I always thought it was cool when NPC's fight the occasional mob (the patrol people in Westfall or the Elves vs. Ghosts at Stars Rest in Dragonblight). Adds a little flavor and a reminder that mobs are scary.
I'd like to see more of that. But not the scripted endless mobs vs. NPC's a-la Shattered Sun harbor or the Rubyshire in Dragonblight.
My Alliance guild has a Horde night, and every time I play Horde it feels like being in Canada. Lot of things the same as being in the US, but just different enough to throw you off.
