The Daily Grind: Would you pay for an MMO's mobile app?
Jan 17th 2012 11:18AM (Massively)Take SWTOR. I'd pay $1-3 a month for an iOS app that lets me have companions do stuff, hit trade house, and perhaps some basic email/in game chat, and some recipe/db stuff.
I also really liked the pre-registration forums for guilds, the idea of having your guild integrated with the core website was nice. If they added more options for the guild forums, perhaps a way to see your guildmates gear and stats integrated with the website and the game. We'd have easily paid $10-20 a month as a guild for such a functionality.
I think if you offer cool enough services, features, above and beyond content, then monthly charges are valid and I would not mind paying them.

Dec 20th 2011 6:15PM (Joystiq)I too am hoping that it's an expansion pack for BF3, that'd be awesome. Too many games out right now, too much coming, I have not even purchased BF3 yet (but I will). If this came out I'd jump on both in a heartbeat.

Nov 28th 2011 3:44PM (Joystiq)That said, if this conjecture is true, that companies are turning down offers based off protecting their employees/brands, then that makes me happy. If true, it's quite cool, and quite rare to see.
