCP alike, the interview focuses on the expansion.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/04/07/eve-online-developers-discuss-apocrypha-expansions-impact-on-th/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>EVE Online developers discuss Apocrypha expansion's impact on the game</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/04/07/eve-online-developers-discuss-apocrypha-expansions-impact-on-th/">EVE Online developers discuss Apocrypha expansion's impact on the game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 07 Apr 2009 18:00:00 EST. But that freedom comes with a price; <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> can be a harsh setting, particularly for newer players trying to get a handle on the game. <br /><br />For the newer player who's recently completed the tutorial, <em>EVE</em> largely remains a mystery... one which only reading, learning from other players, and just 'going for it' can solve. Still, it's always good when someone passes on advice to newer players as many of us learned our lessons the hard way. To that end, we bring you <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/photos/the-10-commandments-of-eve-online/1003189/">The 10 Commandments of <em>EVE.</em></a> Truth be told, there are a <em>lot</em> more than ten essential things to know about the game, but this is a good start. Feel free to add your own "commandments" or lessons learned in the comments below. <br /><br />

But, as BattleClinic notes, <em>"no one seems to really know who the hell Sergeant-Major Illivia is."</em> And that, all of you aspiring fiction writers, is the basis of the contest. <br /><br />Sergeant-Major Illivia needs a biography, no longer than four paragraphs, completely original, and set within the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE</em></a> universe. If your writing makes the cut, the prizes offered include <a href="https://store.eve-online.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=106">The Art of <em>EVE</em>,</a> a 60-day <a href="https://store.eve-online.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=128"><em>EVE</em> Time Card,</a> and a 1GB <em>EVE</em> USB FlashDrive. Check out the rest of the rules and conditions <a href="http://www.battleclinic.com">over at BattleClinic,</a> but remember the deadline for your bio submissions will be Friday, July 11. And for the love of the Amarrian God, don't begin with <em>"It was a dark and stormy night..." </em><br /><br /><a href="http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&amp;threadID=810926">Via EVE Online<br /></a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/eve-online-writing-contest-at-battleclinic/">EVE Online writing contest at BattleClinic</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 01 Jul 2008 17:30:00 EST. Matthew Woodward, a Game Designer from <a href="http://www.ccpgames.com">CCP Games,</a> has put together an in-character <a href="http://www.battleclinic.com/eve_online/faction_warfare.php">factional warfare guide,</a> which is exclusive to the site. Woodward writes under the guise of one 'Sergeant-Major Illivia', and tries to whip the reader into shape as if they were a new recruit in Boot Camp. <br /><br />Sergeant-Major Illivia's ranting introduction to factional warfare in the <a href="http://www.eveonline.com/empyreanage"><em>Empyrean Age</em></a> walks you through militia enlistment, battlefield intelligence, your objectives in the war, and most importantly -- how to stay alive in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/eve-online"><em>EVE.</em></a> It's a clever way of conveying what's involved in factional conflict to a prospective recruit, although Woodward/Illivia does make you feel like a whelp at times. Check out the "Faction Warfare Enlistment Debrief" <a href="http://www.battleclinic.com/eve_online/faction_warfare.php">at BattleClinic</a> for fiction with practical applications.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/battleclinics-exclusive-factional-warfare-guide-by-ccp-games/">BattleClinic's exclusive Factional Warfare guide by CCP Games</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 01 Jul 2008 13:30:00 EST.
