TERA recaps the most recent closed beta weekend, concludes that PvP players enjoy PvP

Now, they just need to make it so safe zones (excluding capital cities, of course) do not provided protection for outlaws or anyone engaged in combat with another player.

The Daily Grind: How many MMO betas are installed on your machine?

I have two. TERA NA and TERA EU. Gotta get my dose of TERA every weekend. Two weeks of TERA withdrawal would kill me.

TERA offers answers, launching with level 60 cap

I wonder if this means that they've scaled an instance down to level 32 (the level cap for CBT3)? Originally, the next instance, Heathenish Shelter, wouldn't even be doable until 34.

I uninstalled FFXIV 2 days ago. There are several things I really enjoyed about the game, but others I just couldn't bare (chiefly, the UI and targetting). Now that I'm completely smitten with TERA, Aion going to F2P, and ArcheAge somewhere on the horizon, I just don't see myself ever going back.

I would have uninstalled Aion too, but with it going F2P, it will likely serve as my main fallback game.

@Dunraven
I think this image sums things up nicely. (Note: Use of strong language, so mildly NSFW)

I'm looking forward to blockading the Velika West Gate again. Ψ(`▽´)Ψ

TERA hi-resolution textures patch now available

@Snichy
I've read conflicting reports about whether or not the EU version was using the hi-rez textures. To my knowledge, Frogster has never come out and given a straight answer on the issue. However, I've been comparing screenshots I took in Velika on both EU and NA versions (both at max settings) and am unable to notice a difference between the two.

Going toe-to-toe with TERA's first beta weekend

Personally, I think EME's decision to censo- "redesign" their outfits was the catalyst for most of the controversy over them. There wouldn't have been nearly the amount of 'backlash' had they not centered the negative attention on the Elin themselves.

Going toe-to-toe with TERA's first beta weekend

@Divvsy
I'm glad I'm not the only one one that sees this. I think some people are purposefully avoiding reason on the issue just for the sake of perpetuating controversy (and page views).

Jef says Elin look "exactly" like young children, but I implore you to find a child with a head larger than their torso and a slim waist that arcs into wide hips. Those aren't the proportions of a human child. The Elin look like anime characters that got lost and wound up in Arborea. I'll admit that they look a little out of place in relation to the other races, but I think they're a welcome addition.

All that said, I do find their armor designs to be counter-productive, but only because it contradicts what I presume to be the purpose of the Elin's design. They're meant to be a cutesy race much like Tarutaru/Lalafell. The risqué and revealing outfits end up making the Elin look lewd and suggestive rather than 'cute'. There are several dresses that would look absolutely adorable if only they were a little longer. Most of them barely extend past their crotch if they even cover that much!

Is it really too much to ask to add another 3 inches (at least) to the hem of their skirts? Heck, dress them up in Rozen Maiden cosplay. Actually, BHS should just outsource their Elin armor designs to Peach Pit or CLAMP. Problem solved.

"...and that further research is needed."

Uh huh. In other words, they want more funding to fuel their own MMO addictions. I see what's going on here!
