Have to agree with smartstep. I don't know where all this push to free-to-play is coming from (I don't see players asking for it all over game forums) but that is a fundamental game change that I do not want to play.

I play games to escape from the reality I live in. The last thing I want is to constantly have to consider my RL finances while playing a fantasy game. With a subscription the financial decision I make for a game I make once and that's the end of that. In "free"-to-play games your constantly reminded of RL finances and that is no longer an escape for me. If the industry really does go to this model, I'm out of the MMO market.

They could expand the Incarna gameplay to be the coolest thing in the history of MMO's and I still would not care. Fundamentally all I want to do is fly a space ship! It's really that simple. Hell, one of the things that first attracted me to EVE was that you didn't have a stupid looking awkward full body thingy to deal with. I already have one of those in real life, I don't have a spaceship! I know many people liked the "future vision" thing at fanfest, but I just don't care. All a station is to me, is a place where I have to do some stuff to get back into space.

And I also just don't buy the argument that new people it will bring into the game will be good. It may be good for the junk that happens in stations, but probably not in space (which again, is all I care about). Even in the example of this article the hypothetical new player who uses an Incarna only jump clone to bypass a gate-camp to get into lowsec, well if you have to do that then how useful would you really be in a ship in lowsec?
