The Daily Grind: What would make you cancel a pre-order?

@fdisk SS/DD questing system aside, did you make it to level 21?

That's when the mobs finally start using AI tactics, like flanking you or having a melee distract you while the caster heals the melee or in some cases rezes them, kinda neat stuff, much preferred to the stupid mobs that you get in most other MMOs, although I do think it's a mistake for EME/BHS to introduce them so late.

@Deliverator Also gathering buffs are stackable, and more than one party member can gather off the same node, in fact if they do, there's a higher chance and getting more materials from said node.

Also as far as PVP goes, GvGvG is actually in the game right now, and works, and I believe there will be two BGs in the game on release. I don't know much further than this though, since I am a casual player at PVP at best. PVE, RP-lite and Crafting is more my cup of tea.

Blizzard already talking about post-Pandaria WoW expansions

@MassiveGG DW:TOR is an EA property, so it's really not likely to go F2P anytime soon, regardless of how well they are doing financially.

For reference, take a gander at Warhammer Age of Reckoning.

@Sickness Yep

Business is about growth. If you have plans, ambition, you won't even be kicking back and resting on your laurels.

To lose customers, especially in the millions, is a very big deal. Especially if you no longer really own your company, such as the case with Blizzard. They want to make big daddy Vivendi happy, and subscriber drops aren't furthering this goal.

@alzeer About time!

I've been wanting to check out this game for so friggin' long, but I'm a one-sub kinda MMO player.

However besides my single sub game, I will usually play at least 4 F2P games, even buy $hop options if I like the game enough.

Good point.

Yeah, If I were living on my nice little island and a bunch of 'boat people' came over and started to trash the place I wouldn't be very sympathetic with either side.

It's just kind of a shallow attempt at shoe-horning the Pandarians into the 'story'.

IMO the faction lock should just be scrapped for all playable races and instead make the Alliance and the Horde into a reputation faction where you start out neutral with both, and then at a certain level of faction rep you start getting story quest-lines from side X, and then become Kill-On-Sight with side Y, like a more advanced version of Steamwheedle Cartel vs. Bloodsails.

@Vgk Thanks for the reply

Dunno. I think playing for 6 years, though fun while it lasted, pretty well killed off the game for me personally. It's nice that they are moving off in a different direction though.

I wonder, for instance, how they will be managing the transition from combat mechanics that relied heavily on Auto-Attack, to a system where that isn't present at all?

Should be interesting.

Is it just me?

The panda right behind Tom Chilton looks a heck of a lot like Abbath Doom, the lead singer in the band Immortal. XD

Seriously, look at this: http://www.metal-history.ru/photos/90/im.jpg

Or maybe Abbath Doom just looks like an angry panda. Who knows?

(snip) "...more playful theme of adventure, exploration, and oh yeah, the war between the Alliance and the Horde."

Playful and fun makes for a weird juxtaposition with burning blood and killing.

Honestly, why not just drop the whole Alliance vs. the Horde thing? IMO it really doesn't matter anymore anyway.

Was there sexy talk about chopping things off to see if they grew back larger? XD
