@Johnnynumber5 is powered by cell Reasonably priced? What the hell, did you shoplift your memory card or something?
To dust off the old chestnut, it's like when you buy a car: It's like if they gave you $5000 off sticker price for the car, but then charged you $10000 for the keys. I know they are usually more subtle than that but the analogy still works.
And frankly I don't think the launch lineup is any better than the WiiU. Uncharted is ok but frankly overrated for what it is, and Wipeout would have been decent had it been a good port. That's about it that was worth buying, while 3DS had SSFIV (I don't buy Capcom anymore but more power to you guys I guess) and the very underrated Pilotwings Resort. I'd say the launch lineup was about even, but if I had to pick I'd go with the 3DS. But saying the Vita has the greatest launch lineup ever is just ridiculous.
Finally it's easy to surpass sales expectations when expectations are 0. You don't know what they really are, but if current sales are exceeding expectations they must have been aiming pretty low.
@Captain Planet Planeteer Power Didn't Goldeneye and Conduit 2 come out since then? Despite what Joystiq may try to tell you those are supposed to both be really good. Then there's Motoheroez, same story for Wiiware. Then again I can't think of much else besides Epic Mickey which I thought was overrated as hell...
@Stormwaltz Agreed, been nice if it wasn't Easter weekend, but then it wouldn't be first contact week would it? What can you do? While I'm glad they are adding new content to the game, there are far more serious bugs that need to be taken care of before adding silly pets to the game. Still, I will try to check it out, I really don't want to give up on this game.
@Time Prophet It's obvious you don't bother watching the news, this is a WORLDWIDE problem in almost every industry. I work in the construction industry, and I follow the gaming industry pretty closely too. I can assure you that most companies in our industry are hurting A LOT MORE than 99% of these gaming studios.
@EIranzer WB whored out Arkham City to be sure. And I wasn't happy about the $5 "klassik kostumes" that were already on the disc either. But the flipside to that was that they did give out plenty of free costumes too (8 in total I believe), which I adored. Their only mistakes there were not giving Mileena a MK2 costume and not forcing people to dl the first 3.
As for the fighters themselves, I held out for the 4 fighters for $15 bundle. Buying that isn't something I'd normally do, and I admit I felt dirty buying it, but damn if I don't enjoy playing as Freddy. If this hadn't been the first 2D MK in years I probably wouldn't have done it.
Anyways I guess what I was trying to say is that their DLC wasn't too bad overall, and it's offset (a bit) by the fact that they supplied half of their costumes for free. I don't think that's something Capcom's ever done is it?
@drunkingamebar Madcatz single handedly turned me off 3rd party hardware. I'll never forget how terrible those Gamecube controllers were, and for some totally inexplicable reason they wouldn't work on any Wii games at all (yet they did work when the Wii was in GC mode).
