Microsoft has a long and storied history of destroying acquisitions. Sure hope the TP folks got paid well for this, because it's all downhill from here.

Hell, this acquisition itself is strange in that most recently they were closing studios rather then buying them (FASA Interactive, Ensemble).

@MW49350 DS3 sucks. I loathed it so much after DS2, which I loved. DS3 needed a lot more Rozalin and a lot less Mao.

@jynxycat No, I'm pretty sure SE isn't wrong and Gamestop no longer selling the game is an indication of that.

Even if they are, who cares? GS is the ones tampering with boxes and removing something from customers in order to avoid phony competition with a service that doesn't yet exist... and since they sell Steamworks games that excuse is BS anyway.

This is just yet another example of GS treating new games like second class products and PC games like third class ones. Par for the course for them. Some days I wonder how a company so unbelievably bad at selling its only product manages to stay in business.

As soon as the console makers kill the used game pawn shop industry, I won't wonder anymore. GS will be dead almost overnight. I won't miss it.

What a joke. What are they spending those tens of millions a month on anyway? There's no excuse to charge extra for this when almost everything required to do it already exists. We already have the tech for cross-server messaging, cross-server groups, and cross-server dungeons. All they need to add is the ability to send invites.

Sorry guys, but this is Activision running the ship again. It's another sign (along with lame recycled troll dungeons) that the long predicted decline has finally started. They're not focused on the game anymore, they're focused on how much stuff they can tack as an extra fee to boost revenue.

I'm glad I cancelled last week over how godawful 4.1 is. A company that would pull this stunt isn't one I want to give money to.

@sammo21 Hopefully you've learned something from this: pre-orders are stupid. They're designed to get money from suckers before any real details on the games performance are out.

@DigitalFirefly Taking your time to put up a good game is fine and all... but you also have to release at some point. Development is expensive, and nobody is going to give you endless money in the hope that you eventually get it right.

It's been delayed so far at this point that it's hard to believe it'll ever get released.
