Choose my Adventure: The Marketplace

Because you're playing a ranger (I am too), House Denneth favor is going to be initially the most useful to you. Why? The first favor reward from them is cheap +3 ammo! When you get to the point where you're spending 1000 gold a pop on +1 arrows from the public shop (also located in House D enclave) you'll understand what I mean.

Cinemassively: Avatar Puppeteering possibly coming to Second Life in 2008

I would be extremely pessimistic about this comming out anytime soon, based on a breif conversation I've had with one of the devs. However it's pretty odd they're releasing the videos and writeup now, when they could have been floating around for the last two years and they've been witheld from the general masses.

New MMOSG: Sociotown

I'm sorry...that has to be a very unfortunate name choice. One word: Sociolotron. (http://sociolotron.amerabyte.com/website2/index.htm - Not Safe For Work, site has a 18+ age gate)

Second Life grid stumbling?

Oct 25th 2007 2:20AM (Second Life Insider)
Yeah...for a variety of reasons, a lot of people are just going in through secondlife.com; either people who probably just googlled Second Life when it was mentioned, people who couldn't get in or didn't want to go in through the CBS portal.

Second Life grid stumbling?

Reportedly, we're doing a lot better than CBS; their web stuff for the event is out completely. Little birdies have told me that signup records are being broken and that the most strain is being put on web services.

CSI: NY Goodness Just Keeps Comin'

"Acquired" is a mistake as far as I know, else the Sheep would have announced it. (He's talking in terms of before the CSI project got started).

More video goodness: Go to http://alpha.cbs.com/primetime/csi_ny/eyecons/index.php and enter the code daz07 (you would have otherwise had to get the code by watching CSI NY and calling a phone number hidden in the show). It's Zuiker talking about the in-world portion of the CSI experience - much of it we've allready heard from text articles but now there's video to go with it.

Crazy New CSI:NY Commercial

*Finaly* found a copy of the TV spot, though not through CBS directly: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8CaJEouzxrY

I'm most surprised so far that sex doesn't seem to be involved anywhere in the plot. I would have bet money on it.

Crazy New CSI:NY Commercial

Oh give them a *little* leeway...everything tech in CSI is allready sped up/simplified for the sake of plot devices/getting it all in the time frame of an episode. (Like those lab tests that run in 30 seconds...NY seems even more guilty of this than the original series, and their tech is like 5 years ahead of the RL curve). As do most other TV shows and movies. I don't care if they bend reality with the tech in this case so long as they don't bash the people.

Gamepad controll of SL is plausable if not common - there are a number of hacked directx drivers out there.

CSI: NY Orientation Islands Exist

Hey, I haven't seen any other SL sites pick up on this yet, but there's a different promo video posted yesterday from CBS up on YouTube that looks downright cool: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kfXb6zb6Upc (I've a sneeking suspicion that E-sheep might have done the editing on this one). I'm still waiting for the official TV promo spot to go up somewhere.

PC World has an interview from Zuiker - http://www.pcworld.com/video/id,614-page,1-bid,0/video.html - he says he has a regular SL account and is a regular.
