The Daily Grind: Are there lore elements you feel don't get used enough?

Oct 31st 2011 6:00AM (Massively)
The OLD GODS, Titans and the SCOURGE in world of warcraft. They story of Wrath of the Lich King should not have ended with Arthas' demise, but with Arthas emerging and releasing himself from the Lich King, becoming something more than just a casualty of war. What is this? He went through all that shit to die in the end? I dislike that, I despise that...

The Daily Grind: Do you identify with your side?

Oct 31st 2011 5:55AM (Massively)
I play on both factions in World of WarCraft, but it's only because I have friends that I raid with on the horde side and the circumstance dictates it. I'm an Alliance champion though as I despise the horde for tearing down and tainting the beloved world of Azeroth with their filth and rage for war. They leveled cities, they destroyed forests, and they kill and shout "Strength and Honor", where is the honor? in killing things that move withing their sights. So, FOR THE ALLIANCE...

I couldn't play RIFT much but the much I have however, I couldn't relate to any side, even though in life I'm an atheist, a complete non-believer who believes only in one thing and that's religion is the downfall of men as a race. But Defiant was my thing, I played on their side for a while, yet, in a fantasy realm, being a defiant don't really make any sense, as deities exist and they actually intervene every now and then.

The Daily Grind: Would you play a truly evil faction?

Jun 19th 2011 6:08PM (Massively)
Well, a truly evil faction, hell yeah I would. When Wrath of the Lich King came out I didn't want to leave his side. I always wanted to be part of the the Scourge. And in SW:TOR I'd play the sith, republic folks never appealed to me, I'm more of a Darth Vader kinda guy than the frog master yoda...

GamersFirst announces acquisition of Fallen Earth with new F2P business model

is this a good thing or bad thing? I always wanted to play but it being hosted at US server only and limited payment options kept me away from it. Does this mean an EU server as well on launch day or no?

The Daily Grind: Are flying mounts bad for gameplay?

Jun 14th 2011 9:30AM (Massively)
Well it truly depends on the game, in WoW it makes sense, there's a huge world that would make grown man cry for wanting go from one end of it to the other even at times there are transportations implemented other than one's mount. it no way means one wants to skip content, and if they do, it's their right to do so. I love flying mounts in wow because they're there to make things smoother after hitting a certain level, old days it was at cap lvl now it makes sense when someone wants to do more exploration and have more freedom going where ever the hell they want, when ever the hell they want and as fast as the game allows them to go. So I'm pro flying mounts, and I don't get those who're nagging about it, it certainly don't look like an issue to me. Freedom is not an issue, it's our right.

Sometimes people just need to get somewhere as fast as possible, it's nothing bad really, they have seen enough of it throughout their months of subscription, it's no big deal. Just like real life, when you first move out to some place you want to see everything that the environment has to offers, roads, shops, views, any location of interest, so you explore, but after a while, it loses its charm and you pass by everything hardly notice the surroundings.

EVE Evolved: Predictions for DUST 514

Jun 13th 2011 4:59AM (Massively)
@Rayko Well, I wont say you're entirely wrong because you have a valid point you're a PC gamer like I am and you're wondering why Dust would go PS3 exclusive. There are number of possible reasons for CCP to go single platform with Dust, first and foremost They want to grow the EVE community beyond PC platform, so they want to present an experience that is entirely different with their current game, yet they want to expand that universe, which connectivity and integrations with EVE comes into play. Another reason might be that CCP, in all their success are still a small company with limited resources and budget, so they'd rather come up with a title working great on a single platform and continue to support, expand and maintain it instead of going multiplatform which is more time and budget consuming. I'd like to think that CCP has strategies for taking this action like they want to expand EVE universe and experience by having different platforms with experiences unique and appealing to each specific platform. This might mean they want EVE Online to attract PC gamers and expand its community on EVE for PC, and Dust 514 to attract console shooter fans who are intrigued by the idea of taking part in something much grander, that allows them to complete objectives that has an impact in one unique universe, and that is not just EVE Online or Dust 514 it's the entire New Eden, to different type of crowd with different style of play and with different ambitions taking part in shaping an immersive universe that is not limited to EVE or Dust but affects them both in different ways.

PS: I tried to make sense as much as I could, sorry if there are any problems as English is my second tongue.

EVE Evolved: Building a better UI

Jun 5th 2011 10:39PM (Massively)
@(Unverified) couldn't agree more with both statements, the font is the major issue. you can increase the chat fonts but not the interface and descriptions. I have the habit of putting my feet on top of each other on my desktop and lean back and hug the keyboard, that annoys me a lot, especially in 1080p res, it needs your face in the monitor to be readable.

As far as the WoW mod goes, there's nothing to add you said it right and said it all. I hate DBM, I hate recount, I hate playerscore... but, I love Carbonite, I can't imagine myself playing wow without it, I tried even but I failed. just the map, not quest tracking, just the map and minimap. it's completely accessible and you have a sense of your surroundings. just that a guilty pleasure of mine don't take it away from me and ofc dominos.... only these two.

EVE Evolved: Building a better UI

Jun 5th 2011 8:45PM (Massively)
@(Unverified) Yeah, I'm kinda like that too, I was mostly off too (hehe) but I really like EVE cause it has things that are not in a functional state in any other games, and it truly has some overwhelming moments but as you said CCP has big dreams for it, they did not start talking about these changes until couple of years ago, but it seems they have some grand scheme that they're trying to integrate in the game step by step and carefully cause they don't want to lose their loyal fans who stayed with the game for such a long time and at the same time they are trying to bring that core experience of EVE to a much broader audience. For me this is a right path they're set themselves on, it shows they truly care about their fanbase and when they're talking about them that's not just shallow claims and PR crap, they just have plans to grow and mature in a market populated with lots of titles, that has no true values in comparison with theirs. Whenever I take a break from WoW I return to see how things are at New Eden, recently more constant. The concept is great, their plans are sound, the integration is slow but at least they're making progress and taking the right steps. :P
