Definitely a fast moving, ranged superhero that either uses a weapon (gun or bow) or magic / psychic ability.

Updated: On the second day of giveaways, Hi-Rez gave to me...

Despite its admitted number of flaws, a friend and I re-subbed at 2.0 and rolled new characters. We just hit 23 and we find ourselves way behind the progression curve (this is a good thing; we're still doing lvl 19 and 20 quests) and absolutely swimming in Kinah, which makes work orders and buying rare mats for crafting much more tolerable. All in all we're having a good time. Time will tell if they did fix the xp grind into the 30's and onward, but if its anything like it has been so far they've done a lot to remedy the situation.

Free for All: Turbine's pristine payment plan perfects pay-to-win

I agree. I myself am a long-time fan of LoTRO (Own the game and both expansions) and find their stance on swift travel to be troubling. I find it absolutely ridiculous that customers such as myself who have not only bought the game but spent money in times past on the subscription do not get access to the Shadows of Angmar content by default. But I came to peace with this decision and was hoping to catch what I didn't have on sale.

Then I learned about swift travel. If you have never played LoTRO it's hard to describe what a rip-off $4 for 60 minutes of swift travel is. You NEED swift travel in order to even remotely enjoy this game past lvl 20, at the latest. This effectively removes F2P as a viable play option. It was my hope that F2P would be an alternate way to pay (buy the quest packs you need) at a higher cost so that I can avoid throwing down $15 for a month or $30 for 3 months assuming I keep interest or am kept from playing by something that needs my attention.

But that isn't what happened. F2P is really Free-to-login and enjoy the first few levels. After that, you are more or less forced to subscribe in order to get anything done in a timely manner.

TL;DR Turbine is using F2P as incentive to subscribe instead of using it as a reasonably higher-cost alternative to subscribing.

Hobbits like gifts and you do too: Win 500 LotRO Turbine Points and get into the head start!

To buy access to all the quests I paid for when I bought the game the first time.

To everyone who thinks they'll somehow be getting GW2 to be running on iOS/Android: no way. This is obviously some sort of application that acts more as an extension of the in-game HUD/navigation and social elements than a port of GW2 to the mobile platform. Which admittedly would be awesome, but that's just not gonna happen.

Doubling season comes to Global Agenda

Good for them, I hope they make a lot of money off this. These boosters are not game breaking at all, and provide you with nothing you cant get without them; they just let you get it a bit faster.

Sorry for the double post, but the latest patch also added "Raids" to the game, which are lvl 30+ missions for 10 players where you have to protect and objective from 4 waves of enemies, ending in a boss. Very fun and very challenging.

There have been 3 "Sandstorm" patches. The first changed the core mechanic behind gear and how you use it. It went from a distributive system of 15 points into different devices (ie, spend 3 points in your rifle, 2 on a lesser offhand device, etc) to different tiers of gear following the familiar color coding system: white->green->blue->purple. Gear is obtained from successfully completing a mission, or buy buying Mercenary or Conquest gear (lvl 30+). It also added solo missions and the ability to run missions with less than 4 people.

The second patch added the "Sonoran Dessert" outdoor zone, a lvl 1-15 area with quests. Pretty fun addition, and at the very least helped break up the grind that used to be 1-20. It also limited pvp to characters lvl 10+, and added consumables to the game.

The third patch, released about 2 weeks ago, made changes to the matchmaking system that greatly improved how evenly matched any two teams are in Mercenary PvP, making it much more fun than it used to be much more frequently. They also removed consumables from PvP and made some very big changes to AvA (which I can't comment on since I don't participate, yet). They also nerfed a weapon in the game that was being overused and abused, so now less people use it and everyone's life is better for it, and limited solo missions to characters lvl 20+.

All in all the game has come a very long way, and in my opinion the latest patch has made Mercenary PvP (the pick-up-and-play mode) MUCH more fun than it used to be. I highly recommend it.
