The Anvil of Crom: Age of Conan anniversary retrospective

I played when it came out for a couple of months and then cancelled. I have recently resubbed and am really enjoying the new game.

So much good stuff being said about this game now, that I am seriously thinking of reinstalling.

I was so stoked for this game, and subscribed for about two months. Ultimately I unsubscribed because of boredom and annoyance.

Unlike another poster here, I loved the graphics. So did my son, and we played a bunch of different heroes.

But I can't believe that in a game that is so awesome for creating characters, that they limited it to 8 slots or whatever it was. Plus the limited choice of adventuring in a desert or in the snow - I'll never forget my son saying "Daddy, is there anywhere else we can go but snow and sand?". On top of that we had to keep choosing toons to delete so we could create new ones.

I don't understand the disconnect between these MMO companies and the playerbase (in terms of what players want). The recent Allods c*ckup seems like yet another example.

Massively used to be pretty good, but now it sucks. Just the same ol' same ol' every day. Stopped looking at niche or free-to-play MMOs and now just the same ones pop up on this site....Every. Damn. Day.

Going downhill folks, but it's not too late to broaden your coverage and improve this once-promising blog.

Yes, the word 'fundamentalist' (as it is generally used in our society/societies) is synonymous with 'stupid'.

Belief in a magical sky fairy oustide of the context of a video game qualifies you as 'stupid', or possibly 'guillible' - or the somewhat less offensive 'silly'.

Yeah I can't see that this world is well suited to an MMO.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the books - but it just doesn't seem like it would work well, unless they come up with some creative new game mechanics.

The Daily Grind: Do you read MMO novels?

I've made the mistake of reading some of the WoW books and some other game novels as well.

Terrible idea: bad writing. Bad, bad writing. I think they have computers assemble the books. Like said above, it's just an attempt to cash in on the fans.

I've vowed not to read anymore of that crap.

Gods save us from Robert Jordan's crimes against plot and language.

Awful overrated books.
