There's a problem in the <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Guild-Wars-2/">Guild Wars 2</a></em> World vs. World matching system, and it's a subtle one that's almost invisible until you look closer. Because of the way ratings are calculated and how the matchups happen, the net result for each server is always being matched up against the same servers. No matter how well you perform, you wind up locked into a certain tier without any hope of changes. It's a problem that the development team is both aware of and <a href="https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/big-changes-coming-to-wvw-matchups/">is moving to address</a>.<br />
<br />
The short version of how things will work is that servers will be matched up semi-randomly, with ratings taken into account to assure that the spread between opponents isn't too severe. More math beneath the surface takes into account both the current rating of a given world and its overall deviation, producing a "real" rating that will facilitate fair matches. When life hands you lemons, you build a new life. Out of lemons. The metaphor is a bit tortured, but the ultimate point is still the same: When <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/City-of-Heroes/">City of Heroes</a></em> fans found out the game was shutting down, some decided to band together and make a new game to incorporate all of the best of <em>CoH</em> while not being, you know, shut down completely. It's something that I've discussed a few times now because it's a really neat idea that also has some really big potential pitfalls.<br />

<a href="http://www.missingworldsmedia.com/"><em>The Phoenix Project</em></a> and <em><a href="http://www.heroes-and-villains.com/phpb/home.php">Heroes &amp; Villains</a></em> are the two big games working at getting themselves together, and they've had about half a year to do so. Both have been moving forward, networking, and putting together everything needed to make the games actually exist. And there's good news and bad news about both, some in tandem and some separately. There is something exciting about taking your first steps into the mysteries of a new planet. I was anxious to mingle with the locals, analyze artifacts, and even pick a few plants -- that is, until I saw a flower burst from the ground as a giant vine-like beast. As it chewed up the slinky Aurin next to me, I decided to leave the flowers for the next Scientist.<br />
<br />
So began my hands-on experience with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/wildstar/"><em>WildStar</em></a>, the exciting and often comical new MMO from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ncsoft/">NCsoft</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Carbine-Studios/">Carbine Studios</a>. The half-day event gave me time to play the Esper class, build some structures on the Settler path, and hurtle myself through the air in the name of science. There is so much to talk about!<br />

Character select and creation music has always fascinated me. OK, maybe not fascinated; it's interested me. I've always viewed such themes as the overture of the game, the interlude between the title theme and the game proper to come.<br />
<br />
These themes don't tend to be rip-roaring in their presentation because that's not their purpose. They have to be pleasant enough without being annoying when looped endlessly. After all, sometimes players spend a <em>loooong </em>time making their characters or sitting there at the select screen, and the last thing you want is for their ears to become fatigued by the experience.<br />
<br />
So here are six MMO character select and character creation themes that I've enjoyed over the years. Karka Island! Sunny Orr! <div>This morning, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/arenanet">ArenaNet</a> dropped the price point of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a> by <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/arenanet-permanently-lowers-guild-wars-2s-price-point/">$10 across all available editions</a>. In a follow-up chat about some of the decisions behind that move, Game Director <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/colin-johanson">Colin Johanson</a> talked a bit about community support, the game's regular update cadence, and the company's hopes for bringing <em>Guild Wars 2</em> into new markets.<br />
<br />
While a $10 price drop is not an extreme move, Johanson is confident that the change will bring <em>Guild Wars 2 </em>to new people. The company seems to be currently focused on building up community support. Just yesterday, some <a href="https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/community/api/API-Documentation">APIs were made available</a> to the public for the first time. We've already seen them put to use in real-time WvW tracking and event monitors. Johanson also talked about recent efforts to shore up the support for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/spvp">sPvP</a> and how the additions of custom arenas and spectator mode has led to viewers for sPvP streams "more than doubling" in the last few weeks. The game appears to be moving towards a twice-monthly update schedule. Johanson said that while ArenaNet has "not ruled out" the idea of future expansions, the company is committed to the idea of the living story.<br />
<br />
Johanson mentioned that <em>Guild Wars 2</em> is sitting solidly at "well over 3,000,000 copies sold" without tapping into the Chinese market. He added that the game just had its first <a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151558567044571.1073741825.42734604570&amp;type=1">closed beta test in China </a>and that the team is optimistic. ArenaNet hopes to make the Chinese version of the game as similar as possible to the existing one.<br />

<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/arenanet">ArenaNet</a> has made the call to permanently lower the price point for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a>. The game previously sold for $59.99 for the Digital Edition and $79.99 for the Deluxe Edition. Both of those prices are being lowered by $10. This is not a sale, but the new regular price of the game. ArenaNet expects that this change will bring in new players and make the game more accessible.<br />
<br />
Content releases in <em>Guild Wars 2</em> continue apace. Since launch, we've seen a handful of special events alongside one-time content, persistent content, and added features. On the other hand, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ncsoft">NCsoft</a> recently reported lower sales for this quarter than the previous one, citing "<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/05/12/ncsoft-sales-down-from-last-quarter-up-from-last-year/">the reduction in <em>Guild Wars 2</em> package sales</a>" as part of the cause.<br />

The big baddie of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2's</em></a> recent living story <a href="https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/may-28-2013/">has been called out</a>. He's Canach, a renegade who thinks that that the answer to every urban planning problem is "more monsters." The Sylvari is behind a plot to use the creatures of Southsun to free settlers from the grasp of the Consortium.<br />
<br />
A showdown with Canach is set to happen when the next chapter of the game's living story rolls out on May 28. The update, titled Last Stand at Southsun, will contain a solo dungeon where players will go mano-a-planto with Canach. <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/arenanet">ArenaNet</a> says that those who defeat Canach will then open up new group content to tackle.<br />
<br />
Other changes on deck include a zone-stomping monster and plenty of changes to world-vs.-world content. Who says devs only want to beat us with a nerf bat? When a long-time <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/aion">Aion</a></em> player decided he wanted to ask the most important question of his life using the game he and his beloved shared countless hours in over the years, devs jumped to his aid.<br />
<br />
To help make the experience memorable, <em>Aion's</em> devs provided a backdrop of cakes and musicians in Sanctum Square on the Israphel server where both resided. Then as the hopeful groom-to-be dropped to his knee in game, the heartfelt words he recited to her in real life also flashed across the game screen for all to see. When she gave her answer, the sky exploded in fireworks and everyone saw the message, "She said YES!!!"<br />
<br />
Congratulations to the happy couple, Jambo and Trishann! We're sure that's a proposal that will not be forgotten. And kudos to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ncsoft/">NCsoft</a> for having the heart to be a part of one of the greatest moments in its players' lives. The downside to writing about <a href="http://www.wildstar-online.com"><em>WildStar</em></a> in this stage of the game's lifecycle is that because of the very nature of beta tests, I'm going to be spending a lot of time speculating instead of talking about certainties. Last week, I speculated. I was wrong on some points, as I found out when I got a letter from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Carbine/">Carbine</a> clarifying some things that had previously been ambiguous enough for speculation.<br />

The upside to writing about <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/WildStar/">WildStar</a></em> in this stage of the game's lifecycle is that sometimes I get letters from development staff letting me in on valuable inside information.<br />

"The Consortium is neither good nor evil. The Consortium is capitalist," <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/arenanet">ArenaNet</a> Narrative Designer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Scott-McGough/">Scott McGough</a> begins as he introduces this faction to gamers in a new video. If you've been playing <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2/"><em>Guild Wars 2's</em></a> new living world content in Southsun Cove, then you've undoubtedly bumped into one or two of the representatives from this firm.<br />
<br />
McGough explains that the Consortium is angling to be a competitor to the Black Lion Trading Company, and that means selling people all sorts of feel-good products that they want and need. They also appeared to be the savior of the refugees from the previous living story, offering the dispossessed a place to live and work. Unfortunately for the settlers, the Consortium is not prepared to let them go any time soon, and Southsun Cove is a much more dangerous place to live than the Consortium realized.<br />

Who says we can't get what we want? I wanted the Shugo Kingdom Adventure event to return to <em><a href="http://na.aiononline.com/en/">Aion</a></em>, and I'm getting my wish. Booyah! No, really, it's true: Starting after maintenance on May 22nd, Daevas who've flown over level 50 will again be able to journey for a limited time to the long lost vaults of the Shugo Kingdom in search of great and glorious treasure. And by treasure, I mean a trove of chests filled with AP items, Stormwing armor pieces and weapons, or even rare sets of wings. Of course what you get depends on how many keys you have and a little luck, so there's no harm in starting your sacrifices to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/aion/"><em>Aion's</em></a> RNG gods now.<br />

<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars"><em>Guild Wars 1</em></a> has seen the end of an era of live development today, as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ArenaNet/">ArenaNet</a> <a href="http://www.guildwars.com/players/">stated that it is switching the game over to automation</a>. The studio said that players should not expect any further content other than the systems being put into place to keep the game running on auto-pilot for the foreseeable future.<br />

"Over time, our focus has shifted to updates that not only help maintain <em>Guild Wars</em> but help the game maintain itself," ArenaNet posted. "With this focus in mind, we'll no longer be releasing any new content for the live game except in support of automation. Our goal is to get the game to a place where it can continue to run and be available to all of our fans. We have a lot of love for <em>Guild Wars </em>-- it's the game that made us what we are today -- and we want to continue sharing it with everyone!"<br />
<br />
Tournaments, events, and birthday prizes will be moved over to automation during this transition. "This is going to be the best game most of us have built in our lives," <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Carbine-Studios/">Carbine Studios</a> Executive Producer <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Jeremy-Gaffney/">Jeremy Gaffney</a> said bluntly.<br />
<br />
The game in question, of course, is <a href="http://www.wildstar-online.com/en/"><em>WildStar</em></a>, and it represents Gaffney's 10th or so trip through the beta development chute on the way to release. There's an undeniable note of pride and calm confidence in his voice as he talks about the baby that's growing inside Carbine's womb right now, and he was definitely not shy in opening up about all of the decisions and work the team's made as <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/wildstar/"><em>WildStar</em></a> heads into its second trimester... er, closed beta test.<br />
<br />
Before that, however, Gaffney provided a recap of the first closed beta test. He said that it was pretty limited, with only 2,000 players testing out the lowbie Exile zones. The team moved some of the elder game content down in level so that people could test it out, and developers spent some time doing impromptu Q&amp;A sessions with players in the field. As a result, Carbine is ready to shift over to the Dominion side and greatly expand the beta in size and content. During <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/05/12/ncsoft-sales-down-from-last-quarter-up-from-last-year/">the most recent NCsoft earnings call</a>, there was a slightly surprising statement regarding a possible expansion for <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2/"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a>. An <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ncsoft/">NCsoft</a> rep sent Massively an email to clarify what the publisher is thinking in regards to the future of <em>GW2</em>. The statement reads as follows:

<blockquote class="bq-standard">"In regards to your recent post on a <em>Guild Wars 2</em> expansion, there is a slight misunderstanding when interpreting the answer from the NCsoft earnings call. We are considering an expansion, but we are taking a wait-and-see stance. We are evaluating the performance of the game and deciding on when would be the best time to launch an expansion. But right now, our living story approach is very successful in keeping players engaged with new and exciting content. Launching boxed expansions are a great way to package content, but if we can do this on a more regular basis, something we've been doing since launch, it provides players with new content to explore and experience every time they log into the game."</blockquote>

As is no secret, I'm something of an <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/altoholic/">altoholic</a>. This is the case in pretty much every game I play that allows for that sort of thing. If I <em>can </em>make multiple characters, I <em>will</em>.<br />

While it's not solely responsible for the longevity of my involvement in MMOs, it sure doesn't hurt. I'm presently sitting at four max characters in <a href="https://www.guildwars2.com/en/"><em>Guild Wars </em>2</a>. That'll turn into five fairly soon, and then I've got plans for another six or seven after that. (For those of you keeping score at home, that <em>does </em>involve having more than one max-level character of the same profession. <br />
This patch is part of the on-going content updates that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ArenaNet/">ArenaNet</a> has brought to the popular MMO since launch, including the ongoing <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Flame-and-Frost/">Flame &amp; Frost</a> content. Word of an expansion pack came out during the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/05/12/ncsoft-sales-down-from-last-quarter-up-from-last-year/">NCsoft earnings call</a> earlier this week, although nothing has been officially confirmed from ArenaNet.<br />

Nexus is a big place. We saw last week what it's going to be like getting from spot to spot in a smaller sense with last week's overview of movement, but there's more to movement in <a href="http://www.wildstar-online.com"><em>WildStar</em></a>. After all, there are a lot of zones stretched out over big chunks of land, and even if you're sprinting as much as you can you'll eventually find that you can't traverse an entire continent by foot, much less the ocean.<br />

<a href="http://global.ncsoft.com/global/ir/quarterly.aspx">A recent earnings report</a> suggests that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ncsoft/">NCsoft's</a> sales have slipped from Q4 2012 to Q1 2013, although the studio is quick to point out that the showing was "solid" particularly when compared to sales from a year ago. While sales were down 35% and net income was down 49% from the last quarter, sales were up 31% and net income was up 322% year-over-year.<br />
<br />
 <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2/">Guild Wars 2</a></em> accounted for 21% of sales in the first quarter, in addition to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/blade-and-soul"><em>Blade and Soul's</em></a> 9%, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/aion"><em>Aion's</em></a> 16%, and the usual <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/lineage"><em>Lineage</em></a> cavalcade (<em>Lineage 1</em> represented 38% of sales alone with its subscriptions).<br />
<br />
While 64% of NCsoft's sales were in Korea, only 13% were in North America and 8% in Europe. The decrease in NA and EU contributions was due to "the reduction in <em>Guild Wars 2</em> package sales," according to the report. All of NCsoft's subsidiaries posted drops in sales from last quarter except for NC Taiwan.<br />

[Update: Also of note in the earnings call is the news that NCsoft's Nah Seong Chan says the company is "<a href="http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/05/12/ncsoft-is-preparing-a-guild-wars-2-expansion/">preparing an expansion pack</a>" but has yet to decide when it might launch. Very interesting news indeed as ArenaNet said as recently as March that it was <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/03/05/arenanet-not-planning-guild-wars-2-expansions-or-sequels/">not working on an expansion</a>. As the Flame and Frost living story in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a> draws to a close, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/arenanet">ArenaNet</a> is gearing up for the next step of its story delivery system. Starting on May 14th, the team will be enticing players to return to Southsun Cove, the location of the controversial <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/lost-shores/">Lost Shores</a> event.<br />

 <a href="https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/living-world-pivot-point/">A new dev blog</a> on the official site outlines what the team is looking to do with the living story: "May represents a transition: The Flame and Frost arc is now complete, and our plan calls for content to build on what came before while also kicking things off in a new direction. With that in mind, Team Spring Break first focused on the essentials: characters, story, and gameplay."<br />

In this first chapter of the new living story, players will team up with Inspector Ellen Kiel of the Lionguard as she and her allies address a tense situation between the settlers and the Consortium. Movement does not normally seem like a complicated topic in MMOs. You press forward; your character goes forward. Backward? Same deal. You can turn, and you can strafe, and you can turn <em>and</em> strafe <em>and</em> run forward if you're some kind of rebel or you want to give yourself motion sickness. Movement is always important in MMOs; you can't get into arguments about who's standing in the fire if everyone is rooted in place, after all. Since <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/WildStar/">WildStar</a></em> is promising active combat, it needs to have even more movement than normal so that you can find new and exciting ways not to stand in new and exciting sorts of fire. And the newest DevSpeak video is all about that.<br />
<br />
"That" being movement. Not new and exciting sorts of fire. It's still pretty much normal fire.<br />
<br />
Some elements will be immediately familiar to anyone who has played a video game on a computer within the past decade. Some elements are a bit more uncommon, like double-jumping or giving every class access to a quick dashing roll. And some elements, like switching positions with a target by tearing a hole in space itself, are pretty well unique. Take a look at all of them just past the break.<br />

This is not timed perfectly to coincide with what would have been the ninth anniversary of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/City-of-Heroes/">City of Heroes</a></em>. It couldn't be, honestly; trying to do so would have resulted in a worse column. There's also the simple fact that the ninth anniversary did not actually happen, the game was gone before then. Sanctifying the date will not bring the game back, nor will it assuage the fact that it's not there any longer.<br />

Despite all of that, I liked the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/04/26/players-commemorate-city-of-heroes-9th-anniversary/">thematic structure put forth on the Titan boards</a>, nine reasons for nine years. But since I'm incapable of doing things any way but the wrong way, I'm approaching this in my own style with my own nine reasons that I wish we'd had a ninth year. There's been big stuff going on with the game's narrative, sure, but it's easy to lose the thread if you're not playing the game on a regular basis. The latest developer video from <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ArenaNet/">ArenaNet</a> is meant to address this, with narrative designers <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Angel-McCoy/">Angel McCoy</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Scott-McGough/">Scott McGough</a> talking about the events of the Flame and Frost storyline and how the game's previous stories are leading into future developments.<br />

The crux of Flame and Frost is the allegiance between the Dredge and the Flame Legion, with the former lacking in magical artillery and the latter being cut off from traditional Charr machinery. That alliance led to the capture of civilians, which in turn led to a push by two young heroes to free former prisoners... which in turn has led to a population move to an unexpected place. <div>With <a href="https://www.guildwars2.com/en/"><em>Guild Wars 2's</em></a> first multi-month living story arc drawing to a close, I thought this might be a good time to do a little bit of reflection on how the living story is treating <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2"><em>Guild Wars 2</em></a> so far. Sure, what we've seen so far isn't necessarily indicative of the way things are always going to be, but it's a good starting point. (In fact, it's our only starting point. Unless, of course, you like rampant and foundless speculation as a starting point. This is, after all, the internet.)<br />
<br />
To expand the conversation a bit, I think we're including holiday updates as part of the living story. It's seasonal, but it also fits into the grander scheme of providing changing content to keep the world moving and to keep players engaged. That means that what we've seen to date includes all of Flame and Frost, Wintersday, Halloween, and the Lost Shores event. Also, I guess the Super Adventure Box? I mean, it's returning and it had a lore tie-in and stuff. Maybe? May has just gotten started and already <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ArenaNet/">ArenaNet</a> has another content update scheduled for <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/guild-wars-2">Guild Wars 2</a></em>. Called <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/The-Secret-of-Southsun/">The Secret of Southsun</a>, this <a href="http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/may-14-2013/">May 14th update</a> comes right on the heels of the final installment of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/flame-and-frost/">Flame and Frost</a> and extends the episodic content that began with that first series. This time, the adventures focus on troubles brewing on the tropical island of Southsun Cove where players must quell the rising violence and discover the secret that hides there.<br />
<br />
The Secret of Southsun also brings <s>an end to culling in the rest of the world (it was previously <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/03/14/its-the-end-of-culling-as-we-know-it-in-guild-wars-2-wvw/">only disabled in World vs. World</a>) and introduces two</s> an improvement to WvW -- traps <s>and an improved award system.</s> Traps will remove supply from enemies. <s>and players will gain reward for a wider range of activities in the Mists, such as destroying siege weapons, escort missions, and repairing walls</s>. Players can also try their hand at a new crab toss mini-game.<br />

<div>As the clock ticks down to the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/04/06/wings-over-atreia-exclusive-aion-4-0-launches-in-june/">June release</a> of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/aion">Aion's</a></em> big 4.0 update, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/ncsoft">NCsoft</a> is ramping up the event machine. First up: an all-new RvR event dubbed the Guardian General Showdown. Running from May 8th, 2013, through May 22nd, 2013, this event will take place in Jotun Square in Silentera Canyon (necessitating that Daevas be level 50 and over to participate). There, each faction will fight to defeat the Guardian General of the enemy while simultaneously protecting its own.<br />
<br />
The Guardian Generals -- Furious Dux for the Elyos and Furious Stalari for the Asmodians -- will spawn support mobs to join in the fray every 30 seconds. Once one general is defeated, both (and all accompanying mobs) will disappear and the 12-hour countdown to repawn begins. The league that contributes the most to defeating the other faction's Guardian General first will earn the Guardian General's Treasure Chest, which will provide every member with one mithril medal, one special manastone box (grade II), and one major ancient crown.<br />

I spend a lot of time playing around with theories about lore. I can't do a whole lot more in regard to playing with <a href="http://www.wildstar-online.com"><em>WildStar</em></a> at the moment, so that works out well anyway, but I do enjoy throwing out theories and seeing what sticks. Sometimes that invalidates earlier theories I had in the process, but that's the business.<br />
<br />
This week I don't want to invalidate something I already speculated upon but build upon a previous column. People seemed to like my musings on what the deal is with Nexus, but even as I was writing that column, I noticed one screaming problem: The Luminai don't fit.<br />
<br />
Obviously the Luminai are kind of a big deal, what with their addition marking the creation of the Dominion and all that. These guys are important, and their creation was obviously intentional. Last time we met, we chatted about <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/04/20/wings-over-atreia-a-guide-to-elyos-spy-quests-in-morheim/">the spy quests</a> that enticed Elyos to infiltrate Morheim. But even though Morheim is where <em><a href="http://na.aiononline.com/en/">Aion's</a></em> spy questing starts for the light-winged, it is certainly not where that questing ends! As Daevas move along the leveling curve, more opportunities <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/07/wings-over-atreia-once-more-into-the-rift-my-friends/">to rift</a> into new enemy lands arise. However, unlike the lower-level zone's quests that focused more on introducing players to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/10/04/wings-over-atreia-to-rift-or-not-to-rift-that-is-the-question/">rifting</a> in <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/aion/"><em>Aion</em></a>, Beluslan spy quests are predominantly specific chains leading players through story arcs and toward a determined goal.<br />

There may not be any rush to complete the spy quests now that Daevas of any level can travel through the rifts, but anyone wanting to get real use out of the resulting rewards before they become obsolete will want jump and and do the quests before moving on to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/09/13/wings-over-atreia-first-impressions-of-the-assault/">Balaurea</a>.
