<p>Linden Lab's governance team has started removing vendors for <a href="http://secondlife.com/"><em>Second Life</em></a> skins (that is, avatar textures) that are intended to portray teens and juveniles. It is not exactly clear why the action is suddenly being taken, as Linden Lab themselves approved the skins which have underwear 'baked in' to avoid any licentiousness. All in all, the affected skins are less lewd than a K-Mart kidswear catalog.</p>
<p>However, since the vendors depicted the skins 'as is' (that is not completely clothed, so that you would be unable to see what you were trying to purchase), Linden Lab has unexpectedly reneged on previously granted approval and is now acting to remove them. The removals that we are aware of have been appealed, and those appeals have been rejected.</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/12/02/linden-lab-doubles-back-on-approved-skins/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Linden Lab doubles-back on approved skins</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/12/02/linden-lab-doubles-back-on-approved-skins/">Linden Lab doubles-back on approved skins</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 02 Dec 2008 12:30:00 EST. <p>It's always a thrill when one of your favorite game-developers announces that they're working on an MMO or virtual world or when a developer takes on one of your favorite properties. Developer Headlock is well along on one such virtual world now. </p>
<p>Japanese developers are working on a number of virtual worlds (which we hope to get more of a handle on over time). This one, <a href="http://ai-sp.jp/"><em>ai-sp@ce</em></a>, is set in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akihabara">Akihabara </a>and will also feature characters from <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_novel">Visual Novels</a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clannad_%28visual_novel%29"><em>Clannad</em></a> (????), <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuffle%21">Shuffle!</a></em>, and <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D.C._II:_Da_Capo_II">Da Capo 2</a></em> (D.C.II). Yes, it's the world of Japanese Visual Novels come-to-life in a 3D virtual world!</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/05/05/headlocks-ai-sp-ce-virtual-world-to-launch-this-year/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Headlock's ai sp@ce virtual world to launch this year</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/05/05/headlocks-ai-sp-ce-virtual-world-to-launch-this-year/">Headlock's ai sp@ce virtual world to launch this year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 05 May 2008 10:00:00 EST.
