I've sort of been hoping for some company to make use to the ideas started by Ryzom Ring since that game first attempted it.

Cryptic, in my eyes, is one of few companies who could really put a system like this in place. And it would lend itself very well to the Console crowd, for which the game's being developed alongside the PC folks.

Someone's going to do it. Some company's going to come up with a mission creator, or a dungeon creator, and put it online for its players to use and the one who does so and does so well will be very handsomely rewarded by a throng of ready made fans and never-ending content. :)

I'd bet that's what we see.

Actually Justin, just the PvP Weekend's NDA was lifted. Closed beta and tech beta are still under wraps, though that will likely change come next week.

Hell, I'm just glad the PvP weekend was a success.

I'm immediately reminded of Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura from Troika a few years back. Phenomenal game (and studio) that did a fantastic job melding the industrial revolution with traditional high fantasy. Look no further than that game for how to really make EQ3 come alive like this article suggests.

I'm actually near the bear-bottom thanks to an old AGP MoBo.

Looks like I'll be upgrading before May 20th.

Yeah, that pretty much sucked, but I hear the next patch is supposed to address some of these issues brought on by the change, and another respec is in order I think when that happens, at least for Guardians.

Therein lies the worry, Jeremy. I'm dying to get my hands on it, because after TR, I've seen the light of new gameplay mechanics and I desperately want AoC's or Spellborn's to work. We need successes in such new ventures if the genre is to grow.
