these were amazing tabletop games, when they were roleplayed in themed chat rooms it was great, sure they were free form and whitewolf rules rooms and of course the freeform rooms used certain rules to make rp flow smoothly.

now i would LOVE to see a modern take on the world of darkness in a modern MMO but none of this

"go here kill this many then come back"

and none of this

"collect this many kill this many come back then do this to that then collect your shitty reward"

make MMO's that are part quest part PvP and part PvE where they ALL blend in

EVE i have never played and dont want to play but in WoD each race and subrace would have a safe house where they can go and train and such.

WoD should be an MMORPG because there is so much content and so much possablitys it would be cool.

there WAS supposed to have been a werewolf game but that was canceled in favour for the pc game Vampire the masqurade:bloodlines(which saw that developer go bust weeks after the launch)

so uumm where was i :P

well no wonder there going down fast.

1) they tried to SUE a lot of people who made SG-1 mods for HL2 and LOSE
2) said people COUNTERSUED and WON
3) wasted so much time in promoting the SG-1 MMO rather than actually MAKING IT
4)messed up and wasted so much cash they couldent afford the mmo anymore and have now made it a single player game

thats just four things i found out all over the net (mind you i had to dig into the depths of satans backside to find out this stuff)


what they should do if make the game an MMO but a FREE TO PLAY base with optional subsriptions and a cash shop (DO NOT DO WHAT THEY DID IN REQUIEM)

the sg-1 game was one of the highlights of the year but then they wasted cash, fired staff, changed the entire game i could go on but in reality...sell the frigging stargate license to a respectable company that does know what to do ( DO NOT GIVE IT TO CRYPTIC...Champions online know what i mean

well i got a 72 hour suspension for obvious reasons (look at the other aion post) but i sent an email to em today to remind em to lift the suspension which has over run by 3 hours and i have not recived a reply and i am a regular player (untill the boo boo) and it seems they have also suspended a few other ppl i know for "inactive accounts".

ncsoft took there sweet time in dealing with this problem and there banning 16,000 accounts well out of those 16k how many are innocent ppl and from what i've read on the fourms its an easy process to get unbanned such as supplying a proof of purchase and a serial key.

only problem is that a digital copy has neither, its just an email saying "thank you for purchasing aion" and theres no serial key ( well i never recived mine)

just beware of aion, there a bunch of smug gits

the game was amazing untill sony introduced "combat Revision 2" "CR2) they removed an entire tree of abilitys (Zen Master) and totaly nerfed another tree (Spy) and on top of that they made a point of you having to make a roll to "roll out" of a pvp fight,
before CR2 you could get in a hell almighty 1v1 pvp and be able to roll out of the fight before your killed.

sony ruined this game by not advertising or promoting it, they had a very uniqe game on there hands and they did not know.

i subbed to the game right off the bat hell i was even in the beta program for the entirety so you could say i was a 5 year vet with the game.

the community is as tight as it could be, sure they were factions like machines, zion and merovingion and when you hit lvl 16 you were suseptable to pvp. (on vector which it was named to after the merge (they used to be Enumerator, Heuristic and Input ).

i have never had so much fun doin a streak through mara c with a shield down but running like crazy just for the hell of it lol.

but near the end 90% of the server had went from 3 orgs dow almost one,
on tjhe very last day there was like at max 20 machine players 50 zion and over 100 merv so you could say the machines were outnumbered ehehehe

this game ruled the whole pvp , org v org battles were epic.

the events pre-staff firings was the best, the assassin event was the biggest ever.
that event caused what was known at the time "the biggest ever server crash" because ALL NINE servers went down because there were so many people online at the time.

WB and monolith were like "HOLY S**T"

then sony bought it and all the players went "OH S**T were F****D" and sure enough SOE killed it.

MxO was my first and only MMO and it will miss it.

sony have also in there idioticness are also forcing ppl to Subscribe to the other games JUST TO CHAT TO THERE FRIENDS on the damned station launcher

anyways SOE ruined the game when they took it from WB.
first thing they did was take out the spy tree and the stealth jacket and then put those into SWG all the crap from SWG was put into MXO and all the good stuff from MXO was put into SWG

sony has the problem of killing games because they want to make money from the bigger name movies such as starwars.
and from what i've been reading all over the net it seems SWG was so over hyped when ppl went to it they were all disappointed.
mxo is the little game that could, solid story line ((untill sony killed off all the major chars)) a fantastic live event team ((again sony killed it)) the entire game was a hit from the start then WB sold it.

instead of shutting it down they could have made it free to play that way the game is still alive, and allow players to add there own content that way the players would have a say in how it runs.

it is trully sad that a big company that lost billions in making the ps3 (LMAO@the ps3) and lost millions in buying other companys only to see em collapse and also lose a multitude of court cases which resulted in losses of the hundred millions.

sony should give up and actually listen to there subscribers

i was a subscriber up untill last year.
MXO was fantastic, i have a lot of friends in there and SOE could have made this game free to play at least, to shut down a game that has a big movie attached to it i feel is wrong.
my char is a machine char named Chmarr Darksoul and i am at the maximum possible level across the entire abilitys tree's
i dont want this game to go into the grave it should be kept alive

damn so many games giving away beta keys lol
is it me or is this like the open beta of mmo season or what :D

the EU has its own DP laws but the uk has diffrent ones from mainland EU, even though the uk is part of the EU they do not have the same laws as the EU which is why LL are going to find it hard, uk DP laws fall into diffrent regions within the uk

scottish data protection is stricter than england, ireland and wales
english law has diffrent DPA
wales has diffrent DPA
ireland has diffrent DPA

if LL are going to make a data collection sever they need to make one in each of the places above, 1 in scotland, 1 in england 1 in wales and 1 in ireland, the uk has so many diffrent law systems LL would find it near impossible to do it and the cost of it would cause them headaches.

i know what LL is doing and it is scary, there are only a few things they can ask from ppl and the number 1 thing they cannot ask for is for the persons social security number, if they ever ask for that anywhere in the uk then i think the goverment would have something to say as it is only the goverment agencys that can ask for that

look at it this way, LL need to goto the EU data protection act as well as the UK Data protection act, LL thinks they can do what they want but this WILL bite em in the ass due to the high legality of it in the uk
