It seems that it really wasn't too long ago that I was filling in the time between night classes by boning up on video game news. I was drinking up all of the hot up-and-comers, such as <a href="http://www.ageofconan.com/"><em>Age of Conan</em></a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/warhammer-online"><em>Warhammer Online</em></a>, when I caught word that the maker of<em> Diablo</em> was trying to do the same thing again, only more online, in 3-D, and with a cool modern-day/futuristic/horror vibe.<br />
<br />
There's no better way to put it than to say that from the start, <em>Hellgate: London</em> looked all kinds of cool. Oh sure, you can scoff now with your perfect 20/20 hindsight, but I'm betting that more than a few of you thought the same with me around that time. <em>Diablo </em>but with guns and an online persistence -- how could we not be intrigued? One of my most vivid memories was being torn between the idea of buying a lifetime subscription deal for $150 (again, this was before the free-to-play era, but also before the era of us spending the same money on alpha access. I'm just saying that you can't judge me.).<br />
<br />
I didn't buy the lifetime sub, if you were wondering, but I did play. I even enjoyed <em>Hellgate: London</em> for a month or so, although something about it never quite clicked with me. It was only after I bailed that I watched with horror that one of the most infamous chapters of video game disasters took place. It's kind of like when you look at pictures of an earthquake and say to anyone near, "I was just standing there a week ago..."<br />
<br />
From its giddy heights of pre-launch hype to the crash simply known as being "Flagshipped" to its subsequent resurrections (yes, plural), <em>Hellgate </em>is a fascinating tale of a good idea, a terrible launch, corporate scapegoating, and improbable survival.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/09/13/the-game-archaeologist-how-hellgate-survived-being-flagshipped/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Game Archaeologist: How Hellgate survived being Flagshipped</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/09/13/the-game-archaeologist-how-hellgate-survived-being-flagshipped/">The Game Archaeologist: How Hellgate survived being Flagshipped</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 13 Sep 2014 12:00:00 EST. Maybe I'm alone in this, but my jaw just dropped when I came home this past week to see that Massively posted the news that <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/shadowbane/"><em>Shadowbane</em></a> is <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/04/23/changyou-plans-to-bring-shadowbane-back-in-china/">coming back to life</a>. Granted, it's only going to happen in China, but still, that's pretty incredible. <em>Shadowbane's</em> been in the ground for three years now, and if I had to pick an MMO that deserved resurrection, this particular one would be farthest from my mind (no offense if you liked the game; it's just that there are so many others that are even more worthy).<br />
<br />
But how can this not give you hope? Many of us have lost an MMO we loved or at least had a decked-out character populating the character select screen, and the thought of that game coming back against all odds is a goosebump-rising one. It may also smack of justice served, as some MMOs fail not because of faulty gameplay but because of mismanagement by the studio, complex legal wrangling, or bad marketing.<br />
<br />
Today let's look at a few examples of dead MMOs that were brought back to life and what this may mean for the future of the industry. Zombie MMOs! Not, you know, MMOs with zombies.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/01/the-game-archaeologist-when-dead-mmos-come-back-to-life/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Game Archaeologist: When dead MMOs come back to life</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/05/01/the-game-archaeologist-when-dead-mmos-come-back-to-life/">The Game Archaeologist: When dead MMOs come back to life</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 01 May 2012 15:00:00 EST. Like a digital phoenix rising from the ashes of a failed company, <a href="http://www.mythos-europe.com/en/index.html"><em>Mythos</em></a> has come back from the dead to finally launch. Under the care of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/hanbitsoft/">HanbitSoft</a> and <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/frogster/">Frogster</a>, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/flagship/">Flagship's</a> former <a href="http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/games/d2/"><em>Diablo</em></a>-style MMO has been retooled and finally pushed out of the doors in Europe.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/mythos/"><em>Mythos Europe's</em></a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Arne-Freund/">Arne Freund</a> is understandably excited: <em>"We are very pleased with our rapidly growing community, whose support shows us that they, like us, have become really invested in the world of </em>Mythos<em>. We will continue to put all of our effort into supporting the game after release and to provide players with enough monsters to hack and slash their way through in the years to come. Talking of which, I've got a grudge to settle..."</em><br />
<br />
<em>Mythos</em> is free-to-play with optional item shop purchases and is available in five languages: English, German, French, Polish and Turkish. In addition to the digital download, there's a retail box version that includes an item voucher for a variety of exclusive goodies.<br />
<br />
Get into the action <a href="http://www.mythos-europe.com/en/index.html">by downloading it from the official site</a>, but before you do that, make sure to hit the jump and watch the launch trailer -- it'll get you pumped up for sure!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/04/28/mythos-europe-launches/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Mythos Europe launches!</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/04/28/mythos-europe-launches/">Mythos Europe launches!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 28 Apr 2011 11:00:00 EST. </a></div>
How exactly does a well-funded studio composed of <a href="http://blizzard.com">Blizzard</a> veterans end up creating one of the more spectacular failures in recent gaming history? That's a question that <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/6281/bill_roper_reflections_on_hellgate.php?page=1">Gamasutra</a> attempts to answer in a new interview with former <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagship_Studios">Flagship</a> (and <a href="http://crypticstudios.com">Cryptic</a>) CEO <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/bill-roper">Bill Roper</a>. <br />
<br />
The debacle that was <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellgate:_London"><em>Hellgate: London</em></a> stemmed mainly from over-ambition, Roper says, coupled with the lack of capital necessary to support the don't-release-til-it's-ready mentality that much of the staff experienced at <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/blizzard">Blizzard</a>. "<em>There was always the support there [at Blizzard] to say, 'You know what? If that's what you need to make this game great, then that's what we'll get for you. We'll figure it out.' It's obviously very different when you are an independent company, right, and not owned by somebody</em>."<br />
<br />
The interview also touches on Flagship's involvement with <a href="http://www.mythos.com/"><em>Mythos</em></a> as well as Roper's experiences dealing with the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/hellgate-london"><em>Hellgate</em></a> fallout and extensive (and often personal) fan backlash. "<em>It went from 'I didn't like your game' or 'I don't think your company makes good games' to the personal assault level</em>," he says.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/02/07/bill-roper-reflects-on-hellgate/">Bill Roper reflects on Hellgate</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 07 Feb 2011 12:00:00 EST. With the holiday shopping season upon us, gamers are hot for great deals and cheap entertainment. As my wife's logic goes, if something is 80% off, you buy it, even if you didn't really want it in the first place. It's the principle of the thing, an automatic 80% dose of smug satisfaction at being a savvy shopper!<br />
<br />
Not every deal should be pursued, however. Although most video games are playable for years and decades after release, not so with MMOs that have had their service shuttered. It's recently come to my attention that even though these games are completely unplayable -- rendered nothing more than a few cents' worth of a DVD and cardboard packaging -- online retailers haven't kept up with the times and keep these products on the virtual shelves long past their expiration dates.<br />
<br />
That's not to say you should avoid these products at all cost, because studies show that a large percentage of Massively readers have a sick and twisted sense of humor. What would make a better gift this Christmas than a multi-million-dollar-budget MMO that died a horrible death years before?<br />

Considering <a href="http://www.mythos.com"><em>Mythos'</em></a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/21/mythos-is-dead-but-its-memory-lives-on/">stormy</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/03/mythos-lives/">post</a>-<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/05/07/were-assured-that-mythos-is-coming-back/">Flagship</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/08/15/mythos-teaser-and-closed-beta-registration-page-emerges/">past</a> and its relatively low profile over the past half year, we were pleased to see the team at Redbana <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/06/23/redbana-releases-mythos-screens-relaunches-website/">unveil a website revamp last month</a>, complete with a slew of vibrant new screenshots to tease the upcoming closed beta. The infrastructure revealed in the images suggests that the game has come a long way since <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/12/01/massivelys-interview-with-mythos-gearing-up-for-launch/">we last checked in with the team</a>; although many players might once have pigeon-holed <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/mythos/"><em>Mythos</em></a> as "just another <a href="http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/"><em>Diablo</em></a> clone," it's now maturing into a hybrid MMORPG that seems to have as much in common with <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com">Blizzard's other fantasy game</a> as with the click-fests of yesteryear.<br />
<br />
Curious, we commandeered the team at Redbana in order to ask about the progress of the game. Meet up with us after the break as we discuss the transition to Redbana, overcoming the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/diablo/"><em>Diablo</em></a> stigma, camera perspectives, map travel, character customization, and the likelihood that <em>Mythos</em> will be free-to-play. Oh, and did I mention you can play <a href="http://www.mythos.com/page/Races.aspx">satyrs and cyclopes</a>?!<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/07/15/still-clicking-our-exclusive-interview-with-the-mythos-dev-team/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Still clicking: Our exclusive interview with the Mythos dev team</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2010/07/15/still-clicking-our-exclusive-interview-with-the-mythos-dev-team/">Still clicking: Our exclusive interview with the Mythos dev team</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 15 Jul 2010 15:00:00 EST. When it comes to space combat, even moreso when you can decloak with enough firepower to wipe out an opponent before they realize what's happening and disappear just as fast. However, will this stealth-focused gameplay be viable in the tactical PvP of <a href="http://www.startrekonline.com"><em>Star Trek Online</em></a>? We can't say for sure yet as there hasn't been much in the way of in-game combat footage, but the info they've released on this latest Klingon Empire warship, the <a href="http://www.startrekonline.com/ships/voquv">Vo'Quv Class</a>, suggests this type of gameplay <em>might</em> just be possible. <br /><br />Of course the ship profile is heavy on the lore elements we're sure <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-trek-online"><em>Star Trek Online</em></a> fans will want to sink their teeth into, but the specifications released for the Vo'Quv Class offensive and defensive systems list a "Class 7 Cloaking Device" backed up by a complement of disruptor beams which can fire in any direction taking out enemy shields, while multiple torpedo launchers finish the job.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/07/27/star-trek-online-unveils-cloaking-klingon-warship-voquv-class/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Star Trek Online unveils cloaking Klingon warship: Vo'Quv Class</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/07/27/star-trek-online-unveils-cloaking-klingon-warship-voquv-class/">Star Trek Online unveils cloaking Klingon warship: Vo'Quv Class</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 27 Jul 2009 10:00:00 EST. It's down! It's up! It's down! It's... sideways?<br /><br />That's the story for the ever growing saga of <a href="http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/Games/Pages/HellgateLondon.aspx"><em>Hellgate: London</em></a> in a nutshell. This time, however, it's not coming back and there should be no more rumors that it is coming back. HanbitSoft, the Asian publisher of the game, has <a href="http://www.gamecyte.com/hanbitsoft-admits-hellgate-london-will-not-receive-us-updates">finally clarified to GameCyte</a> that they do not have the publishing rights to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate-london"><em>Hellgate: London</em></a> in the United States or Europe, just in Asia, excluding Japan.<br /><br />Currently those rights are held by <a href="http://www.namcobandaigames.com/">Namco-Bandai</a>, who have made the decision to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/02/02/hellgates-us-eu-servers-and-website-slam-shut/">shut down the Hellgate servers as of February 1st</a>.<br /><br />So it's not coming back. Even though it will still have press releases in English and have updates being made by a <a href="http://www.redbanaus.com/">US developer</a>, it's not coming back. However, if you really want to play, we suggest moving to Asia, as it will still be going strong over there.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/03/05/hellgate-london-is-dead-for-real-this-time/">Hellgate: London is dead, for real this time</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 05 Mar 2009 19:00:00 EST. The game's servers and the official website have poofed, and stranded fans will now turn their attention towards <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/01/26/hellgate-london-staying-alive-through-free-to-play/">HanbitSoft's grand plans</a> to revive the troubled title in a free-to-play format, complete with new content and gameplay changes. <a href="http://hanbitgame-espresso.blogspot.com/2009/01/hgld-updates.html">HanbitSoft's press release</a> did not specify a date for the re-launch, nor did it say which territories it will be servicing, so we're looking at a bit of downtime for the moment.<br /><br />Scott from the Pumping Irony blog <a href="http://pumpingirony.net/2009/02/01/hellgate-london-rip/">has written about his time</a> spent online during <em>Hellgate</em>'s final hours. Plenty of players turned up to see the "end of the world", and many donated their soon-to-be-worthless in-game currency to the War Drive NPC, granting buffs to the masses. Scott's transcript of the last few moments of chat are an indication of the kind of solidarity and sadness that the most faithful fans displayed as their world was crumbling around them. It's all on HanbitSoft now to save these folks from their <em>Hellgate</em>-less existence.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2009/02/02/hellgates-us-eu-servers-and-website-slam-shut/">Hellgate's US/EU servers and website slam shut</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 02 Feb 2009 09:00:00 EST. If you haven't read many (or any) of these often interesting interviews just yet, we highly recommend giving this one a chance. Not only does Bill speak about his time with Blizzard, but also the essential lessons he's taken from being the CEO of Flagship and how he plans on applying them to his <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/09/27/first-hints-emerge-concerning-champions-onlines-omega-system/">work at Cryptic</a>.<br /> <br /> Attentive readers will notice that the interview also hints at the progress of <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Champions-Online/">Champions Online</a></em>. With Bill discussing his interest in implementing the crafting system, which isn't in the game yet, but also mentioning that the title is pretty far along. Most MMOs in development experience a delay or two, but by the sounds of it we may actually get to play this one on time.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/bill-roper-featured-in-champions-onlines-newest-meet-the-team/">Bill Roper featured in Champions Online's newest Meet the Team</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 12 Nov 2008 16:00:00 EST. If you've been wondering just exactly what happened with <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/Flagship">Flagship Studios</a> over the past year or so, then you should really <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3169356">give a listen to the thoughts of Bill Roper</a>, founder of Flagship. The poor guy pretty much spills his guts to 1up.com's Jeff Green about everything that happened and is happening with the people and projects from Flagship. It's a surprisingly lengthy interview, clocking in at eight pages. It's totally worth the read if you want a gritty insight into just how much went into not only <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate-london/">Hellgate: London</a></em> and <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/mythos/">Mythos</a></em>, but the team that put those titles together.<br /><br />It's not often that we get such a wide and deep look into a developer. We're counting ourselves lucky that Bill seems to be such a open and forthcoming guy, otherwise we might have never <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/hanbitsoft-ceo-claims-ownership-rights-to-hellgate-london-and-my/">known anything</a> <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/03/mythos-lives/">beyond rumors and speculation</a>. If everyone previously involved with Flagship lands on their feet, it will be in no small part due to Bill Roper's efforts.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/08/18/flagship-studios-founder-finally-speaks/">Flagship Studios' founder finally speaks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 18 Aug 2008 17:00:00 EST. It wasn't long ago that Max Schaefer, a Flagship Studios cofounder and operations chief, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/flagship-holds-forth-on-lessons-learned/">admitted to mistakes that the company encountered</a> with <a href="http://www.hellgatelondon.com/"><em>Hellgate: London</em>.</a> Now, in a strange twist of irony the players are learning firsthand the lessons of Flagship's failures. The <a href="http://www.mythos.com/"><em>Mythos</em></a> beta ended as it was <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/mythos-beta-is-shutting-down-tonight/">placed on hiatus last night</a>, possibly being the last time players will grace the world of Uld. Not long after that the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/mythos-hellgate-forums-scheduled-to-die-tonight/"><em>Mythos</em> beta forums went dark</a> but before they did Max Schaefer left a wonderful message to the community. <br /><br /><em>"They say it's not so much the destination as it is the journey that's important. We're really hoping that's the case around here these days. I can't really believe I'm writing a post like this, but here we are faced with the unpleasant task of taking a hiatus from this crazy project. Unlike most games, Mythos has been running with our testing community for almost its whole life. I really feel like we've all done this together. And despite this bump in the road, I think we've succeeded wildly. This is undoubtedly the best game community I've ever seen. This is the best game development team in the world, in both Seattle and San Francisco. The things we've learned here, and with you all, will be with us forever.<br /><br /></em><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/19/max-schaefer-thanks-mythos-community/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Max Schaefer thanks Mythos community</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/19/max-schaefer-thanks-mythos-community/">Max Schaefer thanks Mythos community</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 19 Jul 2008 21:00:00 EST. Flagship Studios has announced that active <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate-london"><em>Hellgate: London</em></a> subscribers will not be billed nor will any new subscriptions be accepted. Normally, this would be welcoming news to players, but it's not because there is a chance that <em>Hellgate: London</em> could shutdown operations. Staff went first, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/mythos-hellgate-forums-scheduled-to-die-tonight/">and the forums are going next</a>, tonight both the official <a href="http://www.mythos.com/"><em>Mythos</em></a> and <em>Hellgate: London</em> forums will be pulled offline at 12AM. <br /></div>
<br />Due to financial circumstances Flagship Studios has come under hardships and had to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/11/flagship-studios-confirms-staff-layoffs/">layoff almost its entire staff.</a> Ping0, an online services subsidiary was also affected. The <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/hanbitsoft/">fallout is a huge confusing mess</a>, and Flagship used the rights to its intellectual property as collateral on loans for operating expenses. Now that Flagship is more or less collapsing HanbitSoft is stepping in trying to reign in both intellectual properties, <em>Hellgate: London</em> and <em>Mythos</em>, due to Flagship Studios defaulting on their original agreement.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/hellgate-london-subscriptions-suspended/">Hellgate: London subscriptions suspended</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 18 Jul 2008 19:30:00 EST. The woes continue at Flagship Studios. It was just announced that the <em>Mythos</em> beta will shutdown tonight. The official time slotted for its cease of operations is at July 18th, 2008 at 11:59 CST. Community manager Tiggs left the message on<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/mythos-hellgate-forums-scheduled-to-die-tonight/"> the forums which are also due to close</a> at the same time. <br /><br /><em>"We, the ancient elders of Uld are issuing this warning to all citizens and travelers. Hurry! The great darkness that once plagued Uld is returning. Everyone is ordered to close down their shops and prepare. We predict the when night is at its peak the darkness will arrive. The ancient elders of Uld will be leaving immediately in order to preserve the lore of this wonderful world. Citizens please prepare thyself and know that the elders will be back from their travels some day."</em><br /><br />Flagship Studios claims that the <em>Mythos</em> beta is going on a hiatus. That's pretty vague term associated with the closure of a beta that stems from a <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/hanbitsoft-barbs-flagship-studios/">financial and legal crisis</a> at a development studio. It does signal a possible return later, and we do hope <em>Mythos</em> continues development in the near feature and sees a well-deserved release. Lead developer on <em>Mythos</em>, Travis Baldree<a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/lead-dev-travis-baldree-updates-mythos-community-and-uncertainty/"> recently posted on the forums</a> expressing his thanks and gratitude along with his uncertainty for how long the <em>Mythos</em> beta would remain operational. HanbitSoft is making it known that they are preparing for a legal battle. A lawsuit against Bill Roper and the founding directors of Flagship Studios is already underway. HanbitSoft will also be visiting Comerica bank next week in order to secure to the Global intellectual property rights to <em>Hellgate: London</em>. HanbitSoft also stated, <em>"Flagship not only lacked effort, but were only looking for personal gain. Firing all of the Flagship employees in order to protect the personal interests of its founding members only shows how selfish and irresponsible they are." </em>HanbitSoft owns a 9.5% stake in Flagship Studios and went on record to state they tried to bailout Flagship Studios numerous times.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/18/hanbitsoft-barbs-flagship-studios/">HanbitSoft barbs Flagship Studios</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 18 Jul 2008 17:00:00 EST. Staff at PingO, an online services subsidiary felt the impact too. To help shed some new light <a href="http://forums.mythos.com/showthread.php?t=20722">there is a response</a> from Travis Baldree, Lead developer on <em>Mythos.</em><br /></div>
<br />In a post entitled, "<a href="http://forums.mythos.com/showthread.php?t=20722">A Fond Farewell</a>" Baldree espouses gratitude to the <em>Mythos</em> beta community, the close relationship between employees, and does not disclose any specific details on the future of <em>Mythos</em>. Baldree is also unsure of how long <em>Mythos</em> in its current beta form will remain operational, but claims he will inform the community when possible. While Baldree did hint at reopening beta testing in the future, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/hanbitsoft-ceo-claims-ownership-rights-to-hellgate-london-and-my/">the question regarding on who owns the intellectual property and rights</a> is probably going to be decided in a legal battle. Other developers that worked on <em>Mythos</em> also posted their farewells and appreciation to the beta community in the same thread. (We have copied Baldree's post after the jump in case the forums shutdown.)<br /><br />[<a href="http://www.warcry.com/news/view/85042-Mythos-Beta-Test-Longevity-Unknown">Via Warcry</a>]<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/lead-dev-travis-baldree-updates-mythos-community-and-uncertainty/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Future of Mythos beta uncertain </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/lead-dev-travis-baldree-updates-mythos-community-and-uncertainty/">Future of Mythos beta uncertain </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 16 Jul 2008 08:30:00 EST. Seeing any hard working development studio with loads of potential go belly-up isn't easy considering all the real people affected from the fallout. Bill Roper hasn't made a public announcement yet, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/11/flagship-studios-confirms-staff-layoffs/">but the closure of Flagship Studios was confirmed</a>. What will happen to <a href="http://www.mythos.com/"><em>Mythos</em></a> and <em><a href="http://www.hellgatelondon.com/">Hellgate:London</a> </em>is a question that remains on many minds. The HanbitSoft CEO, Kim Ki-young chips away at that answer in a response to <a href="http://thegames.co.kr/main/view_test.php?news_code=26461">an inquiry by TheGames.co.kr</a> seeking clarification about the situation surrounding <em>Hellgate:London</em> and <em>Mythos</em>. <br /></div>
<br /><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/11/flagship-studios-confirms-staff-layoffs/">In a translation provided by <em>Hellgate</em> Guru</a>, Kim Ki-young of HanbitSoft states: <em>"If we can take intellectual property rights of relevant products from Flagship Studios, we have confidence to develop the games ourselves based on T3 Entertainment's advanced technology' and 'we believe we can service fresh and interesting games to online gamers by getting intellectual property rights and development. This crisis could be an opportunity for us."</em><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/hanbitsoft-ceo-claims-ownership-rights-to-hellgate-london-and-my/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>HanbitSoft CEO claims ownership rights to Hellgate:London and Mythos</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/hanbitsoft-ceo-claims-ownership-rights-to-hellgate-london-and-my/">HanbitSoft CEO claims ownership rights to Hellgate:London and Mythos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 14 Jul 2008 21:30:00 EST. <br /> Frequent displeasure remains constantly expressed in our <em>Hellgate:London</em> post threads. If <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/11/why-exactly-is-hellgate-london-so-bad/">you are still looking</a> for an admittance of failures from someone at Flagship Studios, Max Schaefer, operations chief and co-founder recently <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/flagship-holds-forth-on-lessons-learned/">acknowledged mistakes were made and lessons learned</a>. The main one being the grandiosity in the overall vision for the game and an early launch that more or less turned <em>Hellgate:London</em> into a recovery process. Still there is a fanbase, and it was well received in South Korea. The developers are working hard, and hopefully with enough patches it will prove to be a better experience for those willing to give it a second chance. In a lengthy interview with <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net">eurogamer.net</a> he explains how that game tried to be too many things to too many people, and ended up being rushed to market without being '<em>kept in the oven long enough.</em>' They simply took too much on for a fledgling studio without any existing technologies to cope with.<br /><br />Flagship is now working on a brand new MMO, the free-to-play microtransaction-driven <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/mythos/"><em>Mythos</em></a>, which is nothing like as 'hardcore' as <em>Hellgate</em>. Resemblances to the likes of <em>Diablo</em> or <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/world-of-warcraft/"><em>WoW</em></a> are justified by Schaefer in terms of the <em>relief</em> they give players; the idea is to cultivate a sense of 'familiar novelty', in which the gameplay is comfortable enough to welcome a player in and get them settled, but innovative enough to excite and keep interest.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/flagship-holds-forth-on-lessons-learned/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Flagship holds forth on lessons learned</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/07/07/flagship-holds-forth-on-lessons-learned/">Flagship holds forth on lessons learned</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 07 Jul 2008 13:00:00 EST. We're not sure whether it happened before <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/05/interview-with-flagships-max-schaefer/">our interview with Max Schaefer</a> or after they implemented <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/05/29/a-first-look-at-mythos-overworld/">the fairly ambitious Overworld</a>, it's hard to say exactly. In any case, we're aware that not everybody is as excited about the title as we are, which is why we recommend taking a look at <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=158990&amp;page=2">Eurogamer's new glowing hands-on report of the game</a>.<br /><br />Among <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/mythos"><em>Mythos'</em></a> many design choices, the author seems most impressed with the way Flagship has managed to make even the simplest of level one fireballs feel both satisfying and significant. For our part, we're still baffled that they plan to offer this as a free title, because the spit shine and polish they've been putting on this thing is more typically befitting of a full retail release. Then again, <a href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com"><em>World of Warcraft</em></a> was <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/24/world-of-warcraft-originally-planned-as-free-to-play/">planned as a free title once upon a time</a>...<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/06/25/mythos-wins-over-another-fan-in-new-hands-on/">Mythos wins over another fan in new hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Wed, 25 Jun 2008 17:00:00 EST. We all know that <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate--london/">Hellgate: London</a></em> didn't exactly have the best of launches; actually it had a very terrible launch. The biggest problem was probably all the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/02/19/turpstervision-london-is-hell/">bugs in the game</a>, which more often than not were responsible for regular client crashes among other game-ending glitches. This sort of thing tends to kill games forever, but <em>Hellgate: London</em> has been sticking it out over the past several months and things have actually gotten better -- at least as far as the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/02/22/information-on-hellgate-londons-next-three-updates-dished-out/">bugs and additional content goes</a>. So now <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/FlagshipStudios/">Flagship Studios</a> is hoping players will come back and give the game a second (or possibly third) chance.<br /><br />From what we've heard and seen of these updates, it sounds like Flagship isn't pulling any legs here -- the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/hellgate-london-solo-players-get-huge-patch/">game really has gotten better</a>. Even so, we really have to wonder if that's enough to bring previously-scorned players back to the game, as many of them have no doubt moved on since last year. Maybe it would be wise to drop the price on the game a tad and offer some sort of incentive for players to come back or try the game for the first time. <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/Mythos-/">Mythos </a></em>might be the perfect conduit to spotlight these <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/05/interview-with-flagships-max-schaefer/">new improvements</a>; if Flagship can think up a clever way to do it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/hellgate-london-would-like-a-second-chance/">Hellgate: London would like a second chance</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 10 Apr 2008 09:00:00 EST. On their latest video podcast, the folks at 1UP had a chat with <a href="http://massively.com/tag/flagship-studios/">Flagship Studios'</a> COO and executive producer of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/mythos/"><em>Mythos</em></a>, Max Schaefer. <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3167244">He talks a little about <em>Mythos'</em> <em>raison d'&ecirc;tre</em></a> as a sort of technology demo for last year's action MMO, <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate-london/"><em>Hellgate: London</em></a>. It's taken on a life of its own since then to become the kinder, lighter action MMO, brighter and more just plain fun. In keeping with their more social goal for Mythos, there is full guild support, and they'll be adding in email, minigames, group-oriented content and, yes, an item mall. Following the lead of the Asian casual game market, <em>Mythos</em> is free to download, free to play, and though you may want to buy certain things to help you along the way at their item mall (though nothing overpowering -- you won't find the best swords or armor at the item mall), you will be able to see and do everything without paying a penny.<br /><br />Schaefer calls this new philosophy "Triple-A casual" -- top flight production values using the latest tech, but keeping development time short and focusing on the fun. We've been hearing a lot about <em>Mythos</em> lately; here's hoping they start their open beta soon so that we can all play.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/04/05/interview-with-flagships-max-schaefer/">Interview with Flagship's Max Schaefer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Sat, 05 Apr 2008 16:00:00 EST. <em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate--london">Hellgate: London</a></em> players who've had their copy of the game sitting all <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/02/19/turpstervision-london-is-hell/">alone</a> on a shelf somewhere may want to dust off their discs, because the 1.2 patch for non-subscribers is heading their way. The big reason this matters is mostly because the last patch that single (re: non-subscribing) players got was the <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/12/01/more-patches-incoming-for-hellgate-london/">0.6 patch</a> back in December. Well, that's not the only reason, the other is that this patch will bring with it a metric ton of <a href="http://www.hellgatelondon.com/patches/120">updates</a>, including lots of bug fixes. We're glad to hear it, because the game looks like it could be pretty enjoyable -- if not for the amount of fun-ending issues.<br /><br /><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/FlagshipStudios/">Flagship Studios</a> have the patch in their final Q&amp;A state and are readying a beta version of it for players to try out sometime this week. The patch itself contains all the content and updates that the multiplayer version of the patch had -- so essentially it's the same patch as the one <a href="http://www.hellgatelondon.com/underground/patch-1-2-released-live-servers">released</a> on March 17th.<br /><br />We sincerely hope these patches keep on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/02/22/information-on-hellgate-londons-next-three-updates-dished-out/">coming</a>, because with every improvement the game receives we're finding it harder to resist a summertime purchase out of sheer curiosity.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/hellgate-london-solo-players-get-huge-patch/">Hellgate: London solo players get huge patch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 31 Mar 2008 17:00:00 EST. Do you dig up as much information as you can on the developers, producer and designers involved in up and coming games? Do you even pay any attention at all?<br /><br />I'll be honest - I picked up <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/star-wars-galaxies/">Star Wars Galaxies</a></span> based on the licence alone. While I've been a gamer since my Uncle gave me a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zx_spectrum">ZX Spectrum</a> as a child, I didn't know anything about the people behind <em>Galaxies</em>. I had heard about <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/everquest/">Everquest</a></span> of course - I wasn't stupid after all - but <em>Galaxies </em>was my first MMO, and I was a noob in every sense of the word. I didn't know anything about the designers, the developers, and I didn't even think to check up on them.<br /><br />I was a little more aware when I came round to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/world-of-warcraft/"><span style="font-style: italic;">World of Warcraft</span></a>. I was, and still am, a big <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.blizzard.com/diablo2/">Diablo 2</a></span><a href="http://www.blizzard.com/diablo2/">,</a> fan, so I knew who Blizzard were. I hadn't picked up <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.blizzard.com/war3/">Warcraft 3</a></span> when it came out, due to the PC I had t the time not being to run it, but I knew that it'd been a huge commercial and critical success for Blizzard, so I knew that it was a safe bet. Plus, it was taking the world by storm already, so it was a bit of a no-brainer. <br /><br />Maybe I'm just older and wiser now, or maybe the information is just easier to get a hold of, but I pay more attention to the people actually making the game that I'm interested in - I thought this week, we could have a look at some of the names you should be aware of.<p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/01/24/behind-the-curtain-whats-in-a-name/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Behind the Curtain: What's in a name?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2008/01/24/behind-the-curtain-whats-in-a-name/">Behind the Curtain: What's in a name?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Thu, 24 Jan 2008 17:30:00 EST. Today we bring you another screenshot from the upcoming <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate-london/"><em>Hellgate: London</em></a><em> </em><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/tag/stonehenge">Stonehenge</a> expansionfrom reader Ghen. Here we get to meet Gargantua, one of the beasties you might encounter in Stonehenge. Though the UI hides them (and <em>Hellgate </em>has no option to remove its UI), Gargantua has large "mace-like" hands that he swings at you -- as if he didn't look scary enough without the threat of physical violence.<br /><br />Do you have any ominous images of monsters from your favorite game? Send 'em our way (and for holiday shots, don't forget our <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/12/17/massively-holiday-postcards/">holiday postcard contest</a>!), so we can feature your screenshot and story for tomorrow's <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/one-shots/">One Shots</a>! It's easy to participate -- just send your screenshots and stories to <a href="mailto:oneshots@massively.com">oneshots@massively.com</a>.<br /><br />

It's supposed to be good, clean, monster-killing fun <em>Diablo</em> style, with random customizable dungeons (as in, ask for a solo dungeon and you got it, or ask for a group dungeon for your level, and you got it) and lots of fun spec choices and loot. I've played a bit of <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/dungeon-runners"><em>Dungeon Runners</em></a>, and enjoyed it, but as fun as it is, it still sticks a little too closely to MMO conventions, and it seems like <em>Mythos</em> just might be the simple hack-and-slash refresher to the growing ever-more-complicated MMO genre.<br /><br />Unfortunately, the game is still in invite-only beta, but as we reported the other day, invites are getting spread around pretty fast, so your chance to check it out should be coming around soon. In the meantime, <a href="http://www.mythos.com/">Flagship is accepting signups</a> on their site. As we said before, it's not clear how the microtransactions they plan will work, but from everything we've heard about it, the free-to-play part of <em>Mythos</em> is more than worth a look.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Bildo claims in our comments that he's the one that turned everyone onto <em>Mythos</em>, and <a href="http://bildos.blogspot.com/2007/10/mythos-update.html">he's got a good writeup</a>, too. Plus, he's apparently getting more beta invites soon, so we make nice!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/11/02/mythos-buzz-and-beta-invites/">Mythos buzz and beta invites</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Fri, 02 Nov 2007 13:15:00 EST. If you're anticipating <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/category/hellgate-london/"><em>Hellgate: London</em></a> amidst its <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/24/flagship-responds-to-the-hell-gate-london-eula-adware-debacle/">recent controversy</a>, and want to find out more about the game, why not just ask the developers? 1UP.com <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3164027">has posted news</a> that Xfire is hosting a live chat with a team from <em>Hellgate</em> developer Flagship Studios. Listed on the Xfire site, the developers participating in the event will be:<br />
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/16/bill-roper-of-flagship-on-the-sci-fi-trend-in-gaming/">Bill Roper</a>, CEO Flagship Studios</li>
    <li>Aletheia Simonson, Art Producer</li>
    <li>Bill Manegold, Game Programmer</li>
    <li>Amir Ebrahimi, Graphics Programmer</li>
    <li>Guy Somberg, Audio and Gameplay Programmer</li>
</ul>
To be in with a chance to talk to them, <a href="http://www.xfire.com/cms/xf_hellgate/">visit Xfire's website</a> and enter your email address. If you're lucky enough to be selected, you'll receive an email from Xfire giving you the details of the chat. It is scheduled for 6pm EDT on October 31st, which as 1UP notes, is the actual release date of <em>Hellgate: London</em>, so chances are if you're a die-hard fan, you will have already been playing the game all day. Oh, and I <em>guess</em> October 31st is Halloween too.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/29/your-chance-for-a-live-chat-with-hellgate-developers-on-hallowee/">Your chance for a live chat with Hellgate developers on Halloween</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Mon, 29 Oct 2007 20:44:00 EST. <p>With all the buzz about <em>Flagship Studios</em>' upcoming game, <em>Hellgate: London</em>, it hasn't been difficult to forget their subsidiary studio <em>Flagship Seattle</em>, who are currently beta-testing their own new MMO, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.mythos.com/"><em>Mythos</em></a>.</p>
<p><em>Mythos</em>, due to ship later this year, is a free-to-download, free-to-play, casual MMO which will be distributed by another <em>Flagship</em> subsidiary <em>Ping0 LLC</em> (in North America and Europe) and <em>HanbitSoft</em> (in Asia).</p><p><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/23/flagships-other-mmo-mythos-nearing-release/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Flagship's other MMO - Mythos nearing release</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com"><img src="http://massively.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Massively" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2007/10/23/flagships-other-mmo-mythos-nearing-release/">Flagship's other MMO - Mythos nearing release</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com">Massively</a> on Tue, 23 Oct 2007 12:00:00 EST.
