LOTRO is definitely a more community-based game. I think this feature is cool, but it's definitely a secondary tool. LOTRO is nothing like wow - you don't log in to the game and queue up for dungeons throughout most of the game.
It'd be nice to offer this to previous subscribers. I assumed this was the case and tried logging in over the weekend. They should take a hint from Rift and offer previous players free time to play the game again, - it's not triggered me to resub to rift yet but it at least keeps me interested in the game.
lol if you honestly expect bioware to release free content updates that aren't raid/pvp - centric. As far as bioware's concerned, they've completed the story version of the game - now they're fleshing out the MMO aspects. They'll eventually release an expansion pack for full price that will give you 10 more levels of class specific quests a year from now - which I'm sure they've already started working on. And they'll continue to update the game like this for as long as it lasts.
but don't expect patch 1.x to be "we've launched a new zone, and tons of new quests for all classes!" because it's not going to happen, and if it does - it will be very seldomly.
I agree, they need to implement this in some form. I've asked for it myself. I hate outleveling whole zones. It's not the same going back at a higher level and plowing through everything
The easiest way to level up quickly is to just run skirmishes with rested experience - use destiny points to gain more when you run out. Also use any exp boost items (I have a pocket item that gives me 25% experience gain by purchasing rise of isengard, not sure if you can still get it or not)
I took a character from 31 to 40 in a pretty short amount of time doing this. You can gain a level in a few hours.. This strategy will pretty much take you to 75 VERY quickly. There's a huge disparity in leveling time between questing and running skirmishes, even if you know where the quest objectives are.
The store is balanced for the paying customers (VIP) who have been getting 500TP/Month for years. This wallet upgrade is pretty much useless to any player that doesn't have years dedicated into the game
